Creamfields is apparently the worst festival for arrests, based on something I saw the other day.
Starmer is the biggest hypocrite to ever exist. I hope he struggles to find a job on the international stage
This year there was 26 arrests, and 34 dispersal orders issued on the Saturday, with approximately 80000 people attending. So significantly higher than the per capita rate of Notting Hill
I go to Carnival in the city where I live and for quite a few years now, it is enclosed with a metal fence, they do bag searches on entry and swipe you with a metal detector. The event is always really friendly and has people of all ages there. Loads of people were rightfully angered by the security checks being introduced, as they are not done at other public events in the city. You can go to Pride in the city centre, with a bag of drugs and alcohol and no checks.
If the UK's current ambassador to Ukraine happens to quit, Starmer will probably be straight in there.
I forgot to add in my previous post that my mam worked at a community centre in the 90s and used to help with sewing outfits for the Carnival queens.

I voted Labour for years but I've always felt that there was something disingenuous about both him and this process.
Who ever was behind this campaign (was it Mandleson) didn't realise that although KS is an intelligent guy, he's got zero personality and when the going gets tough, you need a Prime Minister who can communicate with the public.
And ill never get over him letting another guy buy him clothes and glasses!!! He's a bleeping millionaire!!! Why does he need someone to buy him clothes???

I saw a headline about them switching off Freeview television and I’m a bit confused - what does it mean exactly? Will we not have Channels 1-5 anymore or normal TV?
Will need to double check but IIRC it's not being switched off any time soon, though as regards marketing 'freely' is being cast as the online smart-tv successor for it.

Starmer is so old news, does anyone have any appetite to know what he is up to? If anyone has the blind optimism to give him a job on the world stage, they must be oblivious to the chaos he has overseen as PM.
Burnham in the HoC is doing a good job, he wants to improve everything and work with everyone. As a start this is a very good performance, he doesn't have to read constantly from notes and seems to be across all briefs. He is a breath of fresh air, mind you it would not be difficult to usurp Starmer, but he is a great improvement, is impressive, not combative and seems genuinely friendly and sincere.
His actions in the coming 2 years or so will be all defining, a good start and wish him well.
