For a group that spend so much time telling anyone who crosses their path not to believe anything the MSM says they sure seem to get a lot of their ideas from fictional programmes and films from streaming networks and Hollywood.

The usual argument is that "they" are hiding things in plain sight, therefore the mainstream TV is the "real truth".

On another thread on here (non CT related) I saw someone ask a known CT tattler for sources and one of the ‘sources’ they gave was a Daily Mail article 😂😂😂

Have you seen the way they throw in the occasional badly wrong weather forecast just to make it look they aren't actually controlling it all, that's just dead sneaky and I can't deny the truth, it's a fiendishly cunning ploy that almost had me fooled

I've probably said something similar before, but I think if some of the conspiracy theories were true, then discussion of them would magically disappear.

After all, a lot of CTists seem to think governments have immense power and control almost everything, so surely they'd remove any discussion that might "wake people up" before it got very widespread.

I find some of them quite fascinating. A lot of them display severe paranoia to the point that almost everything is tied back to a CT. Even the Archie Battersbee case has been linked back to a CT -- ie. the situation where the mother who has constantly appealed court decision after court decision has been engineered to remove public trust in the courts with a view to getting legal challenges stopped, etc.

Hm, I think the whole point would be to spread more CT's so no one can really tell which one is the most likely to be true. It's basically how propaganda works these days - Russia and Ukraine are a good example because it's hard to say what the actual situation actually is for the most part
I saw a YouTube video on this but I can't find it now, I might drop it here if I see it recommended to me again and I reckon a lot of CTs which might have truth to them work in a similar way

The Archie case is interesting to me because the mother herself seems to be into CTs. It makes me wonder whether that mistrust has partly resulted in this case where she's easy to manipulate by the likes of Christian Concern and genuinely believes on some level that the courts and NHS are not working in Archie's or her interest
On that note, I wonder what the impact of parents holding such opinions and passing them on is on kids. Obviously they probably come to believe those conspiracies themselves but then they grow up from a very young age thinking that the state isn't acting in their interest/is unsafe in some way? That can't be good long-term

This in particular helped by it being probably the most reported war we've ever seen, with so much from unfamiliar sources, and a bit too much of the overenthusiastic over-reporting with unchecked clips, some deliberately fed in to be used by the unwary.

Add to that the amount of leftover soviet baggage Ukraine is still dealing with (not a wealthy country by any means) and what we have is rich pickings for anyone wanting to shape a back-story.
Obviously having an actor as their president helps that too...

Which is all fair enough but when it gets used to try and make out that Ukraine isn't the wronged party or in need of help or even that it's somehow not worth saving from being turned into smoking rubble and ruins, that's where it goes into 'heavily influenced' territory.

TLDR agree (to an extent), best to mix and match multiple sources, especially non hectoring ones that don't lecture at you and don't feel the need to repeatedly impress upon you that only they are the real truth.

OT but has anyone seen MudFossil University? It's run by a guy called Roger Spurr who has some funny ideas about giants and fossils. He's utterly bizarre (I think he's a bit of a drinker as he tends to slur and ramble).
He finds fossils of dragons and giants in rock formations and talks about meat meteors and mega snakes. Sometimes I can't deal with him but other days he's a great laugh as he's serious about his mud fossils.

I didn't realise she was into CTs, but that makes sense now you say it. She definitely has that same level of paranoia and mistrust that a lot of conspiracy theorists have, as do her loyal followers.

It similar with anti vaxxers - they think there's an ulterior motive behind all that as well.

I tend to believe any site which claims to be a lone source of truth is usually full of BS. And the more vociferous the claim the more divorced from reality they are.

Similarly the more outlandish claims about the health benefits of a supplement the more likely it is to be crushed nettle leaves, and the higher the potential return claimed by an investment the more likely it is to be a scam.

And don’t get me started about the people on dating sites which specialise in “attractive and successful members”….

Alex Jones must pay $50m for Sandy Hook hoax claim - BBC News

The first of three trials apparently by parents. Also looking like the committee investigating the Jan 6th stuff are going to get access to the text messages his team accidentally leaked ...
he is a disgusting human being and i’m glad he’s finally getting some degree of comeuppance. it’s nowhere near as much as he deserves and it makes to sick to hear how much money he probably has squirrelled away but it’s a start.

i can’t believe that the parents had to have police protection during this trial and that there are still insane people who believe they’re acting. the dad’s testimony where he said “i was a real dad, i had a real son” broke my heart. their memories of their children have been completely wrapped up in this egomaniac’s nonsense.

On the off chance that Jones's almost-tears in court were not due to a cunningly placed chopped onion, I put forward the possibility that this might not be entirely unrelated to the prospect of losing money.

Has the begging page appeared yet? That's got to be on its way, surely!

I don't think he'll need to beg. Some of his fans will just carry on donating anyway. They will also probably spin this as "The Powers That Be are trying to silence him!!!"

the bbc article claimed that he gets close to $400k a month from his equally deranged fans! he almost certainly hid money away before infowars went “bankrupt” too.

he may do a begging page but, even if he does, he sadly still has enough of a following that people are gonna send him money. his almost tears are probably just an attempt to prove he has a conscience. he knew all along sandy hook was real, he’s said so previously, he just used those children as a way to gain a bigger following and to get money from his followers. he makes me sick.

What a disgusting individual. No amount of money is going to take away the emotional suffering and harrassment the family had to endure.

I am glad he is getting his comeuppance for what he has done and put this family through.

the equally tragic thing is that it’s not even just THIS family. he and his followers absolutely tortured the sandy hook parents for years - they had to wear disguises and move their children to unmarked graves because they were being vandalised.

i think this is the first of three (maybe four) separate lawsuits from parents against him, but they will never be able to retrieve the damage he’s done to their children’s memories. imagine being continuously told, by people who will not see reason, that the child you’re still grieving wasn’t real. and all over guns?!

i hope they’re able to fully establish how many assets he actually has and then take him for everything he’s got.

Gosh I did not know the full extent of what they had to endure. It is absolutely awful especially after what they have already been through, the loss and heartbreak. 😭

He and all who have been involved are absolutely vile. I have no words. 🤬

Alex Jones has previously been diagnosed with Narcissistic personality disorder. Which is not at all surprising. Research shows that people who believe in loads of conspiracy theories are often likely to have personality disorders.

I really feel for the parents of the Sandy Hook victims. I would also like to highlight that Alex Jones has been selling ‘care packages’ to paranoid people from his show ‘Infowars’ for many years and some of the things in these packages have been found to be dangerous (and the rest, useless!).

People with NPD have no capacity to care for others so everything he does is self-interest based.
