My sister and I still shout 'OUT OF MY WAY' like Dr Neo Cortex in Crash Team Racing if one of us is in the way of the other one. I've completed it 100% but apparently it's possible to complete it to 102%. I do not have the patience.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 was my favourite game at the time. I completed it with every character and my custom character then when that unlocked Officer Dick, completed it with him too. I only recently found out that the PS2 version was completely different from the PS1 version I have.

I've finally got round to playing RDR2 after somehow avoiding spoilers for three years. I tried playing it on my old PC but didn't enjoy it because the hardware wasn't powerful enough to run it properly. Now I've got a new machine and whacked all the graphics settings up to ultra and it's stunning. Does anyone else panic when they have to name things in games? When I bought my first horse I had a complete brain malfunction and now my horse is called Weasel 😑
Can't look at any horse, real or virtual, without thinking of Jack Monroe's infamous lasagne sauce, so one of my horses is called Lasagne 😂

"It'll thicken up" 😭😬🤢

I'm working my way through Assassin's creed origins, love the setting but wish they'd picked an earlier time period than the Ptolemaic dynasty, can't help feeling like they've done it so I can meet Cleopatra and Caesar at some point, but I wanted proper pharoahs, not a bunch of Greeks and Romans!

Knowing assassin's creed I'll probably end up carrying the carpet Cleopatra hiding in to help her meet Caesar, manage to accidentally bump into every well known person on the street from this time period & then accidentally burn down the library of Alexandria. It's amazing how good these assassins are at networking, I imagine a modern day AC game would have us helping Beyoncé storm a Templar stronghold.

Buzzing that there's a gaming thread! I'm a bit of a video game fiend, especially during lockdown, I think gaming has kept many minds sane over the last 15 months.

My first console was a game boy colour then a ps2 and I grew up on the family friendly holy trinity of Spyro, Pokémon and... Grand theft auto...I have no idea how that got past my parents I assume it was one of the games that came with the console when they bought it 🤷‍♀️

I genuinely miss the era of the Nintendo Wii, I don't feel like we've had a console since that brings families together like that did, who doesn't fondly remember crushing their family at mario kart? Or their grandma launching a Wii remote into the ceiling at 50 mph trying to bowl a strike? I wish that style of game would make a mainstream comeback.
I agree about the Wii games. So many games seem quite violent and sweary now, too. My husband plays Far Cry and it’s full of f this and that, when kids are about or who play it too! (Don’t mean to sound like an old prude.)

Anyone playing Ghost of Tsushima? Really enjoying it. Even if I do suck at being a samurai.
It’s one of the best games I’ve played

I've started God of War. Not sure I like it. But too much enemy combat to the point it feels like it's interrupting the story. I don't like the map and it all feels a bit complicated navigating the menus. Should I stick with it? Does it grow on you?
Yes, took me a little while to get into it but I loved it!

Since I last visited this thread, I’ve bought a switch and a ps5! 🤣

I tried to play Zelda breathe of the wild but it felt a bit too much - swords break on you and you need to remember recipes to cook foods 😬 I struggle with what's supposed to be the best games thesedays and miss the Gameboy days! I miss games being a bit more simple and that you could dive in for just a short time.
I struggled with that aspect of breath of the wild but there are little korok creatures and you need to collect their seeds (I think it’s probably actually their poo 🙊) and I got really into that, just running and riding across the world trying to find them and do their puzzles. Barely did any of the actual story, just chased them for hours 😂

Currently replaying last of us 1. It's got to be one of the best games ever. Maybe a second replay of the last of us 2 next, then RDR2 for the first time. Can't wait for the new horizon zero dawn forbidden west.

Unsubscribed from PS Now. This month's games were highly disappointing for me. I like Final Fantasy but it's a bit cheeky to include one of the series each month when they're all already available on xbox game pass their competitors🙄

Judgment is amazing. I've gotten to chapter 8 and I'm loving it. The side quests are quite easy and I'm really looking forward to the second one that's out soon.

Looking forward to seeing what Paralives becomes.

Stray is a game im super excited to play too. Cute little backpack kitty.

Considering it’s been TEN YEARS since gta 5 came out the least they can do is allow us to transfer all our online cash to gta 6. If they did that I would sell everything I have in online 😂

What I would say is it's a very slow paced game and the mood is quite bleak (I can't believe it's from the same studio as GTA5 tbh) there will be fun hijinks and heists and such but they're like a vodka shot on the side rather than the main drink.

There's a lot of conversation, side activities, tragedy and reflecting to yourself on the shit that just happened in the previous mission while you're travelling across the map to somewhere else. The character writing is pretty good and I've gotten attached to the main character and most of the rest of the gang, but it's also very good at making you hate certain people (or like them as a person while still knowing they're absolutely no good for the main character and not trusting them at all).

