Hey 👋🏻 this was me this time last year! After my second baby, second c section and second time I put on a lot in pregnancy. I felt absolutely disgusting. I lost the first stone fairly easily with just calorie counting then the next stone I did the 800 calorie Michael Mosley thing which is a bit controversial to some people and I thought I’d literally did eating that few calories but I actually managed it for two weeks and lost another stone. However, although I managed it it made me so miserable that I don’t think I could do it again. I then started with a nutritionist and pt and lost another stone which is where I’ve stayed for the past year. So I’m currently on hopefully my final journey to lose another then I’ll be so much happier (although still another stone of my first baby pre weight). My nutritionist told me off for doing 1,200 calories, she said it’s not sustainable. So she worked it out at 1,300 every day then 1,500 on a Friday and Saturday and tbf it did work. I’ve just used the James Smith PT macro counter and it’s given me 1,400 so I’m going to try and aim between 1,200/1,400. Walking with the pram was the best thing ever for me, I used to pop my headphones in and walk for miles. Good luck and be kind to yourself, you have just grown, birthed and are now caring 24/7 for a tiny baby. Super woman 💪🏻 you will get back to your happy place in time 😀

Growing these babies is no joke 🤣 never had a problem with getting the weight off with my first. But this time I look in the mirror and I feel so low!!

I think for me replacing unhealthy quick snacks with fruit and veg is a big one. Im forever opening the cupboard and just grabbing anything i can see just out of boredom! Also moving more. The last few months I've been stuck to the sofa, I've been so lazy. I need to walk every day and get into a routine.

Very similar starting weight and goal weight to me.

Work out your calories via TDEE calculator, its unlikely 1200 is the correct amount for you
Whats a TDEE calculator? I'm off too Google it now 🤣

It’s your ‘total daily energy expenditure’ - aka it estimates the amount of calories you burn in a day - through exercise, activity and just your normal bodily functions - heart beating, breathing etc. You then subtract 500 or so from this number to calculate your calorie deficit - a deficit of 500 a day means you should lose around 1lb a week. ☺

Hi all, going to join this thread if that's OK! I have two stone to lose (thanks lockdown 2020 lol) not in any mad rush tbh, as long as there is a loss and I feel better in myself I'll be happy! Just getting over Covid and it has now hit the rest of my house so I am setting myself a target of 5K steps per day as the fatigue is real and then i will gradually increase it - walking is the only exercise I like tbh lol. So here goes nothing 🙈 looking forward to seeing everyone's stories on this thread.. going to use them to motivate and inspire me! X

My starting weight on 1st Jan was 170.8lbs, today's weight is 163.2lbs. Quite pleased with that.

I have been using an app called Libra to document my daily weight. It gives an average weight too, so today my average weight/trend line is 166.1lbs... it means the odd day I increase in water weight etc the trend line is still decreasing. The app has a graph for the trend line which I think is helpful to see too.

Yes I love Libra for this too. I was going to ask if anyone else weighs in every day. I find it keeps me focused and takes the emotion out of it; I know one carby dinner will cause my weight to be higher in the morning but that it'll soon come back down again.

I weigh everyday for that exact reason. With Libra I just see it as a numbers game. Last weekend I opened a bottle of wine, I knew I'd weigh more the day after and looking back I went from 168lbs, to 170lbs then down to 166.4lbs the following day. Previously I would have thrown the towel in seeing a 2lb increase over one day.!

