Hey guys, I'm just flying by to say I am ok.
Since I have to stay at the office until 16:30h I am so tired all the time and have not enough hours of the day to keep up with tattle. Also, the J. Depp and Amber thing took a toll on me mentally. And I just wanted it to be over, so I don't have to see any comment regarding it.
I am trying to come back soon, I miss you all and our banter. I am just.so.tired.
I hope you are all as well as you can be.

Curioser and curioser....@Miss Midnight sent me a copy of what the mods had put up a while ago re DM. Ho9wever last week my little envelope appeared again and I was able to read old DM’s for some reason. I still can. So I sent a message to @Geranium - she did’t get it tho”. I guess the envelope was back but not useable. I wasn’t sure what was happening or if they had decided to reintroduce them.

I have great sympathy for anyone suffering with insomnia btw. It’s been the bane of my life for the last 30 odd years. It can be a bit debilitating to say the least.

Haven’t been able to post very much lately as we are really ‘silly seasoning it’ at work atm. We have a Presentation coming up on a tender we have been working on and so it’s been all hands on deck for a little while. It should mostly be put to bed half way through next week though. 🤗 Sending everyone big hugs xx
Hugs to you darling @Oops... Good luck with your tender application, fingers crossed for you that it is successful. So sorry to hear about your insomnia - it must be very very frustrating to say the least, especially when you have such a busy workload.
My envelope has also appeared but tbh, I was a bit apprehensive about using it ... don't want to get into trouble !

Hi there

Well-known member
I can highly recommend this book. I wouldn’t call it a memoir or an autobiography - it’s more like vignettes or excerpts from a diary. It is warm, honest, funny, contradictory, frustrating and absorbing. I’m not a fast reader and I read it in two days. In parts it’s very poignant and sad as we see this quest for forgiveness for her childhood abuse but you get the feeling it’s closure she needs and is never going to get. You also get an insight into the music industry and, of course, the famous Dr. Phil episode. The tearing up of the picture of the Pope on SNL is interesting because the actual picture came from her mother’s bedroom wall. She had carried it around for years, on the death of her mother, waiting for the opportunity to tear it up as it represented child abuse by the church, ignored by Pope John Paul and the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother - while keeping up appearances as a pious catholic - so it was deeply personal as well as brave. It resulted in being treated for decades as a pariah and shunned. She didn’t seem to mind as she was not about money or fame. Just as well, because by 2020 - after four years of not working due to a radical open surgery hysterectomy and resulting breakdown - she had 8k in her bank account.
Great review @Milking Keynes! Just added to my basket. Can’t wait to read it :)

I thing you are correct!

I thing @Miscanthus is correct!

I thing a cautious level of ignoring (as opposed to ignorance) is just what the Thingy ordered!

I absolutely loved the fact that @MissMidnight got exactly what I was saying with my ‘thing’ comment ( she can’t spell either) and clicked the laugh emoji! 😂
I got it too but once thingy ‘liked’ your comment, I couldn’t bring myself to as obviously she thought you were agreeing with her. She doesn’t know that you don’t ‘thing’ the same way. Oh, I should just press ignore and not get miffed!

@Oops - how glorious to hear from you! I have missed you and Teddy Bear! I just had a huge smile on my face reading your post. No, I did not jump up and down and shriek ‘gotta post, gotta post’ but FLOBBY HELL is right!! My thoughts on Casa Amor - Teddy (the second most handsome Teddy let it be said 😉🐶) will reenter the villa with Mary; they make a stunning couple - and Faye of the frankfurter lips will explode like a tornado. As to the rest, who really cares? The racing driver I also rate - he speaks properly and has manners, hence not at all popular.

The criteria is fick, beefcake, limited vocabularly, ie chat, salt, sauce, game, test, bro...and jobwise - scaffolder, plumber or PT. The girls flirting game is to suck their water bottles forcefully, shrieking and saying ‘reallllyyyyy’ to the boys fascinating and captivating ‘chat’. Yes, @Oops - utterly addictive!! 😂❤

Gem sends a hug to her beloved 🥰
Oooo yes. When I posted I completely forgot about Teddy (I do remember his name since there is an inate intelligence in him that they cannot edit out!). I sense he may hold his horses with the new girl but that they may become a ‘thing’ after the show. I sense he may not want the backlash of entering with a newbie when the time comes. He stands more chance of getting to the final if he stays single and is clever enough to have sussed that out. The footballer on the other hand will see it as yet another notch on his imaginary “I’m the most popular bloke‘ belt, to walk in with whoever will have him and then spout on about how he was given another test he had to pass and that he’s really learning so much about himself in there (on his free holiday). This is a manchild to stand up and avoid...Singularly unattractive in every way possible. Teddy on the other hand is the only attractive contributor (Both in looks, presence and personality).

