Interesting as I saw that les mis production with Gareth Gates and he was awful, I enjoyed the rest though lol. That said this new production isn't a patch on the original

For me this would be a good thing. Went to the 2 shows in one day and it was too long. The story was drawn out and just done to get more money out of you. Even the merch changed. It could easily be one show

Gareth Gates I'm dead 🤣
I read this as Gareth Gates is dead and GASPED! I saw him recently in SpongeBob (which I thought was the worst musical I’ve ever seen) and he was far to happy to be Squidward. He was quite good as Warner in Legally Blonde a couple of years back though!

I saw SpongeBob a few weeks ago too and omg it was awful. Biggest waste of money ever.

i saw him in legally blonde and enjoyed him too (saw duncan james in the same role way back and he was also very good).

i did also see gg in the aforementioned les mis tour though and he was godawful - saw it twice and he completely botched the big note in empty chairs both times 🤣 to this day i have never heard a voice crack so badly. other than when i saw cinderella and the prince had one (and i was close enough to see the terror in his eyes when it happened).

Gareth Gates was also terrible and frankly offensive in Footloose, he played Willard as if he had pretty severe learning difficulties. It was like he was doing an impression of the brother in Scary Movie.

I was lucky enough (AHAHAHA) to get a free ticket as I know someone who works at the theatre and it just didn’t sell, they had to close the circle and the balcony. The people in front of us left during the interval. I just couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. Terrible.

My first thought when I saw he’d been cast as Squidward was “he’s way too happy to play that role”. I’m glad you’ve confirmed that (and also justified my decision not to see it last time I was in London.

Incidentally, I saw frozen a couple of days before Sam Barks’ pregnancy announcement and it did cross my mind that they’d let her dress and top out a little and maybe she was in the early stages of pregnancy… but turns out she’s 6 months pregnant! You’d never know it from the way she moved around the stage and belted out the big notes. The woman is a powerhouse 💪🏼

Any news on when/if the Six pro shoot is ever getting released? I am sure that’s been well over a year now since it was filmed

Is just me who can’t stand theatreboard ?
I'm not a big fan. It's really gone down hill since covid, even posters I used to like have become quite unbearable. Also the one thread per show rule kills conversion and makes it difficult to find information.

It has its uses at times, but I don't use it as much as I used to.
