Thank you guys, I think it’ll be enough! Especially with other desserts 🥰 I was just so worried about running out of cake lol! But people will be too busy dancing/drinking at the end of the night to worry about cake haha 💕

Our cake was £400 and it was 3 tiers. My mum cut ours up at the reception and handed loads out which people took home. Then we handed loads out to people who couldn’t come the day after. There’s a tiny bit of my cake left!

Re costs with my photographer. I wouldn’t say I scrimped on mine because it’s “cheap”. £450 for four hours, no hard copies is about average in the area of the north west I’m in and to be fair my photographer is very good, even if they aren’t expensive. (Although they have upped their prices this year). That was for two photographers as well.

Cakes are expensive, we have 4 different sets of dietary restrictions so we’ve got cupcakes but we didn’t tell her they were for our wedding reception, just a family party. As she needs specialist ingredients we knew it would be expensive enough without the wedding price tag 🙈

We're having a dessert table. 3 single tier cakes, and a tit ton of other goodies! It was £320 but I got a good deal.

Agree with cake, we had loads left over (I didn’t even eat any on the day itself but we both had two slices for breakfast the next day 😆) so would definitely advise knowingly undercatering on this.

Amazing thanks - do you mind sharing the name of your venue? I have been looking at Puglia and liked coco beach club but it’s only exclusive from 7 pm as they are open during the day
Sorry for the confusion, we married elsewhere in Italy (not coastal) but had our minimoon in Puglia 😊 we didn’t have a totally exclusive venue either, I wouldn’t necessarily automatically rule it out if within the venue you have areas that are exclusive to you, and you are confident there will be enough staffing to look after you and your guests.

Here’s a question. Do people still buy wedding night lingerie?!
😳 I never even thought of Lingerie. Although I’ll be braless in my dress, I should probably get nice knickers 😂. Mr P will probably be too drunk to function that night though 😂

This is the thing! I have big knickers for under my dress but we’re going away for the night am I supposed to make an effort?!

Our wedding is over the entire bank holiday weekend so I guess I better order a few things even if just for day two 😂 I’m really lucky with the cut and style of my dress that I don’t need control pants because I cannot stand them… although I did order some skims just incase I get bloated 😂.

off to take a wee look online now, does anyone have any recommendations for sexy but still bridal underwear?

I didn’t wear them all day (backless dress) but I bought a nightie and some nice lingerie for our wedding night and minimoon. I got everything from ASOS so not too expensive 😊 and some ivory silk pj’s from Accessorize for getting ready in the morning of the wedding.

I have chronic IBS so I can just drink one glass of water and I’m bloated 😂 I feel more comfortable in something high waisted due to the cut of my dress, and I have massive boobs 😂

I kind of did. I was braless anyway in my dress and I just bought some nice white lacy brief type thing from next for underneath!

I had a garter as well as I got given one for the wedding because it was blue!

How much are you guys paying for a cake? My wedding is abroad so I’ve had to look online and try and find someone I really love. I’ve asked my venue and florist too and they really recommended her.

It’s hard because I’ve never tasted her cake 😂 but a 5 tier cake is costing us £800 (but 2 layers are not real). Apparently she’s the “best of the best”, but £800 for essentially a 3 layer cake seems a lot. Then again, maybe I just don’t know cake prices 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don’t eat cake so I’d never looked into it before but, it was the one thing my husband was insistent on having 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was so shocked at the price when she showed us designs and said they were fake layers. I couldn’t believe it. But, yeah £800 sounds a decent price, especially if they’ve come recommended! We also had a macaron tower cake with matching flowers which went down a hit!

We started at 7:30am (one person doing hair, one person doing makeup) for myself and 5 bridesmaids for a 1:30 ceremony. I will say it was a bit rushed towards the end and we were only ready literally 10 mins before I had to walk down the aisle so I wish we’d started earlier now.
Same and it was a very small bridal party - we were ready just in time for church. photographer took a lio longer than I expected and there was a delay with hairdresser who did an entirely different style to what I had picked that added 40 mins to hair

Thank you!😀

I’m just quite annoyed how many said they’d turn up at night and they just never arrived… I just think it’s so rude when you plan for a certain number and loads don’t turn up and don’t even tell you why!
We had one table of 8 where 3 couples didn't show despite confirmation week before they were coming we had to swap a table around as it was near the top table and looked terrible

Honestly, cake is a waste of money. I've been to so many weddings where I've never even got a piece of the cake. Total waste. If you feed guests, nice dessert is enough. Nobody needs a second dessert. If you're having cake instead of dessert then fair enough.

Wedding favours are also a waste of time and money unless immediately edible or potable.
Very few guests ate our cake we had 3 tiers all diff flavours cut and shared with tea/coffee in evening- I didn't i wasnr going to have a cake die to price but my friend made it as her gift and it was gorgeous- I ate the choc biscuit layer for 2 weeks after 🤣🤣

That’s so annoying! People are so rude honestly! I’m lucky it was just my night guests that didn’t show, minus the maid of honour’s partner doing a runner… people don’t seem to realise that these things cost money!😡

i had the opposite problem…for my engagement party, people said they wouldn’t be able to come and then changed their mind the day before or just turned up on the day. This was a huge hassle because I had to notify my venue about the increase in numbers, then my decor company to decorate an extra table and chairs and ask my caterers to make food for extra heads.

plus I pretty much hit the capacity for the venue already, but luckily they were understanding.

Received a preview of our wedding photos today! They look amazing! Can’t believe how well they’ve turned out considering it was blowing a gale at the time!

They’ve caught some lovely naturally shots too.

This time tomorrow I’ll hopefully be on my way to Florida for our honeymoon!

I just found out that our venue doubled the rent price for next season. 😬 So happy we got it so cheap, otherwise it would be way out of our price range. And I'm also happy because I hope this will keep it a secret for a little bit longer, I would hate to see everyone else also getting married there. 🙈
