Is this really a thing? I'm wanting to come home so I was thinking of having the Janssen vaccine this week, get it over and done with. If they ask me if I'm pregnant, I'll have to lie, there's no way they will give it to someone who answers "I don't know".
But at 42, I can't afford to wait 8 weeks between shots, I can't afford to have dodgy periods or a messed up cycle. I'm seriously running out of time.
I don't really want the vaccine, but my lungs are quite weak (nothing medical, I'm just a bit pathetic about fighting off a cold) so I really should have a vaccine because I'll be even weaker pregnant 😩😩😩😩
Honestly I’m not a medical professional or anything so I can’t tell you anything scientific sorry; most of my friends had heavier/more painful period after each vaccine, one friend had their period early after the first dose but was regular after the second and then I hadn’t had a period in 6 months but spotted between the vaccines and came on a proper period a few days after the second dose.

Did anybody else find that their period was slightly different after the vaccine?

I posted on here last week thinking I could be pregnant. I am pregnant but I don’t think it’s going to stick I’m having the worst stomach pains 😔. I’ve had a miscarriage before and the pains are exactly the same. I thought about calling Epu but I had such a terrible experience the last time I was there. I haven’t told anyone not even my oh because he’s been working away.
I understand the apprehension about calling the experience you’ve had a bad experience but remember we are all here to support you💗 maybe you could call your GP rather than the EPU in the morning, that way you’re still being checked out just incase. I hope everything works out for you❤

Hello everyone!

Any advice for best test for ovulation? I'm currently using the Flo app which obviously can't test and isn't accurate but I like to track everything
I use the Premom app with the easy@home strips, it’s fairly spot on for when my periods due but the last month I’ve used the clearblue & it matched up perfectly with the easy@home.

I’m not sure about the sticky discharge, I’d def keep an eye and go see your GP if you’re concerned.

Dear Tattlers,

This isn't my usual thread, but I have nowhere else to go. I've just had a really REALLY faint blue line. I do feel "different" and tired, but every month I "scan" my body for "different" but I'm never pregnant. We tried for 4 years for our first, it's now been at least 3 and I've had polys hoovered out of me twice in the last 2 years, I'm now 42. I honestly feel like this is PMT/another polyp. I've done 2 tests, day 29 and 30. I'm won't count myself officially late until gone day 38 - the day I tested last time and it was a BFP. Obviously all I have to do is wait a few more days and 🙏, but has anyone else had a faint line and turned out to be pregnant?
I would get your hands on a FRER as these are the most sensitive I think!! Good luck ❤

Hi - normally during my suspected ovulation window I get the usual mild cramping, a bit of back ache etc, but nothing too intense. This time I feel so nauseous, literally sick to my stomach. Has anyone ever experienced a dramatic shift in their ovulation symptoms before?
My ovulation symptoms are different most cycles! Sometimes nausea, sometimes a dull cramping like period pains, sometimes a really sharp, intense pain, sometimes headaches.

Thanks again all ♥

This morning I’ve started bleeding. I am so very sad but I was prepared that this would happen.

I had a breakdown yesterday on a meeting as I was already muted and sobbing, then a close colleague announced her pregnancy and started talking about baby clothes she was buying. I had to dial off. I’ve taken today off work and will probably take tomorrow too.

The worst bit was waking up this morning and having that brief moment where I felt okay, and then remembering what was happening. It’s like having the realisation all over again. Also just having to get rid of the pregnancy apps on my phone, the pictures we took of us happy with the positive test - seeing how happy we were is just so sad.

I feel like I have taken that happiness from my husband. He cried with happiness when the test was positive and now he’s never going to have that moment again because he knows it won’t always end how you hope. I can’t help but feel guilt for that. I know that it’s not my fault, but it’s so hard.
I’m so so sorry. Sending you so much love, and a big hug. Feel everything you feel, it’s all valid. Anger, disappointment, upset. We’re all here for you.

