sick of my neighbour letting his poor dog bark at the balcony door and leaving him outside... tried reporting it but no one cares :(
My ex neighbour was like that, he used to tie the poor dog in the garden and leave him there to go barking mad. (Pun unintended). He ended up moving but I always wonder what happened to the dog, he was a huge boy, I think a mix of some shepherd dog and a dane so god help that poor thing if he's tied to yet another tiny space to entertain himself.

this one is some kind of bird hunting dog and the poor boy needs exercise but he sounds like he just wants attention :( my heart breaks for him but literally no one cares until it's physical abuse :(

Oh this thread is going to see a lot of me 🤣

My friend is the most dramatic person ever and honestly it's draining. The problem is, a lot of the problems are of her own making and she just makes stupid decisions. She'll moan to me about how she hasn't got any money and she's struggling to pay her rent but then literally the next day will say how she's going to book a holiday to America with her friends (pre-covid obviously).

She got a pay out for something and instead of using it to clear her debt and help herself she was going to spend it on a trip to Thailand.

She's had a lot happen in the last few years don't get me wrong, but sometimes I feel like she's just chasing an image and trying to get things to say she's got something instead of doing the sensible thing. She hangs around with tit friends and she has to have a boyfriend to make her feel good/ It's really frustrating and draining and I've been thinking about cutting contact but she is a good friend and I don't want to abandon her after she's had a tit time, but I'm kind of sick of hearing the same problem over and over when she won't help herself.
Just stumbled across this thread and thought I could help.

I have a friend exactly like this. I blew my top one day and ripped into her about it all which stopped us talking for a few months. Ended up speaking to my therapist about it who essentially said I was wasting my time as she wouldn’t change and what would be better would be creating boundaries so I deal with it. She also said it was unfair to expect everyone to be and think exactly like me, and that to my friend, her feelings were valid.

I took the advice on board as my friend is very fun and a person I enjoy having in my life and I now basically deal with her in doses. I think since having a break she’s realised I wasn’t joking about the tit I said to her, so she keeps the complaining to a minimum and if she does start getting annoying I just stop responding. It’s helped massively and our conversations are much nicer, more two way and actual chat about interests/news/opinions etc. Instead of monologues of complaints.

I hate it when people get gun dogs without thinking about the space or the exercise. A dog is not a furniture, they all have their needs! If you want something to dump in a corner to look nice, get a fake plant.

Home school complaint: Having to ‘plan’ and then do a ‘first draft’ and then finally doing the actual thing by which time my kid who is 8 is sick to death of basically rehashing and rewriting the same things over and and over. I get why they do it this way and I’m sure in an actual school environment with people who know what they’re doing it works but at home it just feels like a pointless battle that nobody gets anything out of (and it’s really, really boring).

My car insurance is due , it's an ok price. I put my new address in the comparison site cos we are moving and they are all a good 200 quid more expensive, some are double.
It's the same town and the area has a better reputation. I can only think that the junctions to enter the estate are classed as accident black spots.

Aldi! I usually bring my dad to aldi once a week as he doesn’t drive, so he can do his shopping and I always pick up a few things for myself. I especially liked their knock off surf detergent liquid and their fabric softeners. But that’s beside the point!

Has anyone else notice that Aldi either changes their product or just completely discontinue it without any warning or even a replacement. It drives me mad. Cause the washing detergent I always buy they had a big 85 wash bottle of it for a fiver and I thought bargain. But it doesn’t smell the same and I find I have to rinse my clothes twice because they’re still soaked in suds when I take them out.

So, Aldi if you’re reading this, you’re a bleep.

Quoting myself but I’ve also just had my 5yo in tears because of this too. Not wanting to have to write out the exact same sentences that she wrote out yesterday for ‘planning’ into a ‘first draft’. It’s not like I can explain why they need to do it because i don’t have a clue either to be honest. Don’t even get me started on ‘text maps’ - the duck is all that about. I give up.

Literacy at primary level is ridiculous. Or maybe I’m thick but either way I can’t wait to have a break from this next week.

