Have you tried using a volumizing dry shampoo on your roots and moisturizing the ends of your hair? I like to moisturize on dry hair so I can tell how much my hair needs. Amika dream routine overnight hydration treatment is light but good. If your ends are dry from split ends you need to get them trimmed.I have slightly wavy hair. I've always treated it like it was straight so it always just had tons of frizz and it was always so puffy.
I tried treating it like it was wavy last year but eventually gave up. I feel like the products weighed my hair down. My roots are very flat. I have baby fine hair which is almost like candyfloss.
Also, when my hair is wet my hair becomes like a massive spiderweb. I don't really know how to describe it.
My hair is really greasy at the roots yet feels like straw on the ends. I've tried so many hair masks and treatments but it never feels any different.

Any tips for the following morning? I've woken up to a birds nest.I'd say 2b 2c good products will really help your hair. Google plopping. I just use twisted sista gel on wet hair then plop in t shirt wrap for 5 mins and leave to air dry

Tbh, I don’t trust my hairdresser to dry it curly with a diffuser as he let it dry far too much the last time when he diffused the back and then curled the front with a barrel brush
So then when I washed it and diffused it myself, it looked dreadful as I don’t think it was cut for my hair type.
so, sorry for waffling, how do I ask for a cut for curly hair?!
Sounds like your hair dresser is the problem as you did ask correctly but they didn’t give you what you wanted so either didn’t listen or doesn’t know.It’ll be 8 weeks since my last haircut where I told my hairdresser I was wearing my hair naturally (curly) yet and it was cut for hair to curled with a barrel brush…. Check out reddit and facebook for curly hair groups. That's helped me get feedback on curly hairdressers in the area, and share my experiences with others. A lot of hair dressers don’t actually know how to deal with curly hair very well at all.
Like the previous poster said, do some research in your area and try and find recommendations for hair dressers specialising in curly hair cuts.
If you live near any big cities, I think that’s often where you can find more accomplished hair dressers who will understand what you are asking for. I had bad hair cuts for years and I eventually realised it was because no hair dresser was actually asking me how I wore my hair and they were just hacking into it! Finally found a good one so I’m sticking with her!
