My period is due on Monday but trying to stop myself from taking an early test as I know they are not very reliable ... just trying to keep my mind busy with work etc.
yeah I took a test Monday morning (period due tomorrow) and it was negative and it was a bit devastating. I’ve now learned it’s actually easier to just wait for your period. Far less stressful to be honest.

I hope you don’t mind me joining this post.
I have a 7 year old son and have been with my partner for nearly 2 years.
We have probably been trying for a baby for approx a year. Last July we both had fertility tests which came back fine and the doctor even said I wouldn’t be surprised if you was pregnant in 3-6 months but nothing has happened. I think I just struggle as my sister in law is pregnant and my next door neighbour and babies etc seem to be on every tv program.
I was in an abusive relationship when I had my son and don’t remember/blocked out a lot of his early childhood and I feel like that this is some sort of karma for not being a good mum to him. I don’t have all those happy memories from his birth etc and it just makes me feel sad. I also struggled a lot with my own health after he was born and ended up very anaemic and used to bleed heavily it just makes me feel like I don’t deserve to have another child.

conceiving is consuming all of my thoughts this month, more so than usual!! We have timed everything so right this month and even had a positive ovulation test! I’ve got to be pregnant this month. We even bought our first baby item as it was in the sale. I feel like it’s going to hit me hard if AF comes this month
I feel the same! Think lockdown isn’t helping as there isn’t much going on outside of work to keep my mind busy! There were 3 pregnancy announcements on my FB last night which is not helping my emotions!

That is brilliant. I've done everything I can think of ive done OPKS - they're negative HPTs negative too. I work in a hospital so I dipped my urine to see if I have an infection brewing & I don't. If we were allowed to request bloods for ourselves I would've done that but were not unfortunately 🤣 I honestly wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy im just praying for a late BFP! X
Have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

I love stories like that, find them fascinating! Yes you’ve still got plenty of time left till then.

I’ve wanted a baby for ages and my partner is finally on the same page. I just wish I’d come off the pill sooner because I feel my hormones are completely messed up now and each cycle they seem to be getting weirder 🙄.

In school they made out that you have unprotected sex you will get pregnant, not actually that easy for a lot of us.
so true! One mishap and you’re pregnant! Wish it was the case.

Sending you lots of luck!

men have it so easy!! (Like usual 🤣🤣) x

I can’t stop thinking about doing another test. Do I go and buy a clear blue early detection after work or just wait. I actually don’t think I can wait until Thursday. I’ve felt nauseous and tired ALL day today 😩

I usually test early with eBay cheapies. Haven’t bought anymore since our last miscarriage.. in the hopes I won’t test early again because I get obsessed. Period due in 5 days and I have a first response in the cupboard. Taking every ounce of me to not pee on it (if it was a two pack I’d have already done it by now 🤣)
I have a two pack of cheapies and one of those clear blue weeks ones... so tempting isn’t it 😂😂

OPK related question... AF is due on Tuesday and on my daily test today I’ve got a high reading. Is that normal?

Bit off topic but did any of you have to bring up to your partners that you wanted to start TTC or were you all on the same page as them? My fiancé and I talk about kids a lot but when it comes to actually having the discussion of when we'd actually want to start TTC, he either makes a joke or brushes over it and nothing comes of it which frustrates me (it's maybe just a man thing idk) 😄🤦🏼‍♀️ I don't want to seem pushy on the topic as I'm the one who has to keep raising the topic but I don't know how much longer I can keep holding off. Like most women we worry about how long it will take and having had issues with losing my period in the past due to illness it does concern me if there was any lasting effects because of that but you never know these things until you're TTC.

I think a lot of men think getting pregnant is as easy as they teach you at school, all you to do is have unprotected sex and you'll definitely get pregnant when it's not as simple and straightforward as that. So they don't see the need for forward planning with cycles, coming off BC, tracking ovulation etc.

I'm rambling but hoping someone gets me 🙈😂
I bought it up with my husband. We got married in August and he was insistent that it was 12 months or marriage until we started trying. I then talked him round to 6 months but then I told that I'd decides to come off my pill at the end of my strip in december so it was up to him to be sensible 🤷🏼‍♀️ fast forward approximately 5 minutes and he then decided to agree trying and acknowledged it doesn't happen overnight 🤣

My brother in law also said that you're never fully prepared for a child anyway so whether it's now or later he will still have a shock 🤷🏼‍♀️

My partner will be there when I test, he’s as excited as I am!

With our families, I’d like to have the scan photo printed onto a little card and give it to them. I think it’ll be complete surprise as they don’t know we’re trying!

I wouldn’t do a test without my husband. I’d want him right there with me and find out together. Very excited to tell sister and parents though. Due on Christmas Day so don’t know whether to test if period doesn’t come in the morning. Don’t want to be disappointed if it’s negative though and ruin the day so might not.
Exactly how I feel with being due on Christmas Eve. It’s a hard one - if I am I’d like to know but if not, I’ll be really disappointed!

Nothing that happened to you was your fault and it certainly doesn't make you a bad mum. The fact that you're worried as much as you are and were able to carry on through an abusive relationship and poor health is testament to you being strong and being a good mum. Please don't blame yourself, your little boy is lucky to have you. TTC is hard but since your tests were all fine it should happen for you eventually, it's just tough waiting!

I gave in and tested early today as been feeling really off the last few days (12dpo, period 3 days away) and got this... honestly can’t believe it! ❤ Wishing everyone else luck and positive tests, this was our 3rd month of trying and although i know that’s not long to try I felt so disappointed the last 2 months!
Aw congratulations!! Amazing news 🎉

Congratulations ❤

Well I've been to the toilet and I have started spotting. I won't lie I had a little cry, but I'm glad I'm on so I can try again next month. I hate that our bodies play games like this with us 😔
Came on to see if you’d updated, hope you’re ok ☹ It’s horrible isn’t it, I felt the same last month I had weird symptoms I’ve never had before and was convinced it was going to be good news then I came on like clockwork. It’s so disappointing!

Like you say though, next month is another go. Stay positive as hard as it is, got my fingers crossed for you

Laying in bed this morning with pregnancy insomnia I remembered that the month I conceived I’d started taking a new supplement. I was already taking a prenatal, folic acid, 600mg of coq10 and DHA, I’d read the Luissa Zia’s man blog post maybe baby and she recommended the DHA and q10 because it improves egg quality (I’m older at 43 so was open to anything) anyhow the month I did finally conceive I also added in a supplement called calc flor which is said to aid implantation. You take it just in your TWW. Anyhow I just thought I’d mention it and good luck to everyone still on their journey xx
Thanks for your advice! Congrats to you x x

I’m due on tomorrow and took an early test yesterday (couldn’t resist!) but was negative. Also have zero symptoms but also have no pms either! Don’t think it’s my month but we’ll see. Good luck to everyone else waiting, especially if you are finding out over Christmas!!