CBA today. People are so witchy and irate for no reason (not real life if you know what I mean). Also my downstairs neighbours have been blasting music all day when I’m already in a mood and fed up of being trapped in from lockdown 🥴😭

I think this counts as a whinge of sorts.

It’s Lunar new year and I’d usually be celebrating with family. Obviously I’m alone and feeling sad for myself. Sucks to be missing out on good food and red envelopes of money. Scared that people who normally celebrate will be scared to acknowledge it in fear of racist comments. I hope my well wishes below don’t offend anyone.

Wishing anyone reading this a happy lunar new year. May you and your loved ones be blessed with good health, success, and happiness, especially during these hard times.

My oven has broken. We’ve only had it for about 3 years. Landlord installed it after the one before broke down.

Honestly can’t say I’m surprised that it’s broken. It was literally the cheapest model LL could find. Now I am not saying that we should be given a top of the range oven but as a family we need something that is at least reliable and won’t give up after a couple of years of regular use. I am sick to death of landlords scrimping on things, when those things are actually a necessity to the people who live in their properties and then act surprised when said items break down after a short while. Ovens in particular are a sore spot for me because in our last house we had an on going battle over an oven wouldn’t heat up but the landlord flat out denied anything was wrong. We had to buy a fancy microwave with an oven setting so we could do basic meals. I’m not about that life again but also not looking forward to hearing the landlord complain about having to fulfill their responsibilities as a landlord and being made to feel like it is our fault.

Also one of the hobs is on the blink (again, cheap rit), but we’ve lived with that for a few months now since we can manage with the other 3. Partner reckons we should buy our own but what happens when we eventually move out and the next place doesn’t have a built in oven? Joys of renting.

Why do some women have to make EVERYTHING a competition? Why do they want to have the worlds worst birth? Or to brag they practically hate their husband? Do you get a medal for having the longest labour nowadays or something?

I asked my friend today if she’s doing anything for Valentine’s Day. “We don’t do anything we’ve been together 12 years why would we?” Which is basically a dig at me and my husband who have been together for only 5 years and obviously not as good as her. It’s pathetic.

Maybe she’s jealous that you and your hubby might be doing something and are still in that stage where you actually like each other? 😂

Sent a screenshot to my friends WhatsApp group of a news article saying that pubs and restaurants could be open for food and drink outside from April, and said fingers crossed! One of my friends instantly replied “lol doubt it. We’ll probably be in lockdown for the rest of the year.”

I know we’re all fed up and lockdown seems never ending but can we at least be a little bit positive/hopeful?!

Dealing with people who buy things from you via an online marketplace and make arrangements to come at a certain time or day but don't ... then place negative feedback about you when you relist it because they've mucked you around so much. Ugh! Frustrating.

When you wear something and someone asks where it’s from and they go and get the exact same thing 😫😫😫😫😫

I work in a care home, and no day is ever the same - which I suppose I should be grateful for. Sometimes it can be quite rewarding, knowing that you can enhance people's lives by doing simple gestures.
Which brings me to the point of my post, I don't have the energy to write a detailed explanation right now, but there are two very underated words that seem to be disappearing from our vocabulary - "Thank you." Believe me, I cannot emphasise the importance of these words - they go a long way in life.

Two things are really annoying me right now:
1. People who seem incapable of using the names they gave their kids. I’ve got social media friends who are all “bugs” “little legs” “mini me” “moo moo” “roo” 🤬 Like I get we all have pet names and nicknames for people around us but just once use the actual name you gave them. It’s so annoying!

2. I’ve already seen breakfast tables set up with hearts and flowers, sweet boxes and cupcakes for Valentine’s 🤢 If you want to do those things for someone you love; you crack on. Share the love, enjoy something to break up lockdown, make the most. But if you’re putting it all over Insta or FB then you’re doing it for the wrong reasons, it’s not about attention and likes. It’s supposed to be about love! Oh and romantic, in-love love while I’m ranting, not your kids 🤦🏼‍♀️
