Oh god, it's every bit as embarrassing as I'd imagined. It's so bad. She looks on the verge of a panic attack throughout and barely comes close to making a point, much less a well-reasoned, backed-up argument.

Her whole defence is: "People have free will, so it's not my fault if children follow my toxic examples and lose money, get hurt or die! I shouldn't have to be held responsible for anything! I just want money and to be able to lie about things, I don't care what happens to other people! I just get cash for influencing, it's their own fault if they get influenced! Besides, other people in the world do worse things so I should be allowed to do whatever I want without consequence!"

I love that she burns up a significant chunk of her allotted time saying, "Influencers have a very positive impact on people. I could list many examples, but I'm not going to - that wouldn't be a productive use of my time." Ruby, you're at a debate over whether influencers have a negative impact or not and you're arguing for the opposition, that's the only way you should be using your time!

I just thought I’d put this out here as I wasn’t very comfortable with one of the discussions on one of Ruby’s previous threads:
A lot of people were criticising her for sharing her location with her dad when she went out for a walk and I just want to say that there is *nothing wrong with that*. As conversations about women walking home alone have become a talking point this week in particular, I was reminded of some people slating ruby for sharing her location. As women, there is always a danger when walking alone, whether it be in rural Buckinghamshire or London - and there is NOTHING wrong with wanting to take precautions!
I was so disappointed to see so many people criticising her for it when it’s a really important precaution that many of us really unfortunately feel as if we should take.

I don't think it's fair to scoff at Ruby's supposed mental health struggles and deny that she is struggling because we simply have no way of knowing. We're not in her head, we don't know her thoughts, all we see is what she chooses to post online. So personally I don't feel comfortable laughing at her about that because I know how much it hurts when people don't take you seriously when you're being honest about your mental state.
Furthermore anxiety can be a real struggle and an actual diagnosable disorder that can be extremely debilitating. People should not have to reach the point where they're actually harming themselves or making attempts for their struggles to be taken seriously.

Honestly, if I had to choose between the two, I probably couldn't. I find them both clownish in their respective performative personas. But that's just my two cents. There is probably a valid explanation, why each of them became who they pretend to be, but I am a little bewildered by the "Marfa-fanclub" forming here. She is just as performative and weird as Rube. I find the whole family to be weird.

8:00-12:00–work at coffee shop
12:00- customer toilet is clogged—unclog toilet
12:30–someone has changed their child’s nappy on a table. Ask them politely not to.
12:30-4:00-make coffee
4:00-4:30–cry over my useless degree
4:30-6:30–tutor English
7:00–home
7:00-8:00–try and figure out how to pay council tax
8:00-8:05–have the quickest, coldest shower ever (energy bills )
8:05-8:30– eat super noodles on toast. Make a mental note to buy more food.
8:30–22:00–cry
22:30–sleep
I’ll attempt to schedule in some frolicking in nature so I too can be a productive literary queen