Hi people.
New to this thread I've come over from the truffalo/hambeast thread.
My weight loss story.
I was around 9/10 stone and a size 10/12 before kids. After kids well I needed energy so started up on the lucozade/fizzy drinks thinking that would help energy wise. Also used to finish off my kids plates when they left food after tea aswell as my own. I could and still in fact can make a cottage pie and easily finish off the whole tray afterwards 😂
My hubby worked late in his old job wouldn't get home till round midnight most nights and I couldn't be arsed cooking for us only the kids so takeaways were a regular thing. I soon shot up to 15 stone and was a size 16/18/20 depending on where I shopped. I was really unhappy but just didn't have the motivation or mindset to do anything about it.after years of being unhappy I finally decided enough was enough. I also gave up smoking when I became pregnant and I think that also contributed massively to my weight gain, could be wrong maybe I was just a greedy guts.
Anyway I started out by getting rid of the high sugar fizzy drinks and swapped them for fizzy flavoured sugar free water at first. Then to normal flavoured water and eventually just water, I still prefer flavoured water though sugar free. Tesco/Asda most supermarkets do Thier own versions for very cheap 40-60 pence big bottles.
Next I cut out takeaways and crisps all together. Opted for fakeaways. Grilled chicken pitta salad for a homemade chicken kebab. I never stopped mayo or dressings either. I stuck to mainly a keto type diet. Spag bol but with shredded cabbage instead of pasta. With keto they say u can still have cheese and healthy fats like nuts yoghurts ect so I was happy with that. However keto they say no carbs whatsoever. I couldn't deal with no carbs as they are energy so I just opted for a lower number of carbs than usual. My roast dinners I'd have around 10-12 roast potatoes before ! Now I have around 3/4 and sometimes can't even finish all of them.
For working out I didn't do nothing major I'd tried all sorts of bootcamps personal trainers ect but just didn't work for me plus I was self conscious due to my size so never felt comfortable in a group or gym. I never calorie counted or anything like that either. I simply ate what I wanted but with a smaller portion of carbs and more vegetables than usual. And obb the water instead of my beloved fizzy drinks. Then I spent most days/nights in the summer months with my Spotify on and taking a brisk walk down the prom for around 1-2 hours each day or night. I can't run for tit and couldn't even do a sit up at that point without feeling like I was gunna drop dead so brisk walks I found easier and also calming after stressful days. I went from 15 stone down to 8 and a half stone within around 9 months.
Sorry for the essay what worked for me may not work for everyone I'm not a dietitian or nutrition specialist or anything and I don't know everything. I just wanted to share incase anyone else wanted to try and hopefully it helps someone. I piled a little bit on over Xmas but I really don't hate myself for it I am planning to start my walks again on Monday (I always say this but when Monday comes there's an excuse 😂) but I really hope I can start trying to be abit healthier again. Also I found five guys burgers they do without the bun which is nice but I still have burgers with the bread also depending on how I'm feeling. I just don't have huge amounts like I used to smaller plates I found buying helped also with portion control. xx

I use libra and daily weigh also, although I find it depressing when my time line changes to N/A or something ridiculous like July 2023 😅 my initial target is 12st and I'm 13st9.6lb presently

I weigh daily too, just getting back into it though after having a slump for a couple of months 😬😬 it's definitely better for me to see how my weight can fluctuate so much in one single day. I understand how weighing daily could become an obsession for some people but it definitely helps me keep my head straight with it all!

Hi all! Parking myself here!
Heaviest weight I’ve been was 14 stone at start of lockdown. Went down to 12 1/2 stone and then kind of gave up/lost motivation a while ago. I’m getting back on it now! Calorie Counting, no booze and no gluten (I’ve just been diagnosed as coeliac which could’ve been inhibiting my weight loss).
So far 6lbs down this year, not a bad start! Always found I have a great start though and struggle to keep going but I’m determined this year will be different!
F5ft4, SW 182lbs, current weight 175.5lbs, goal weight 120lbs for reference

Interestingly after a week off eating a tit tonne of fruit and veg I had my first regular loo trip in sooooo long! I’m normally horribly constipated so this was a lovely revelation for me! 🤣

definitely feeling trimmer round my tummy, but it’s not showing on the scales still.

I'm a daily weigher, I prefer it as you get to know the things that make your weight fluctuate from day to day. I find I don't stress if one day I'm up 2lb, as I know the next day I could well be under by 2! I use the Renpho scales and app to keep track 🙂

Omlettes
Homemade soups
Burger bowl - loads of recipes online
Pizza made on a wrap (you can get low carb ones)
Stuffed mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes etc

Carbs don’t make you gain weight and are your bodies main source of energy so anything in moderation is the best way forward rather than eliminating whole food groups
