I get that some small business is trying to take an advantage but Zoe? Many businesses are on the verge of surviving and Miss Ad a literal millionaire is trying to pass as struggling. She doesn't have a problem having an ad in her every vlog, why not take one more ad and give money to Holly? So many people could use the money she is trying to take out of the system when she doesn't need to. Our #girlboss is a top notch capitalist. Hope they won't forget to tell Mark to mention how generous she is in the next vlog. I honestly hope she pays Holly on the side because this is ridiculous.

I always got the impression Holly’s job was completely and utterly unnecessary anyway, just like they wanted to find her a job to do so they could have their friends around them, so the title ‘office manager’ did the job. All she ever seemed to do was arrange bake off competitions and go through Zoe’s PO Box. Hardly a real job.
100% but if I had my friend around even just to hand me one piece of paper a day and I was making millions no way in hell would my friend make just 25,000 a year

Am I the only one that doubts Zoe's making 20000 £ per post? That's ridiculous. I've seen function beauty sponsored ads all over insta. I mean what's their marketing budget?half of mil just for insta posts?? I'm not even sure many people can afford their products. Maybe she's paid for multiple posts over a longer period of time.
It's not even cost effective for the companies, not in a recession anyway.
Traditional marketing tools are cheaper at this point..like TV/press/billboards...I doubt her posts reach even 10% of her followers to justify that budget.

As much as it pains me, I very much believe it. These are standard rates for someone with her follower base. Zoe has over 9 Million instagram followers. No matter how irrelevant she is, brands will still pay a lot of money for her to advertise them.
Holly also lives in one of Alfie’s properties, so the money the government have been paying to her (obviously via the company) are going back into Alfie’s pockets!!!

The fact that other businesses have taken advantage of this scheme doesn’t make it morally right or acceptable for Zoe and Alfie to do so.
No they’re not running a charity, they are running a profitable business which has been unaffected by the CV situation, and therefore has no need for the furlough scheme. Holly could have been deployed into other duties (it’s not as if what she was doing was arguably essential, or particularly specialist anyway) and the business should have kept paying her.
People are missing the point that this is not ‘free’ money they were taking. It’s going to come out of all of our pockets in tax for years to come. And that will hit folk like us a lot harder than millionaires with clever accountants to funnel their money through in ways to minimise the tax they’ll pay.
It’s just greed, plain and simple. What do either of them ever do to give anything back? It’s all take take take, and yes that might be technically allowed, but is it morally right? No, and I’m glad they’ve been called out on it.
Definitely not ridiculous. Do a quick google about instagram ad rates for influencers/beauty gurus - once you hit over a million followers you are looking at payment that runs into the thousands for a single instagram post.
As an example, Samantha Ravndahl (beauty guru with 2 mil instagram followers) charged $8,000 for an insta post/story in 2017, and that rate is likely even higher now that she has more followers. So Zoe making £20k for an instagram post considering her following sounds about right. That rate seems absurd to us because of the minimal effort it takes to make a quick instagram ad, but it absolutely is cost effective for companies which is why people like Zoe are able to continue to charge these rates and why the companies take them up on it.
(although, it seems she has a long-term contract with FoB, so it's unlikely that the £20k rate applies to every single post. the £20k figure is likely more relevant for her one-off advertisements.)
I on the other hand think it’s low compared to how much other influencers make per post especially since Zoe still has a lot of followers. Maybe her reach isn’t as good anymore.
god that’s twisted isn’t it!! Their really is no way of justifying Zalfie using the furlough scheme. It’s for struggling businesses. Disgraceful. Especially when it was for 1 staff member. Also if they rent their offices they will likely have haggled reduced rent. If they have mostly freelancers, if there was less work they could easily have shrank down their team. But at the end of the day they are loaded and their work has been running successfully throughout lockdown. Holly could still have been given some form of work. Our office manager had the company phone line directed to her and she carried on dealing with emails plus putting together risk assessments and action plans, protective measures for returning to the office.

I STILL don't know how this was released to promote her colour pop range!!! It's truly awful!! Yet when I said as much when it first launched I was called all the names under the sunWow this makeup is atrocious. Who did this?! Almost as bad as that colourpop makeup she had done for the release of her eyeshadow palette