Teddy Bear sends a massive hug right back to his beloved:love:

Bless you for remembering my bag dilemma! Short answer is no, not yet. I feel I need to see them in the flesh before taking the plunge and I’ve not been able to get to any stores yet.

Think the YSL one is slightly edging it in my thoughts though….
I agree! Excellent choice. Their leather is really fine grade too. Don’t forget to check out Strathberry - some of theirs are beautiful and such a good price by comparison. 💛

Good afternoon, all. My daughter started her Leaving Cert today so asking all of my wonderful friends here to send positive energy to my poor little student! Her name is Anna and she is tall, blonde and blue-eyed just so you can picture her while manifesting. ❤❤ Thank you! I know you have the most beautiful aura here on this treasured thread and I appreciate very much your helping hand in this. I do worry about her as you all know. X

I actually would love to send you a self-portrait she did but I don’t think I can, can I? She entered it into a national competition and got second. It was judged by the art critic, Waldemar Januszczak, which was quite an honour.

@Oops - I cannot believe you know all those Irish songs - we will raise the roof when we get together! @Oops and Babs in perfect harmony!
Sending lots of love, prayers, and positive energy to your beautiful Anna, @Milking Keynes. ♥ 🙏🏼 💫

I wish it to be known (formally) that since I am known (personally) to Kaiser that I am (frequently) able to offer my services as Keeper of ALL Wildlife in your beautiful paradise garden. I merely need a straw bed in one of your outbuilding and a permit to enjoy.

Thank you so much (bags packed subject to immigration, Covid, quarantine and anything else any politician could possibly imagine or indeed think of to deter me...) 🤷‍♀️

:m:m:mYAY! No migraines I take it? Classics? WHAT could be more head-bendingly easy? GO ANNA!View attachment 628828
Ha! ❤ Good morning, @Oops! I know, I am packed and ready to go too! The setting is paradise, so true, and did I spot a pool for us as well?! Bonnets by the pool...👒👒👒

With regard to Anna - Classics - I would say the favourite subjects of both my daughters, believe it or not! They like their Homer and it’s not Mr. Simpson (random fact - I can do a fantastic imitation of Marge “Homer?? Dinner! It’s Thursday - Meatloaf!”)

Thank you ladies for your lovely messages. I am so happy we have each other to vent and ask for advice.
My heartbroken dad is not doing well. He has literally aged overnight. He says he feels lost. My parents spent all day, every day together. And so to find a new normal, is proving to be especially difficult for him.
We have arranged for him to speak to a grief counsellor, suprisingly, he agreed to doing so. He had previously spoken to a Cancer counsellor while my mum was in hospital ("She made me cry" was his response to our question how did it go 😁)
So that is a step in the right direction.
I, on the other hand, just seem to be blocking my emotions, which I know is wrong, but I feel if I start crying, I may not stop. I'm just taking it day by day.

Sending each and every one of you lovely ladies lots of love xoxoxo 💓

@Geranium It's cool eh guys!? :mThis next one was about half an hour ago. We're just getting into the bit where it changes colour. Hubby just woke Mr(7) for a wee lookie - that didn't go well! 😆 #toosleepy He didn't bother trying with Miss(6)!

@Milking Keynes - oh wow! There's some awesome pics of it on the internet in the U.S. I don't know about you lot, but I always feel that it's pretty cool that the moon and sun that you guys see/experience is the same as what we see and experience. It kind of brings the world together for me. (That was a bit deep). ;)

Amazing - did it actually turn red when it changed colour?

Nooooo darling. I meant Elsie is!! So we are all having to suffer it and endure the arduous journey of ridiculousness! Which reminded me when Thatcher said ‘We are becoming a grandmother!!!’So I was just letting our dear girl know what we are going through elsewhere if you get my drift xxx
Oh, how could you do that to me? 😔😟 Inconsolable now ☹ I was going to come over and help you - oh, dear! I do love a newborn. - I literally inhale them! ❤ Aggh - so disappointed. Can you maybe arrange to be one? I don’t like to be disappointed.. no pressure but I will await your response ..

