Thank you for your kind words. Yes, its a been a tough few days, but I am thankful my position is relatively mild compared to a lot of other people who have suffered a whole lot worse these last 12 months.
sorry to hear it’s been tough for you. Like you say - she already caught covid so it seems like such a strange excuse to say they fear for her health! I remember seeing your posts before that you’d broken up previously too so I hope you don’t waste your efforts in trying to get her back.

Need to rant but need some reassurance I’m not the worlds worst mum please.

My baby has just gone one and learnt to walk. He is my first. We went for a walk round a country park near us today and he was on his reins and toddling away. He loves dogs and always stands and laughs and points at them. If they come up to him then he loves it and he will stroke them and he adores them. Obviously we’ve never had a bad experience.

Today a pit bull Wasnt on a lead and came hurtling towards him and pushed him to the ground. He couldn’t get himself back up because the dog was in the way. I was so panicked. I tried lifting him and the dog kept pushing him back down. All that was racing through my mind was the dog was going to kill my baby. I picked him by the fabric of his puddle suit and got him away and the dog owner put the dog on a lead. I could tell he felt bad. I didn’t walk away because I didn’t want to instill fear into my son. I wanted him to think the dog just knocked him down so we didn’t really cause a fuss but my baby was hysterical.

I just wish I said to the guy now how the dog should have been on a lead and I’m so so paranoid he might do this to another toddler and it could be worse.

I can’t stop thinking about the situation and I feel really bad. My husband said the dog was playing but I don’t see it like that at all. We are both dog lovers and we love our son being around dogs but this has shaken me so much and I can’t help thinking “what if” and how I should have said something different to the owner. I feel such a bad mum and like I’ve failed at looking after my baby.
I thought pit bulls were banned in the UK. I adore dogs but pit bulls used to scare me. It certainly should not have been off the lead.

You did nothing wrong though and didn't cause your little one any worry. Take a deep breath. Toddler is safe and tomorrow is another day. 💖

I'm not even that old but I can remember when newsreaders/broadcasters just read the news and interviewed guests in a professional manner. I'm sick to the back teeth of people like kirsty wark, emily matis, peirs morgan, john snow, james o'brien etc being paid loads to give their own personal opinion, and on such a huge platform too, and then having the temerity to have a go at people who don't agree with them. Same with the radio. Talk radio presenters cutting callers off if they dare disagree or have a different opinion.

My neighbour has been in and out multiple times tonight (after 12.00am), banging all the doors each time she comes and goes. Then whoever is collecting and dropping her off sits outside with their diesel engine running the whole time.

Please let me move to my own island! 🤬

This stupid reaction came back and I still don't know what's causing it 2 months in because my doctor has only been shoving antihistamines down my throat instead of doing something else for a change. I'm frustrated and upset, I don't want to go to the hospital in this damn pandemic for a second opinion or tests but I don't want to live with this thing without any solution either. It's such a minor thing compared to what people deal with with it's relentless and I feel like crying, I'm sick of it.

Hives/urticaria. Literally everything can trigger it (hot, cold, food, exercise, stress, pressure, clothes, chemicals, sun, water..??) apparently so I have nothing. It came out of the blue in December and there is just about zero solution apart from eliminating the triggers, which is spiffing when I haven't a clue what's causing it. Thank you for offering help <3 I need to see an immunology specialist rather than my current doc but I'm stressed about the hospital environment.

<3 yes it would be best to do blood tests and allergy/intolerance tests! tbh even with all that i still have situations where i have no idea what caused it and just feel like i have to add something new to the list xd do you have something to help momentarily? i always slather myself in aloe vera gel

Doctor gave me an ointment and I'm also taking antihistamines regularly, it's not a burdensome treatment, I'm just sick of not knowing and it not going away 😭 I already have allergic asthma, I really didn't want to watch out for more ambiguous triggers yet here we are. Sorry you deal with allergies too, it's really annoying.

I have the exact same thing! It’s really frustrating when the trigger literally seems to be anything (same list as you). My GP had referred me for allergy testing but the allergy centre said it wasn’t something specific to test for so rejected the referral and I’ve just had my dosage of antihistamines increased and been told to avoid triggering it. Which is impossible... even getting dressed triggers it, I get red patches from where I pull on/off clothes!

I’m sorry you are going through the same thing but also it’s reassured me someone else has this too as I was honestly thinking I was crazy or was I allergic to air or something!? I first started getting it just over a year ago but I only went to the doctor in October, as I couldn’t easily go in covid peak, and then it had died down loads over spring/summer so I think cold weather and central heating makes it worse, hopefully the same will be true this year and it will ease up again, and you’ll have the same too 😊🤞

I have seizures and I had one last night. I felt so sick afterwards I just went to bed from 6.45 till when the baby woke me up this morning at 5 to 6. Fella is in work all day, been gone since 7 and not back till 5. I feel like tit and I hate feeling unwell when I'm on my own with the baby - I know that's what parents do blah blah blah but I just wish I felt my best self for him. Im just whinging I guess 😆

Ah could your husband maybe take some time off this afternoon? Especially if you’ve had a seizure and are looking after a baby on your own, I’m sure they would let him come home?!

MY WORK LAPTOP IS A PILE OF rit.

Everything seems to have decided not to work today. Tried to call our IT support and apparently I don’t exist in the system despite working there for a year and a half so they won’t speak to me. Can’t do any work. Want to through the bleeping thing out of the window.

Just feeling really down and sluggish today after having a decent couple of days. The house feels really cold despite the heating being on which doesn’t help with my motivation and mood. Really want to be able to take the kids out places again and to see family, park and walks just aren’t cutting it and the weather is crap so there’s less incentive to get out. It’s my nans birthday at the weekend and it sucks we can’t celebrate and have to settle for leaving a present at her doorstep. Facebook is getting on my bits it just seems to be full of people humble bragging about everything. I swear my feed never used to be this bad, might have to delete the app for a while because it just makes me feel inadequate and doesn’t help my mental health.

Can’t wait for kids to go to bed so I can order a secret McDonald’s and eat it in the bath whilst feeling sorry for myself (don’t judge me😅).

I really fancy a McDonald's now. I'm seriously regretting the Asda's own nuggets I put in the oven before I saw your post 😆

We must work for the same company. When I have equipment issues I can’t fix, I turn it off and walk away. Whether I sat in front of it and swear at it, or sit in front of the tv watching MAFS Australia, the work wasn’t going to get done.

I chose to eat ice cream in front of the tv. I recommend.

Yep I turned it off too. My manager had to phone IT for me to verify I was a person 🙄 I have to go into the office tomorrow so they can take over my laptop as they can’t do it unless I’m hard wired to the internet. They said to plug it in, wait for an hour and then call them. What am I supposed to do for an hour in the office on my own?!?! Cannot be botheredddd.
