I came straight here when I seen their announcement. I think there is something bigger at play too. I hope there isn't but I feel like there is. I really hope he's OK but I fear the worst.

I agree he’s not posted on social media since a year ago (yesterday) and he looked very thin in his post. I really hope we’re all wrong and he’s just had enough of it as his daughter is so young it would be tragic if anything happened. He was also the only member of the band not to attend Louis’s mums funeral last week.

It was sepsis wasn’t it? Its been a long time since I’ve listened to Westlife (Shane being a wick to me twice really put me off them) but I would feel really funny seeing then without Mark.

He contracted sepsis after an operation but he recovered from it. Hes then had ongoing health issues since, whether it's stemmed from there or not, I don't know, but I do think there's more at play. I'm going to put it out there...cancer maybe? He has had a lot of voice and throat issues. So maybe? I do hope not.

That's not good to hear about Shane, have met all of them on numerous occasions, together and separately, and don't really have anything negative to say about them. Kian can be a hit and a miss. He's always brutally honest though, so he doesn't bother me.

This was his post from Feb 2024. He’s obviously entitled to share as little or as much as he wants but it’s noticeable to me he doesn’t name the original surgery but then does name sepsis, pneumonia and later a hernia. But nothing about the main cause for all of it. I too am seriously concerned about cancer especially coupled with the weight loss and the long term uncertainty with his recovery.

Also whilst he hadn’t posted much before, he has not posted at all for a year. Nothing for his daughter’s birthday, or his own, or for Pride. All things he’s posted about regularly each year. And nothing for this latest update either. It suggests to me he may be more sick now than he was a year ago?

He does have his dates wrong here, it was late 2022 he had to cancel the Newcastle gig and then summer 2023 he had to miss more of the tour.

Pneumonia sounds lile hiv or aids.
The medication these days means you don’t even have any of the HIV antibodies in you blood it’s so effective. You can just live a normal life so I doubt it’s that.

I agree...I know of someone but it could be the latter. Ur immune system is compromised either way or so I thought

Oh god, I really am so worried about him.

I last saw them in Manchester when the next day Mark posted saying after this gig, he felt feverish and couldn’t go on stage in Newcastle. And he later confirmed he had pneumonia. We felt so lucky we got to see him and there was no sign at all he was poorly. i really hope we see him back on stage soon.

This isn’t my video, I wish I was this close, but it’s from the same night and his voice was as incredible as always.
