Is anyone else secretly enjoying that the gaming industry is burning to the ground right now, as someone who much prefers physical media over digital (that can be taken away at any point) I feel like all these leaks an such is kind of deserved with them since they are quite happy to push for digital only

My new PS5 arrived today. I'd been considering getting one for a while, but had resisted the urge. However, as I had a bonus at work recently and it coincided with a temporary price reduction (£409 on Amazon) I went for it.

So far I love it! I got Jedi Survivor (I'm a big Star Wars fan ), Last of Us Part 2 and Hogwarts Legacy. I'd already played Hogwarts Legacy on the Switch but I really enjoyed it and would have had a second playthrough anyway, so buying it for the PS5 with the far superior graphics was a no brainer.

I'm loving it so far and I'm really glad with my purchase. I was a bit worried I'd get some buyer's remorse, but it's the opposite.

I miss renting games when I was a kid. Going to the likes of blockbuster and my local game/film shop to rent. Did anyone else know a video game person who went door to door to rent you games?

There was a woman who would come with a case full of games. I would pick, I think 3 games, from the selection and rent them for a week. I could pay a few quid to extend the rent period on them.

I rage quit it last year as I couldn’t get to one of the statues I was easily able to get to 20 or so years ago

I found the spryo trilogy not too bad - although the first game was a bit tricky - but I ended up rage quitting the crash bandicoot remake after a seemingly impossible level and had the same thought about it being a kids game

I see sony are letting people lease a PS5 for €32.99 a month with GTA 6.

I'd be tempted to lease for a couple of months, but it's 12 month contract.

I really want to boycott the whole industry with this push to digital only.

So not only will you not own the game, but you won’t own your console either? Madness.

I could understand leasing for a couple of months, but not longer term. Or am I missing something?

Surely it’s better to either buy a PS5 and resell it, or buy one second hand? Or get one on 0% finance and split the payments. €33 a month isn’t far off what you’d pay for one outright after 12 months.

I don’t game as much as I used to so I’m a bit out of the loop, but it’s bonkers that they’ve chosen not to release a disc of GTA 6 at launch. They know people will buy it twice because of fomo. They deserve the backlash, it’s pure greed.

I've been playing through the most recent tomb raiders recently and have nearly finished, does anyone have any recommendations for similar games? I absolutely love Zelda but have played BOTW/TOTK to death, but looking for something in a similar vein!! I was thinking of one of the horizon games but open to other suggestions! Thank you

The Horizon games are brilliant if you haven’t played already. Need to start with Zero Dawn to follow the story.