Trust me to miss all the important messages! Sorry!
First of all @Miscanthus you are having the exploratory procedure because you have a nasty broken wrist not because you have what your friend in the support group had. It’s really important for your well-being that you don’t take your train of thought down that route. I think what you (and our Havisham) have been through is awful and very, very painful. You can’t think straight when you are in pain. I know this might sound a bit left-field but it might be worthwhile watching some acupressure vids on YT. There are some brilliant ones for pain relief brought about by pressing on certain meridians. It may help to ease the pain considerably In between painkiller dosages. Do you have anyone who can plant up for you or is it something you would do yourself normally? Can the plants be delivered and your client plant them to your instruction? I mean that you might be able to lay out the planting with your left hand . Once again it’s such a pain we can’t ring each other...This seems to happen more and more lately have you noticed that? I am worried about our darling @MissMidnight and can’t do a flopping thing about it. ..This is all too daft as I am just a half hours drive away from you! I could drive you to your appointments etc...
Anyway, for now it’s important to be kind to yourself, breathe and picture everything going really well in your mind’s eye. I was told once by an extremely clever and sage person that 95 per cent of the things we worry about never happen. I reckon that’s a seriously high and comforting percentage! Please let us know as everything progresses this week. 🍇🍇💐💐💙💙
Thank you for your words @Oops...
Not being able to fully be there for each other is something that I have thought about too. So frustrating 😔However, I wouldn't wish to pull you into my life at the moment. It is messy, stressy and you would think less of me if you knew what I'm dealing with😔. I can't even fully share the accident...suffice to say it was like a very black comedy.
Yes, I can place plants and direct proceedings. I wanted to go to my wholesaler but I can't. I'm using some of my own plants and struggling to pick them out, tidy them up and crate them. Logistics is a nightmare. This is probably the last garden I will do anyway.
Will check out pressure points.
As for cancer group, we have lost 3 now 😪. My doctor says she's worried my bones are thin (I had no oestrogen for 5 years) but I do /did weights at gym...
Thank you...I appreciate all of you xx 🥰

Attention please:
There is someone on the other thread who is pretending to be Captain! Can you believe that? She is definitely an imposter. I have left word for all to ignore the imposter and to carry on as normal…will keep you posted on progress as appropriate...I am just in the room next door packing the suitcase if required. I will be available throughout the night…There is no need to panic…

V.O: …and now viewers our outside broadcasting unit along with Bitsy Wotsits our intrepid commentator will take you over to the Wedding of the Year at BESTSPINSTER ABBEY. Albinoni’s Adagio for Strings and Organ in G minor plays as the OB camera pans over a large English Country House. We gasp in awe as the camera leads us down a long Elm walk then through to a Cathederal Hedge of Hornbeam and through again to an Elizabethan Knot Garden, where the Wedding Chapel comes into view.

Bitsy Wotsits: …
and now viewers…as we enter the western transept of Bestspinster Abbey Chapel we can see the glorious light streaming through the stained-glass windows on to the gathering of family and friends of Teddy Bear and Gem. The gleaming pews polished and burnished in this glorious sunlight. The profusion of Spring-gathered Lilacs, the burgeoning garlands of palest pink peonies and the imported Hydrangea Annabelle are surely enough to take one‘s breath away. Such floral beauty provided by Messrs Harvey and Bruiser, Florists to the Aristocracy and Others, is to be savoured as a once in a lifetime experience. Ah - yes here we see Miss Geranium Aspinal who has been appointed official crane spotter today. Tell me Mrs Aspinal, do you think it will be easy to spot a crane flying west straight into this afternoon sun?

Geranium Aspinal. I come from a long line of Crane Spotters, my dear, so I will have no problems. Look! There he is. Yoooooo Hoooo! Yoooo Hoo Mr Yu Crane! We’re just here! Here we are! Yes that’s it! (she flags him down by flapping her arms until he has landed right in front of her). She helps him on with his top hat and adjusts his tail coat removing some flecks of dust with her lace hanky and then offers him her arm and with a playful tap on his pointed beak escorts him back inside the Chapel to stand in his rightful place at the alter with Teddy Bear and his Best Dog Kaiser.

Bitsy Wotsits:
Oh goodness me viewers, what a glorious sight! All the bridesmaids have arrived. They are wearing hula - hula grass skirts, and yes, if I’m not mistaken there is Hula Lula the famous hula hula girl! Oh and Mr Django Rhinestone the Dalmatian and his Hawaiian Guitar. Oh how lovely, the bridesmaids are all entering the church doing their beautiful hula hula dance of love. Oh - it brings a tear to my eye viewers! This is just too lovely. Everyone is smiling viewers…just look…

The camera pans over a smiling congregation as the hula, hula bridesmaids perform their beautiful rhythmic dance swaying their hips down the aisle as Django plays his Hawaiian guitar. There is barely a dry eye in the house. Such a vision of love and beauty the likes of which may never be seen again. The camera pans back outside and the steady clop, clop, clop of Klaudio’s hooves can be heard in the distance. Slowly, the beautiful glass coach he is drawing comes into view and as it draws up to the Chapel we can see Gem and Mrs Bonnet Bennet smiling inside the coach. As they alight it looks as if thousands more bright sunbeams fall down upon them from the sky. To the tune of The Bridal March from Lohengrin played on the organ from inside the chapel Mrs Bonnet Bennet walks her Gem down the aisle.

