When it comes to xbox I usually jump in and buy a month. Play a few games and then cancel and come back a few months later and repeat the process. A shame to see them going this route of squeezing money out of people.
I find it disgraceful that they are even monetizing the performance now, the lower the tier you get the lower the performance specs you get, you need ultimate to get the highest graphic quality

I used to really like Xbox, it was my first console an I had game pass for years, but they have made all of this so hard to support an stand up for now, I just can't justify what they are doing, an even if they backtrack now an come down in price, who's to say in a years time they won't go right back up

They are even talking about a small version that's free but they are only offering 5 hours per month of game allowance plus it will have ads, I just can't support them now

Anyone else playing Ghost of Yotei? It's STUNNING. We've been locked in all weekend, don't want to go to work tomorrow 😂

Anyone else seen Ananta? It looks amazing, 2026 release I think, will be interesting to see how it competes with GTA6, I'd imagine GTA will still dominate but I think Ananta might just give it some competition especially with being a free to play

Is anyone else playing wuthering waves? Decided to give it a go since it was a free to play, didn't expect how quickly it would get me hooked though 😅 I even caved in an bought some stuff to pull for qiuyan 🫣

1/Has any played any good games over xmas/what were they?
2/ Anyone looking foreward to any releases in 2026?

I haven't had a chance till yesterday but am now playing BF 6 which is underwhelming /bleh.
I want to play Mafia 3 but it's got denuvo so hopefully some time this year.
Whoever said on here that the last of us part 2 was good was spot on in their analysis. It was gripping and intense. So thanks.
Except when you had to play a bent acoustic version of that AHA song and couldn't skip it. That was going too far.

Is gta 6 coming out this year? CBA checking.
I lost interest after GTA 4. Gameplay and game design feel like something out of 2010 IMO.
I'd like to see another RDR game though.

I would love another Red Dead game but Rockstar is so invested in gta6. Don’t play GTA5 online anymore as I got so bored and same with rdr2. Nothing will match that game for me!!

Yeah I've played RDR 2 to death.
I think it's the most accomplished world design I've ever seen in a game TBH.
I read somewhere (but I can't give sources so it's speculation) that one of the producers said they wanted to make another and it *could* happen. No ETA though.

Like you said though the billions are in GTA online so why change stuff up.

Been playing wuthering waves mainly, they just released their 3.0 update which has been fun an looking forward to the 3.1 since it has characters I want to pull for

Personally I've lost so much interest in GTA now, the wait for 6 has been imo far too long an all the hype to build it up only for yet another delay notice has took what little I cared for it away, I've been seeing Ananta advertise a lot an its out this year so I think I might end up skipping GTA in favour for Ananta especially since it's free to play an looks very similar to it with the fighting, cars, changing characters (that do their own thing when left alone) an such

Fire emblem should also be out this year so looking forward to that since it's been a few years now since the last one

I’ve been playing a mix of Coral Island and Spider-Man: Miles Morales the last few weeks. I picked up Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart yesterday in the Steam sale and have been really enjoying it.

I'd like more games with decent single player campaigns and good professional and engaging writing/story telling.
I realise I'm in the minority with not liking MP though.
I think that the focus on MP is killing creativity and innovation for well crafted SP games though.
It vexes me when the SP campaign is just an adjunct for learning the MP.

I'd like a passable/credible COD installment this year too rather than just another cash grab. The last one was piss poor and the one before barely adequate.IMO.

I could go for a new decent Resident Evil installment too.
"Resident evil:the village" gave me the fear.

I'm not a fan of most multiplayer games. I still have the odd dip back into the older call of duty titles. Ever since the Battle Royale genre took off with Fortnite and it has been shoved into everything multiplayer gaming has become awful for me.

I agree that the focus on MP is hurting the industry. Everything is just pushing in game purchases and season passes and loot boxes in general.

I haven't played MP in years, used to enjoy it but god it just seemed to get more an more toxic an it didn't matter what you played, you'd find mats in everything, so starting sticking by SP an now I'd find it hard going back even if I did get a good MP game, sometimes it's nice just to switch off an ignore everything

I've tried persevering with it.
I applaud the fact that it's single player based long campaign and does stuff a bit differently but it's not for me tbh.
You see the term "Janky" used in random reviews and I can see that too.
Last of us 2 remastered is available on PC now so I'll give that a go.
I'm tempted to try the following but I'm wary of the devs/post apocalypse theme tbh.

Has anyone had a go on Fallout London? (Another post apocalypse effort.)

Did you play Atomfall? I am considering it for my next game, it's currently in the sale too.

I 100% RDR2 I loved it that much! It took me ages lol.
Red dead redemption is my favourite game of all time though (the original one) such an incredible story and the twist at the end just left me in awe. And to see it all sort of relate in RDR2 as well is amazing .

I am excited for GTA 6 as I do love rockstar games. Their storytelling and world building is incredible. I am going to have to buy a ps5 for it though haha.

As someone else said, I wish there were more great single player games. I used to love playing cod online back in the day but I haven't played since modern warfare (2019) now . I do play overwatch now and then but love getting immersed in single player games

I've recently started playing assassin's creed 3 remastered which I got in the playstation store sale. I never played it originally (only played the first 2 games on the Xbox 360 and have now completed the ezio collection on PS4). I'm enjoying it so far but the gameplay mechanics aren't great. The amount of times I've got frustrated because my character has randomly jumped out of a hiding spot or up a ladder so I've been seen when trying to be sneaky 🙄. I love the whole Templar, history / conspiracy element to it though. I spend ages reading all the database entries

I wanted to play Atomfall but never got round to it. It looks intriguing.
I wanted to play "Fallout: London" but something put me off/made me wary. It looks interesting TBF. I may have been suffering from "Fallout overload".

I said I wanted to play Mafia 3 earlier but I actually meant "Mafia: the old country". I like games where you can explore different periods of history and have a wander round.

I'll play GTA 6. They always have a rock solid lengthy single player campaign in all fairness. Rockstar puts the SP effort in. For this I'm grateful.
I partly got the hump with GTA 5 cos they simplified the vehicle physics and driving felt way off/"floaty" to me compared with prior games. You could suddenly "turn on a dime".

I'd appreciate it if people posted their take on games they've played/recommendations. It saves me having to use a seperate gaming forum. I'm trying to broaden my scope from mainly FPS.

I enjoyed final fantasy 16, I know a lot of people didn't like it due to mostly long story scenes but as it was my very first one I didn't have any of the others to compare it on so really enjoyed it, currently have FF10 which am going have a try at

Have also had a bit of a go at where winds meet, not far into it but so far it's been ok

I'm currently playing Baldur's Gate 3, which is not my usual type of game at all. It took me a while to get into it, and to be honest if it wasn't for the fact that my friend kept telling me how much they loved it, I probably wouldn't have bothered. I am enjoying it though, which surprised me. I've never played D&D and don't know anything about it.

It is a long game though, I feel like I've been playing it for months.