I’ve been taking Clear Blue Ovulation tests for 5 months. I’d get highs and then the peak. But then a week or so after my peak I get sharp pains in my lower abdomen that I’m wondering is that actually me ovulating? If the Clear Blue detect a peak LH surge, does that necessarily mean I ovulate within 24-48 hours? Wondering whether I ovulate much later. It’s all so hard to understand 😞 I guess I thought CB detect ovulation but it might not be as simple as that?
does your cervical mucas change to egg white consistency too?

It does only detect a surge and ovulation is only ever confirmed by BBT. So, your body could hear up to O but might not. How long is your cycle and what day does CB say you would O and what day do you think you would?

Hi guys!

Currently on month 4 of TTC number 2.

It took us a while to get pregnant the first time. Not sure how long exactly as we weren't really tracking anything, because we were still in that place where we thought getting pregnant was as easy as 123. At the end of 2014 we thought we'd managed it, but unfortunately it was a molar pregnancy. I wasn't allowed to try again until my hcg levels returned to, and stayed normal. I was discharged from the monitoring from that, and got pregnant with our son the second month of trying, which was a major shock because of how long it took the first time.

Now we're working on number 2. It's not been long, but I'm already a bit frustrated. We would have started last year, but between covid and job uncertainty, it just wasn't the right time. Now I feel like the age gap is going to be huge if we're not successful soon.

Anyway, I'm 11dpo and nothing on the tests yet, but also no AF symptoms, so it could still go either way 🤞🤞🤞

I don’t know what is happening this month. I’m having a weird, very light AF with no cramps. It was essentially just light spotting and now has only got a little heavier but still no where near what I would normally have and only brown not red blood (sorry if TMI). I’m not complaining but it’s so out of the ordinary for me as I normally get a lot of pain. I have had the big temp drop so pretty certain it is AF but it’s just weird. Maybe it’s because I had the vaccine this month or something.

It’s so weird how normally I’d be so happy to have a lighter period but when you’re TTC it’s like every little thing could be a sign of something being wrong so you just overthink so much 🥺

A new holder will always be blank the first time you use it, you should continue to use the old holder (new sticks will work in it normally).

Tomorrow if you use the new holder again you will probs get a flashing face or static.
I used the old holder then with a test stick from the new box and got an error message. One was bought in UK & one was bought in ROI. would this matter?

Raging they cost too much money to waste 😭

Edited to add I did another in what I thought was the old holder and it’s coming up low fertility so I reckon I’ve mixed them up. Il try again tomorrow 🙈

Hi all,

12dpo. I have no doubt AF will arrive in a couple of days. Its hard to see any other way 18 times later. However, I know people try far longer, but I'm the same as ever. And never had any hint of anything as I've said, which worries me.

Another friend pregnant. 1st one I know of has said she doesn't even want to be pregnant. I'm finding that so hard.
Other friend trying 6 months. I appreciate its hard but she tells me like I have no idea what's its like... Im a lot further ahead than that so I find it bizarre.

Anyway so now I'm a bit anxious for period, even though I know it'll come.

Hi guys, how reliable are First Response pregnancy tests? I took a CB digital yesterday (10dpo) and it was negative and did a FR today (11dpo) and I have a faint line! But it’s my first time using FR so is it an indent line? Are indent lines pink in colour too?
I think the CB digital need more HCG so won’t show a positive as early as a FR (if it is the FR early response 6day early test). If the line on FR is pink I would think it’s probs a positive rather than indent but if you’re not sure maybe test again in the morning. It’s still early so it’s likely to be faint.
Got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all okay. I keep disappearing because I am struggling and at the moment I guess I'm dealing with that by sticking my head in the sand and trying to ignore it all. It's the way I'm kind of coping. I guess I'm Kind of running away from it all a bit. If I stop I feel like my heart will give in, and in all honesty the thought of feeling how I do when AF comes all the time, just horrifys me, I can't deal with it.
I'm 8dpo. I'll be honest I have no hope. As it drawers closer I will not be able to help it and will have some, but I won't actually think it will happen.

