She’s probably including nursery fees which could easily add up for 2 children.
It’s for engagement, and then generates income .Her kids are 10 and 12/13, so nursery fees aren’t really relevant to her debt now so I don’t know why she’s still harping on about it
The thing is too people could wipe her debt (again) she’d still be in debt a year later as she takes no accountability in her stupid spending or sees herself as the problem!!She goes on like having adhd should mean her debt shouldn’t stand, like she should be let of because she’s neurodiverse. Sorry Yasmin but it doesn’t work like that. ADHD or not (I have adhd and have managed to always keep myself out of debt) it’s not an excuse to get into 50k worth of debt
Saw a video by another creator who suggested the reason she didn’t do the paperwork for her son’s school places on time was because of her ADHD, and he missed out on their first choice as a result. And there’s no appeal allowances for neurodiversity reasons. She goes on like having adhd should mean her debt shouldn’t stand, like she should be let of because she’s neurodiverse. Also, if you know you have ADHD and are conscious you have a child’s school placement to confirm, wouldn’t you try to enlist help from a grandparent/sibling/friend to help you?Saw a video by another creator who suggested the reason she didn’t do the paperwork for her son’s school places on time was because of her ADHD, and he missed out on their first choice as a result. While I don’t disagree that there are obstacles faced by neurodiverse people, and it can be a lot harder to complete tasks that others take for granted, I don’t like this seemingly new trend for some people of never having to take accountability for anything because of it. Because when does it end? If you can blame everything on ADHD then you never have to admit to any mistakes ever again. It undermines the actual difficulties neurodiversity causes.
My credit card balance, which I was capable of paying off in full, doubled due to late fees & interest thanks to my ADHD-related forgetfulness. It's the first time I've ever missed bill payment(s), and I can't understand why I just didn't pay it straight away. She goes on like having adhd should mean her debt shouldn’t stand, like she should be let of because she’s neurodiverse. Despite my ADHD, I'm a sucker for many admin-related tasks. Just before Christmas I completed my niece's primary school application form on behalf of my brother & his wife. I'm not being funny, but school admission forms are incredibly straightforward and only take like 10 mins to complete!Saw a video by another creator who suggested the reason she didn’t do the paperwork for her son’s school places on time was because of her ADHD, and he missed out on their first choice as a result. I think this is what it comes down to, it’s really crappy that having ADHD/being neurodiverse might mean you sometimes miss deadlines or struggle to complete tasks, but you need to put things in place to combat that, and take accountability if it fails. It’s not fair that others don’t have those same struggles, but it doesn’t take away the reality of the situation. ‘I can’t help it, it’s my ADHD’ helps nobody and only hurts yourself in the long run.My credit card balance, which I was capable of paying off in full, doubled due to late fees & interest thanks to my ADHD-related forgetfulness. Did I try to avoid accountability and beg to have the late fees & interest wiped? Nope! I paid the balance in full & learned a valuable lesson. Obviously if the balance was unaffordable for me to clear in one go, I would've reached out to my credit card provider and asked to set up a payment plan. If only I had the audacity to cite my ADHD as the cause of many problems in my life![]()
I came here to say that same. I can’t see the point in these debt stories other than to highlight she’s not the only one irresponsibly spending money? The latest one ‘the system is designed to trap you’ well it’s not tho is it. If you’ve borrowed money you’ve reaped the rewards of that system yet now you can’t pay it back the system has trapped you? Maternity pay isn’t great no, but you’ve have 9 months to save and prepare. If you couldn’t afford a bigger car you should have waited until you could. I don’t get the point of the storiesWatching her debt story videos I feel like I might just be the anti christ tbh, because I’m judging all of them? I know financial literacy (and even literacy itself!) is poor in this country, but we all know that owing someone money isn’t gr8 right? And know that owing banks money means you’ve got to pay for the pleasure? Like there’s a difference between not optimising your cash holdings by investing and…… narrowly avoiding bankruptcy for the second time by adding your £52k unsecured consumer debt to your ever growing mortgage?
Yes!! And if anything, it demonises debt which is against them and their interests? Planned and affordable borrowing is great, very few people can buy a property cash, so a mortgage is a life changingly gr8 line of credit. Using credit cards can be great for section 7 protections, or if you use the deals spreading the cost of big ticket items. My elderly in laws lease their car and love the flexibility/reassurance it gives them. Lots of good things can come from borrowing money sensibly, just none of these lot seem to do that?! And instead of admitting they ducked up it has to be a conspiracy theory of big bank™️. Lenders are SO regulated (which is why she can’t wiggle out of any of this debt!) you don’t get duped into maintaining a 5 figure Amex bill for months/years on end, you have to choose that lifestyle for urself?!If you’ve borrowed money you’ve reaped the rewards of that system yet now you can’t pay it back the system has trapped you?
