I was a die hard Westlife fan back in the day, followed them around the country in tours, went to Sligo mire times than I care to remember lol. I've met them all at various times throughout the years, mostly in Sligo.

Kian always had the reputation among the fans as being the moodiest, and to be fair he was lol. I met him and Jodie in Strandhill where they live, and both were lovely. They sat at the table next to me just across from the sea, had a wee chat on and off, both friendly and just relaxed.

Nick and Georgina I've met twice. Once in Dublin Airport, they were at the baggage belt, both were very tired, very quiet, but didn't seem to have an air of arrogance or anything. And second time was in Swords randomly lol. They were going in a shop I was coming out of, there was speculation of a tour so I just asked him and he laughed and told me yeah and it'd be announced in a couple of days.

Shane and Gillian I've met a few times, once in Aberdeen Airport and a few times in Sligo. he actually gave me and my friends tickets for a concert we couldn't get any for. I've met them both in a pub too, they sat with us for 10 mins and bought a round for us when leaving.

Mark I've met twice, once at the sound check in London, he came over to chat while the sound guys were doing something, and once at Loch Gill near Hazelwoods, we were walking around the trail and him and then bf Kevin were coming the other way. Stopped for a couple mins and gave us advice on pubs for that night

I’ve met Shane twice. Once with Westlife, once without. Both at album signings so you would think they would have their game face on.

When I met Westlife It was for their greatest hits album signing and they were doing a whistle stop uk tour. We were the first stop. There was about 50 girls there maybe more. We had camped out on the city street overnight in November which the lads knew as they had been tweeting about it. They turned up late. (After 12) and when we went in they were sat in silence. There was an atmosphere. If they lads had just had a big argument I would not have been shocked.
They signed the albums in silence. It was so weird. Only Nicky spoke to us and said hello. I think Mark uttered a hello as did Kian but it was very obvious they didn’t want to be there. I’m not saying I expected a really long interaction, I didn’t but it was just very weird overall. If this was me bumping into them on a night out I could understand the animosity but this was their job, they could barely crack a smile. My friends noticed it too.

The time I met Shane at his second solo album signing. This time I took my then boyfriend now Husband along. I had just had abdominal surgery so probably shouldn’t have been out but it was Shane. When we got to the front of the queue I was sore, very tired. Shane was sat at a desk signing albums and you could stand beside him and lean over ans get a photograph as he signed it. When it was my turn I asked him very politely if he could stand up so I didn’t have to lean, explained I was post surgery. He tutted and sighed as If I had just asked him to run a marathon. It made me feel about two inches tall.

I’ve met a few famous people, by far Shane was the worst of them.

Gosh this would be really upsetting to experience at an organised fan event. I’ve never met Westlife but have met most of Boyzone and all of Take That.

By contrast when I went to Take That’s Beautiful World album signing, Jason was getting annoyed that we were all being moved on too quickly and we weren’t able to say much to him! I think the others were chatting to fans so much the line wasn’t moving as quick as the staff wanted and so everyone got moved along as soon as they reached Jason at the end.

I have heard bad stuff, don't get me wrong, but I've always been lucky. Jake, their tour manager, spotted us at Croke Park and gave us Golden Circle bands cause we're up in the Hogan Stand. Stalking them, I mean following them lol, for years probably helped to be fair, but I don't have any bad experiences with them.

Met Mark and Shane's mum and dad at SECC in Glasgow. They were so lovely! Proud as punch

my dd worked in a big hotel in Blackpool after leaving school and quite a lot of stars stayed there who were doing shows etc. She accidentally ended up in a lift complete with her cleaning trolley ( she cleaned the rooms) with a visibly horrified Ronan Keating and his minder. She said he made her feel like some kind of sub human just for being a cleaner and having audacity to be in same lift as him. His minder stopped the lift so she could get out even though it wasn't her floor. She was so furious she looked at him and said 'Shumthing' to say Ronan' in reference to how he pronounces 'something' in the opening line of 'When the going gets tough'. He complained to the management but my dd beat him to it and resigned as was leaving soon anyway.

I went to a Gary Barlow concert (no judging) at the Royal Albert Hall in 1997.

Afterwards my mum said we could wait outside to see if I could get an autograph, it appears there was a bit of a get together inside and a few pop stars of the time came out like 911 (one of which was inviting me back to his- I looked older but, still) and someone no one will remember called Connor Reeves who was lovely.

Everyone has had a drink but it seemed pretty tame.

Then Boyzone came out (minus Mikey) and had probably drunk a bit more, Stephen Gately couldn't stand or really talk and was almost carried to the car.

I asked politely for an autograph (there was a max of 10 people waiting) and they went mental shouting why should they? I wasn't at their concert and they weren't getting any money or anything from it.

I was shocked and just said nothing, and my mum said to just ignore them they were just being silly because they'd had a few drinks.

They then all got into the car / people carrier.

After 5 mins or so the window rolls down and RK calls over to me and says they're sorry, it's just a bit late and they were wrong, come over and they'll sign my programme.

I went over and had to lean into the window to hand my book to him at which point whilst cackling he presses the button to shut the window on my head.

At which point my mum walked over, made sure I was ok, opened the door and punched him straight in the face.

I was team Boyzone, never liked Ronan outside of being a band member though even as a child there must be something about him.

Went to many Boyzone concert and saw the original WestLife lineup as their support act in the mid-late nineties.

Back then Boyzone felt so huge i never would of thought “the shitter Boyzone, WestLife” would have become way more successful and lasted longer.

Seems to be less egos in WestLife? (After Brian the one big walking ego himself left )I grew out of being too interested in them after flying without wings, i think i became a teenager and discovered garage music i thought i was too cool or something!

Have to say i did loved seeing Mark on the masked singer recently, always seemed a really decent bloke.
