Oooo this is a thread I can get involved in! Got engaged week before Christmas after 7 and half years together (8 years in August) and we are booked for April 2026 at the most beautiful venue ever 🥰 We will have known eachother for 10 years when we get married. I’ve booked our registrar, and found a photographer I like and a couple of hair and make up artists but can’t decide which one lol. I am desperate to start doing things but it feels too soon 😂
Congratulations!

It might not be too early! I got engaged in October 2023 and booked my venue in November for March 2025 and when I was messaging photographers some were already booked and some makeup artists etc! Some open their books a couple of years in advance and for the ones I’ve booked I’ve had the benefit of locking in their 2023/2024 prices for next year before they increase! 😊

Congratulations! It does feel that way but you'd be surprised! We got engaged in September 2023 and by November, we had booked our venue and photographer for our June 2025 wedding. If you're still unsure, then maybe take the time to decide properly so you don't regret your decision, but I'd definitely secure the suppliers you're sure off! The sooner you book, the longer you have to save too 😂 💸

Hi everyone,

I'm finally starting our wedding invites and love a few of the designs on Vistaprint (I used them for my save the dates and it was so straight froward) :)

but was just wondering, what is the best site out there to set up a wedding website and get a QR code to add to out invites so that people can RSVP that way if they wish

Thanks :)

Do they come on nice card from vista print or paper?

Amazing, thank you!!
You’re welcome :)

You can get little stickers or stamps and matching envelopes too and you can choose if you want your invites with foil designs or round corners etc. I thought they were really good value too and honestly couldn’t fault them so it’s why I’ve decided to stick with what I know and use them for the invites/place cards

I think I’ve said before I used vistaprint for all sorts (and Canva) and really rated it.

@Tinkerbell cat you can generate QR codes for free on vistaprint 👌🏼👌🏼 I think it was hard to find on the website but if you google vistaprint QR code it comes up.

I used withjoy for my wedding website which looked good and was pretty easy to use but I couldn’t figure out the RSVP bit for the life of me so I just did it by text and logged it all on a spreadsheet 😂

I agree with @Hamburglar ! I’ve designed mine on vista print and have a QR code I generated through there and I’m pretty sure the RSVP site is With Joy! I’ve tested it a few times and people have to put their name in or they can’t RSVP! Just need to actually order my invites they’re in my basket waiting 😂

Oh I’m definitely going to book the photographer this month! I just can’t decide on the hair and make up as they’re similar and similar prices.

By too early, I mean like I wanna start making and sending out my stationary, making my welcome sign and ask my bridesmaids etc (waiting because got a bestie getting married next month and i’m MOH next year too so want them to have their moments) and I’m leaning towards making my own aisle and table centre pieces so it’s definitely too soon for that 😂

Girl maths mean that if you start now, they'll be free by the time you get married 😂

Aw I was like this I literally couldn’t wait! I asked my bridesmaids as it was my sister and two friends so they probably knew it was them anyway 😂 I started buying little bits though like for bridesmaid boxes the morning of and have cake topper etc ready! I did little bits so like @_Laura said - it will feel free by my wedding 😂

Thanks lovelies xx

I actually managed to get a QR code via the hitched site and I've got my invites and RSVP cards etc all now sitting in my basket to be ordered from Vistaprint :)
That hitched site was pretty good I thought - we were able to put all our guest list in and there is a section where we can do the table plans too which is handy!

I think if I started making aisle and table centre pieces now, my fiancé might cancel the wedding. I already annoy him with all the skincare and beauty stuff I get sent 🤣🤣🤣 need another spare room for wedding!

Yeah! I’m trying to pick up little bits here and there like I won a tiktok bridal giveaway for a fine jewelry brand so there’s my jewelry and some bits for bridesmaids sorted 🤣 I’ve found some pjs I want for the morning of too!

I’ve got some standing orders going out weekly to cover things like our registrar, wedding hair and make up, and wedding photography so i shouldn’t notice them much and will top them up here and there where I need to! So hopefully that helps !

Hi just me again, back looking for advice on my hen party.

I've been overthinking it the last couple of days so I thought I would come here and vent with my fellow brides.

I made a group at the start of the year for my hen party, I wanted to be in the group to add the people I wanted there and to make sure we were going somewhere that I wanted as I didn't want a hen abroad.
Anyway, pretty much everyone that could make it paid their money for their flights ( we live in Ireland and are going to England for it).. and all was fine.
fast forward to now, when my hen is in a few months and I wanted to sort the hotel/Airbnb -mainly so it's done, prices don't hike, and I can leave the group chat so that outfits, etc can be a surprise.
I've left a message in the group asking can people let me know if they can still make it so I know how many rooms to request for prices within the accommodation, and all but 2 people have responded - the 2 that haven't, I've sent them private messages, messages on social media. They just don't acknowledge them or reply and its really getting to me. I understand they might not be able to come, or they aren't 100% sure yet but its more the fact they can read and message and just blank me. Like what do I do here?
Do I keep chasing them or just go ahead and book the accommodation without them and then let the group chat know I've booked the hotel for those that did get back to me...?

I can see why people don't plan their own hen parties  how hard is it to just simply let someone know, and if you aren't sure just let them know that.

I would message and say you’re booking XYZ today and if they don’t get back to you you will assume they no longer are coming and won’t be booking them a place. Don’t worry about chasing them anymore - if they are true friends, they will do the right thing. If not, duck em x

I am in the middle of getting the rooms sorted now so I think I will just post in the GC that I've booked rooms for those who did get back to me and assume anyone who didn't isn't coming - god I hope it doesn't sound rude but I think its just not very nice to read someone's message and then ignore it or blank it.
I probably should have just let one of my sisters look after the whole thing xx

Not exactly wedding planning related but good to get advice from brides to be.

Thoughts on this as a wedding guest dress / if someone wore it to your wedding?

Most people I’ve spoken to have said it’s lovely/ absolutely fine, but one friend has queried how the colours would look in photos, would the black be visible enough for the dress not to look plain cream? This hasn’t crossed my mind at all as the stripes are very obvious but now she’s said it I’m overthinking and don’t want to be “that person”. I’m just a plus 1 so wouldn’t imagine I’ll be in any professional photos or even a photo with the bride!

Hmm personally I wouldn’t, I would raise an eyebrow if someone wore this to mine but that’s just my opinion x
