If you are buying on your own a lot of people would want someone with them. I asked my parents or my aunt to come with me as I wanted a second opinion. I don't think it's strange at all. My brother lived abroad at the time bit if he was at home I would've asked him. It is the biggest purchase of your life!

As a person who is older than Sean and earning a very good salary, I have been unable to get approved for the mortgage that is needed to buy any kind of decent home in my area.
So I do personally think its a great achievement for a single person.

As a single mother who pays a mortgage i can assure you getting loan approved is not that big a deal. I got my mortgage before I had kids and the actual achievement is managing to pay the thing
