Am I being unreasonable?

These girls will be making it a 'main holiday' with going away for 5 days they probably see it as better value as will get more sun and party time than spending slightly less and feel like they haven't had a proper holiday. Your friend getting married probably views it as a last girls holiday before her wedding more than a hen do.

Everyone is different. If this was my really close friend I would go, if it wasn't or I had other more important plans I wouldn't. We paid 2.8k for a family of 3 week away all inclusive so the cost of 5 days doesn't surprise me but just depends how much you want to go and you don't seem to so best to leave the chat ASAP.

I'm so invested in this now and really want to know how it goes so keep us updated

Thats actually horrific!!! Ibiza is just Benidorm in disguise too it baffles me how many people flock there paying them ridiculous prices.
Leave the chat and spend the money on a gorgeous holiday somewhere with your partner, these girls sound unhinged

This is more than I'd spend on my yearly nice holiday away with my partner...you can go all inclusive with a swim up room for that price, actually deranged. Do your friends not know there's a cost of living crisis? I think this is so tone deaf and insensitive tbh, doing such an expensive hen is going to force friends to have to disclose financial difficulties that people generally keep private/might be embarrassed about, no matter how 'close' a friend is over my dead body would I want to put someone in this position

I’m speaking from experience as someone who has overshared in the past and as good as doxxed myself Unless you wouldn’t mind if they seen this thread and knew it was yourself posting. In fairness were not paying for her so that's one thing I can't complain about amazes me when people do this! The way I see it the bride should pay for/subsidise the other people as it's her hen "party" same as if I had a 30th, cos it's my party, I would be responsible for hiring the room, decorating it, getting the cake, I wouldn't expect my friends to pay for it

I would honestly just tell her you aren't going and if she's not having UK hen do, suggest a night out here, or a spa weekend, etc. A good friend would be understanding and if she's not understanding, do you really need her in your life?

Have they factored in spending money to that cost? Ibiza is really really expensive.. especially drinks etc. I’d be flat out refusing to go at this point if I were you. Personally I think Ibiza is just full of chavvy posers anyway, it’s nothing like it used to be. Especially if they are planning on staying in or going out in San Antonio, absolute dive. Like another poster said you might as well go to Benidorm!

One hen do I refused to go on was in the uk over £500 and rising and I wasn’t even promised a bed

I was in a v similar situation myself recently and although I'd already committed to going, I put my foot down on the 'yacht and pool parties' that had been organised and were far too expensive. Especially as we were in a place with a beach, so why did we need to pay to go to a private pool?
When I organised my sisters, it was a long weekend abroad and nobody paid more than £250/300 the entire trip - flights, accommodation included. I hate that just because one person wants something they expect that everyone else should have to pay the same and go along with it even if they can't afford or don't want to! If I were you I'd say that it's become far too expensive and that you just can't commit to it.

If I were you id politely decline. That's too much for a hen do. My sister got married this year and I'm getting married next year and I said to her would you fancy a weekend in Disneyland Paris for my honeymoon and she said yes as she didn't have one when she got married. For the two of us and my wee boy is working out about 500 which for Disneyland is decent

duck what have I created, my apologies! no updates really... my friend (the bride) told me to go an find some cheaper accommodation and give everybody the option, but on the group chat they've now come down to £1500 from the earlier £1750 (biiiiggg saving ) and have swapped the villa for an equally swanky apartment but still want to do all the same events but with the caveat that "people can stay at the villa if they want" and everyone has to respond by the end of this week with a view to booking.

I'm not gonna pay £1000 to sit at home for 5 days so you can imagine what my answer will be... I feel like im in the Truman show that there's people actually willing to part with this kinda cash!
