Are you a roast chicken by any chanceThe crispy skin on my body.
I feel your painFinding other people annoying everywhere I go. When I was younger I thought my parents moaning about parking, traffic, rude sales people, bad service, prices of things, “youths” etc was just them being old and boring. But now?!? OMG everything gets to me!! Just been to the cinema and the amount of people talking, looking at their phones, putting their feet up on the occupied seats in front of them, getting up and going and coming back…..ugh. Don’t pay to go places and then not make the most, and certainly don’t spoil it for others!!
Signed, Grandma BonBon (I’m 42, not 82, but I feel it)
No experience in life has made me feel old like my dad dying did. I was in my 30s, and he was in his 80s ,and the experience of am elderly person on end of life took a bit innocence away from me.Doing really responsible 'old people' shit - planning & attending uncle and dad's funerals last month. Then sorting the contents of uncle/aunts house and readying it for sale, last month into this.
Holding a clutch of LPA's for mum/aunt - being the contact on all boring household 'stuff' such as gas, electric, insurance etc, for them as well as my family.
I'm 2 birthdays away from 50. I don't remember my mum and dad doing this for their parents as young, certainly not for aunts/uncles. That said, my aunt had no kids, and my uncle did everything financial/household. Its been relatively easy as they hoarded bills etc right back to the 70's, so it was just finding the more pertinent ones that still had a relevent purpose.
It'll be a relief when the aunts place is sold as its the other side of the country and sorting stuff 'remotely' is a ballache even with a top notch next door neighbour who can pop in to 'rescue and send' stuff.
You’re a CHILD!I feel physically sick. You’ve just made me realise I’m closer to my 50s than being a teen. Oh my good god.
