I'm currently playing Baldur's Gate 3, which is not my usual type of game at all. It took me a while to get into it, and to be honest if it wasn't for the fact that my friend kept telling me how much they loved it, I probably wouldn't have bothered. I am enjoying it though, which surprised me. I've never played D&D and don't know anything about it.

It is a long game though, I feel like I've been playing it for months.
my partners favourite game is Baldurs and I really enjoyed it. Not my usual type of game and know nothing about D&D either but have put quite a few hours into it now

I've been playing Dispatch.
Superheroes, quick time events, strategy and a great plot? Loving it.

Can anyone recommend any decent video game review/news sites? Or ones you use?

For years I've been using:-

and

The first two I don't really trust review wise and there's always rumblings of "inducements" review score wise. I dunno about that but I do agree with a poster on there who said "9 is the new 7" score wise.

Kotaku seems a bit better with articles worth a read IMO.

I've not changed sites out of idleness and force of habit so if anyone has any other site recommendations I'll give them a try.

Not review site but we love Gameranx on YouTube for game content. They do great list videos but also do a “before you buy” series which we always watch when we are considering getting new games.

Has anyone else played Cairn? I played it last week and was obsessed with it for a good few days. Gorgeous art style and the climbing mechanics were really clever. I found it so engaging.

I usually just watch independent YouTubers for anything game related now, there's two that will also play just about any game so if I want to see a game play I'll watch then as well which are hypnotic an vera dark, they are quite vocal as well though so I know they might not be to everyone's taste, but they are also quick at calling out rubbish that most sites will praise

yeah, that cairn looks interesting/something a bit different. I reckon I'll give it a go.
I've just reinstalled GTA V for the fourth time.
4 x trying not to lose interest and be unable to continue with it out of a kind of entropy, generalised meh bleh.
Partly it's the simplified driving physics which was a concious design choice on their part this installment but I just can't get into it for some reason. It's weird cos I finished the others and enjoyed GTA 4 on the whole.
I find the setting really bland too compared with the others.
Underwhelming radio stations also IMO.
Liberty city in GTA 3 is still my favourite geography/design wise. I liked the way it rained all the time and the grittiness.
I must just be allergic to GTA V.
I've only typed this lot to avoid continuing with it TBH.

I decided to give that arknights a chance, usually am always late to these games an there's like 1000 things to do which just feels overwhelming, but am starting to wonder if I should continue it, the story is ok an I feel like I've put so much time into it already an invested in my characters that I don't want to just ditch it, but so many parts of the game I really could do without like the factory part which you sorta of need, haven't spent any money in it an have managed to some 6* characters with their sig weapon but am so 50/50 right now with keeping the game

Thing is I say I'll try various games with noble intentions but it's having the time/poor time management on my part. So I never get round to trying much different stuff and venture out of the comfort zone.

I lied to avoid social obligations this weekend and planned to get some decent gaming in and I've done nowt but vaciltate over which game to play. And do some moaning.

"The paralysis of analysis" as someone once said.

I'm doing some today even if it's a crap game and I don't want to/CBA.
It's simply a matter of concerted focus I reckon.

I've just been looking at stuff about Crimson Desert, and it looks really good!
Out in March.

I've been playing Witcher 3 (again) lately but am looking forward to the above.

Anyone playing the new Resident Evil?

Hopefully give it a go by the end of next week.
I never know what's coming out so it came as a pleasant surprise seeing the reviews.
They're solid, well put together games IMO.
The only ones I wasn't overly keen/struggled with were RE6 and the one set in the American deep south/swamps (forget the number). I think the claustrophobic setting got to me TBH.
I rated RE:The village though. Thought it was atmospheric. The bit with the baby thing in the house gave me the horrors.

I wasn’t a big fan of 6 but I love Requiem. The atmosphere is fantastic. Capcom have did a great job!
