Could be worse, you could have Corbyn as your idol. :ROFLMAO:
I know right?
Imagine supporting someone who wanted to raise the minimum wage, build more council houses, renationalise key industries, freeze the pension age and tax the super rich? What an absolute bastard šŸ™„

Come on, he's a devout Marxist ... they don't love the poor they just hate the rich. I can't get on board with that.

Misquoting Jordan Peterson (he said 'socialists' not 'marxists') misquoting Orwell.

Iā€™ve never known anyone rattle people like Corbyn does. Heā€™s not even relevant anymore and still people are obsessed šŸ˜‚

He will be relevant if the rumours of him running for Mayor of London are true. At least to Londoners.

Love can manifest in many forms just get adjoining Allotments and talk about the good old dayā€™s soon this will be the distant future.

Anyone seen the Beth Rigby interview.

I cannot see this going on indefinitely šŸ˜

Whether people like him or loathe him they have to admit the smear campaign against him was pretty unbelievable:

It was systematic and dreadful. Apparently a book is coming out soon which will give more information on it all.

Edited to add that the Telegraph is possibly the worst paper published in the UK. Second only to the Express maybe.

Who did she interview?

Seeing as 67% of London voted Labour when he ran for prime minister sounds like he'd be perfect!
He'd likely split the Labour vote in London though due to his weak (non existent) stance on anti-semetism within the party when he was leader.

Oh I agree. I really liked him, probably the only politician Iā€™ve ever really liked and this country (in my opinion) didnā€™t make the right decision. We will never elect someone like him, sadly. The best we can hope for is a much diluted version of right wing policies ala New Labour.

Has anyone seen the quotes from Truss saying she doesnā€™t have to follow the 2019 manifesto pledges/policies?

Thereā€™s absolutely no mandate for that. There really does need to be an election.

It's crazy isn't it. I understand that we have a representative democracy but these new policies are such a departure from what the last election was won on. Can we really say we live in a democracy if we have no say?

I think anyone with a Tory MP needs to write to them to make the point that this shouldn't be supported.

Does anyone know where I can watch this?

I honestly don't think any party should be in power for 10+ years. Fresh blood is needed at this point.

This is my thinking. I think all political parties have their downfalls and issues so Iā€™m by no means saying I think labour will do any better BUT I think the country isnā€™t strong and hasnā€™t been strong for a while under conservative leadership so why not switch it up and give another party the chance?

I agree. I'm not a diehard Labour supporter (although I have never voted Tory, I do mix it up) but watching the conferences I think Labour seem ready to govern. The Conservatives at this point can only trash their own record over the last 12 years.

Similarly the last Labour government achieved so many great things before it destroyed it all by getting into bed with George Bush and taking us into an illegal war. As the saying goes power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Regular change is needed.

I agree. I think my issue is that weā€™ve had a Tory government for about 12 years and the country has got nothing but worse so whatā€™s the harm in trying a new government? Surely it CANT get worse