Oh and there is a lot of hunting/animals dying in the game so be aware of that if it would be too upsetting - hunting is a side activity and I think a few main missions involve it. The horses are great though, I don't even like horses that much in real life but I would die for my horse in RDR2 (he's a black Arabian horse I think), sometimes I just pat/brush and feed them for like a few minutes at a time 😂

I'm still gutted you can pet the dogs but you can't keep one as a pet

I'm so excited for mass effect legendary edition next week 😁

Bf is a pc gamer and I'm very jealous. Can't afford to build my own and don't wanna save. He does let me play sims 4 on there if I want to and because I'm a loser I have all the expansion packs 🤪 still not as good as The Sims 2.
Decent gaming PCs are so expensive! We just bought one on finance from Gladiator PCs and it's good but not top of the range. We then spent more money kitting it out with RGB fans and accessories and buying a good monitor and keyboard/mouse etc. BF wanted to do his own build and that was our original plan, to just buy bits and pieces over a couple of months when we could afford to, but graphics cards are SO hard to come by just now that he decided it was best to just buy a prebuilt one. Gladiator was good as you can pick a base package and then modify it with different parts.

We've just cancelled our PS subscription (think we might sell our PS4) and are using Xbox Game Pass for the PC.

I have found my people! Recently played Hogwarts Legacy which, although it felt a bit lacking at times, the studio developing it did an amazing job with considering they did the Disney kid games prior to that. Before that I played GoW Ragnarök and cried like a bitch a good few times.

Looking forward to GTA6 but gutted that R* dropped the RDR1 remaster/remake because the GTA definitive editions sucked so hard.

Hahaha the KKK thing is amazing! You're right there is so much to see and interact with on RDR2.

I was doing the opening mission the other night & was so blown away with how realistic the horse footprints looked in the snow!

I really root for some of characters in the game too, I get soooo invested. Hosea is one of my favourites :giggle:

The fishing is fun too, hurts your bloody thumbs after a while though!

I don't think I'll ever tire of playing it tbh!!
Hosea ❤❤❤ I loved all the gang apart from Micah. But my favs have to be Hosea, Lenny, Sean, Karen, Tilly, Charles and I even grew to love Uncle after a while.

Special mention for Rains Fall as well, god that part of the story broke my heart, Rains Fall was such a pure soul. The acting/motion capture in this game is incredible, I got attached to way to many characters.

I hated the fishing until I went into the settings and changed it so I just have to hold down square instead of using the stick. Total game changer.

I adore this game, I always end up coming back to it. My beloved fallout 4 and Witcher 3 haven’t had a look in since I got it last year. Such a tragic, amazing, deep and emotional story.

Always loved video games- started out on a weird maths game on a cassette on the Commodore 64, then The Secret of Monkey Island on the Amiga, Sims for many years. Loved the Fable games especially Fable 2 and then Skyrim which I’ve just recently replayed through. Various Nintendo games have been in between but not as intensely as the others (except Animal Crossing).

nowadays I’m mainly playing Stardew Valley and embarrassingly Fortnite as i like doing all the challenges and moving up the battle pass! I don’t get much time on the Xbox anymore so the Switch is useful but I struggle to find games I really can get immersed in on it.

I’d forgotten that me and my friend used to play the Horse game on Tony Hawk where you catch all the letters and change the word to find to random boys we were talking to on msn chat!

I've just finished playing la noire remastered on the ps4 (I know I'm a bit late to the party haha) I'd played the original when it first came out on the xbox 360 so I knew the general plot and what happens (although I had forgot some small details so it was nice to replay it). My housemate watched me play most of it and she really got into the story even though she's not a big video game fan. I guess it is like a true crime / detective show almost with all the cutscenes and interrogations. It was nice to play all the cases that were dlc for the 360 version too as I never purchased them when I first had the original game

I had a Nintendo DS back in the day, now I have a switch lite. I was wondering whether anyone had any game suggestions for me? I currently only play Animal Crossing, so anything cutesy or calming recs would be appreciated
If you like animal crossing, stardew valley is similar!

Maybe a Pokémon game? I've heard the diamond and pearl ones are very buggy so wouldn't recommend, but there's let's go Pikachu / Eevee or Pokémon Sword/Shield (they get released in pairs the only difference between the 2 versions is some Pokémon can only be caught in one version)

Was payday this week so I've treated myself to mario kart on switch as that was always good for a laugh with family back when they had a Wii so might come in handy over Xmas to defuse any tensions!