Teddy who has been a bundle of jitters for the past hour or so slowly turns to see his bride walk down the aisle towards him. All is now right with the world. She is here, she is smiling at him and he is truly happy.

cue Mariah Carey…

Here comes the bride
Glowing inside

Its taken simply ages
And many eyes have cried
Finally the day
Has dawned and we must say
That dearest Gem and Teddy
Help share the love today

We gather here
With friends we hold dear
We bless every wish
And this message is clear
Love conquers all
Soothes if you fall
And love can save your life
If you listen to it call

Yu Crane: Peace to you all on this special day. Teddy my boy and dearest girl Gem, what a pleasure it is to see you both glowing with happiness in this wonderful place. I fly to a lot of weddings but I must say I don’t see many venues like this one. I mean the floristry for a start…Oops, there’s me going of on one of my tangents. Now where was I? Oh yes, erm Spot and Matilda it gives me…no sorry… you are not Spot and Matilda are you? Er…just give me a minute… Fabrizio and Mimi. No! Oh yes, Teddy Bear and Gem, how happy you both look and how happy I am to officiate at your wedding today in order to certify you are Friends and Romans…er…no…not Friends and Romans, er…Cakes and Biscuits…no not that…er…You see the thing is I really don’t like storks. I never have and I am not sure if I ever will. My grandfather, was not a lover of storks either…

Miss Midnight gave Oops that certain look and Oops nodded. As Yu Crane gathered momentum with his diatribe against storks Miss Midnight ran unnoticed from the chapel and burst into the Tardis and set the co-ordinates for an hour into the future. The Tardis shook a little and released her almost immediately. She ran back to the Chapel just in time to hear Yu Crane pronounce Teddy Bear and Gem Dog and Spouse. She looked at her watch and wasn’t surprised to see an entire hour had passed unnoticed. Yu Crane imagined everyone had listened to his rather boring sermon and no one else remembered him going on and on and on. It was a secret known only to those who knew. Mrs Bonnet Bennet had given her Gem away and all that remained now was to go back down the aisle and have a really good party.

Mendelssohn’s wedding March plays for a few bars, long enough for the bride and groom to walk back down the aisle together and just as they got to the great doors of the chapel…the organ strikes up with All I want for Christmas is you…Miss Carey looks shocked as Teddy Bear and Gem sing…

We don’t want a lot - just biscuits
And a few fish for a treat
We are happy with a head scratch
Or a kind pat at your feet
We all need a place to go
More than you could ever know
Make our dreams come true
Because
All we want is kindness from you

Dogs and cats and birds and people
Need a place called home and then
All of them know where they’re standing
Even just the smallest den
Brings a smile to every face
Everyone just needs a place
What else can we do?
All we want is safety and you

See our bright fur shining
With hair left everywhere

You know we’d be pining
If you were not there
So with love and sniffing
We say Mum you’re spiffing
Thanks for all you do
Solid through and through
Look into our eyes
And that face belongs to you!

We don’t want a lot just biscuits
And a few fish for a treat
Pedigree or simple misfits
In our bed or on the street
All we need is one small lead
And some food for which to plead
Make our dreams come true
And take us back to your place with you!

Maria jumps in to help here with that top whistle note and brings the final curtain down!

Tell you what…tee hee…she’ll never know…If we just eat all the biscuits between us. We’ll keep 4 or 5 to give her an ample choice. I mean you and I have done NO self care today. The interlude earlier with the pipe lagger deserves a few lemon biscuits I can tell you! Great descision, meet you in the kitchen in 5-4-3-2-1…Oh there you are. FABULOUS bonnet! Doooo sit down, let me pour you some tea. Yes you can have the Wedgewood cup…Now…that wretched pipe lagger said…
You really can’t beat a cuppa, can you? You make a fine, brew. Oh, you too - bonnet is to die... what a great idea - I was parched! Yes, I did bring my largest structured bag - I have to fit a piece of furniture into it later - oh, that throne is bigger than I thought.. 🥵🥵