Lots of love to you all, especially those on the painful journey when it just isn't happening ❤
Sending you so much love. You're not alone. ❤

My OH came home from work today and said that his friend at work kept going around showing their baby scan (for their 4 child). Saying how it just happened straight away each time. It’s horrible seeing how much it’s upset him. 😞. It’s not his friends fault though, they aren’t to know how we’re struggling, but still. 💔
I am sorry 😞❤

Anyone else get horrible insomnia before AF is due? I used to always be like ooh this is like pregnancy insomnia again but then obviously always got my period right after and asked my acupuncturist and she said its because of the rise in body temperature. So had this last night, does that mean I'm out this month?
I'm 10 dpo, I have one test at home but kinda dont want to subject myself to getting a negative yet again
I’ve been temping through my cycles and I agree with your acupuncturist because I would get this before my period. My temp would gradually climb through the luteal phase, then peak 2 days before AF, then it would drop over the next 2 days as AF started and I would sleep better. Don’t think it means you’re out! 🤞🏻

I totally get this, I went back to work the week after having a miscarriage in 2018 and one of our elderly customers came in with a new grand baby and was proudly showing her off (as she should) and she asked when I was going to “pop one out” and I didn’t even manage to answer her I just had to walk away and cry in the bathroom. Thankfully my manager was also there and knew I had just had a MC so he explained the the lady. But you’d think someone with so many years under their belt would be more cautious of their words
That must have been horrible. I hope that lady learnt from that too x
I had AZ the week after my miscarriage and my period came back 4 weeks and 1 day after my MC...so don't think it affected me. Im due my second on 21st June and was wondering how happy id be to have it if I am pregnant again. I actually heard a nurse on the radio earlier saying her friend is a gyno and she said she would have no concerns if she said she was pregnant the day after having the jab. Not that this is the issue, I know people are talking about cycles, just word vomiting here 😂 sorry ladies. Im 5DPO and I feel so nauseous. Im a proper sicky pregnant person so hoping its a good sign. 🤞
That's good to know!
Fingers crossed for you x x

Happy Friday all ❤

Thanks to you all being so helpful with your replies last week. Just jumping in to share my vaccine / AF experience. I got the first vaccine on Tuesday, was due for AF on Wednesday anyway and it arrived on time but it’s been very different to my ‘normal’ so far in terms of flow, colour and consistency 😲

We’ve decided to call this ‘trial’ cycle 1 due to the vaccine, and ignore the 14 months of not trying not preventing for my sanity haha. I’m armed with my app, vitamins and ovulation sticks ready for this cycle thanks to you all and hoping for the best.. but I feel like my AF might be all over the place for a few months now, especially with vaccine 2 being in July 🤦🏼‍♀️ Is there anyone that had their vaccines a little while ago now who can share their experience of how long it took to get your cycle back to how it was before?

(Totally get that some of you are not regular with your cycle anyway and certainly don’t want to cause offence.. just seeing if anyone who does have regular has any feedback on how it went for them)
I had the first vaccine on Wednesday I had Pfizer, I was due on today and it’s come like clockwork as it is. But I’m so much heavier than normal. I wouldn’t expect to be this heavy until day 2 usually, has anyone else experienced that?

I didn’t realise we were on another thread for ages! Congratulations to everyone who got their positives!

Just wondering is it possible to have an extremely regular period and to never ovulate? Following on from my last post in the old thread, I don’t seem to be getting highs or peaks on OPKs, I have sex pretty frequently each month and on my predicted ovulation day and I’ve not had a hint of a positive or late period.
We’ve been trying since December but it’s still too early for me to speak to a doctor as I’m under 30 isn’t it?

I had a lot of problems with my implant last year causing bleeding for 6 months & ive had so many ultrasounds and an mri that’s found nothing so I just know the doctors will think I’m being dramatic too soon.
