This made me get goosebumps ❤

These are what I call my "nice" ghost stories haha

I was in a taxi with my mate and we were talking about haunted houses. I said to my friend I was glad I live in a new build, and the taxi driver said 'What about the ground it's built on?'. Thanks taxi man, you ruined my sleep for a week!

Haha I said this recently to my friend, new builds can be just as haunted as an old house depending on the land its built on. I grew up on a very haunted estate which was built in the 60s, but it was on the site of an old airport. tit loads of activity. On another note why the hell have I chosen to go on this thread right before bedtime?!

Years ago, some friends and I visited Chingle Hall just outside of Preston, supposedly one of the most haunted houses in the UK. We were late for the tour so told to return at a later date. As we were driving away, the three of us all saw an adult male with a young boy and girl, all dressed in Victorian outfits, chopping firewood. We thought they were actors as part of the tour.
When we eventually returned to the house some months later, it transpired that there had once been a moat around the hall and the children of the house (a boy and girl) had both drowned in it, and that they were often seen in the grounds of the house! There were no ‘actors’, the only people at the house were the two guys who ran the tours. To us they just looked like people, we had all seen them and even remarked that they were there. We tried to visit again a few years ago but it is now closed to the public.
There is an amazing documentary about the hauntings at Crimble Hall on YouTube. A group of nurses, most of whom are non-believers, agree to stay their overnight and have all manner of weird experiences.

That's my morning sorted! The sun's about to come up where I am so I have all day to get over the spooks before it gets dark again. (y)

I have a couple of different stories to tell…
1. My grandmother had a severe stroke a few years ago and on the same night she’d had the stroke I remember waking up from a nap and looking at the time on my phone (6:21pm), then I went downstairs and remember vividly as I was cooking an ambulance passing with blue lights… the next morning when I found out she’d had the stroke my grandfather said she’d had it around 6:20pm and that they had to wait a while for the ambulance as the only one available had come from somewhere where it would’ve had to pass my house. Something was definitely trying to tell me something was wrong.

2. After miscarrying my baby boy at 16 weeks earlier this year, I was having a real “down in the dumps” day when I walked into the spare room, I looked down and on the floor right in front of the memory box I found a single white baby mitten. We have a rose planted in the garden for him, last week I found out I’m pregnant again and the same day it flowered… I like to think he’s around me somehow…

Would you mind linking to this, please? I don't mean to be useless, but all I'm getting is Nurses Appreciation Day videos!

That is beautiful. Congratulations aswell! I suffered a miscarriage around 3 years ago, since reading some of these stories I often wonder if I experienced anything but I don't think anything untoward happened at the time. I know the grief all too well though. Wishing you and your rainbow baby well.

Here's the link to Chingle Hall. Sadly it's not the nurses ep, it's ITV's Strange But True. I have the nurses episode in my browsing history somewhere, so will do some searching when I finish work and post to the thread.

If you're after another spooky documentary, BBC's Ghost Train is up in full on YouTube:

There are some fantastic stories in this! I won't spoil any, but the guy who sees his aunt walking down the street while driving to see her is my favourite.

The ghosts of Crimble Hall are infecting my mouse and stopping me finding them!

Yea if you have a link that would be great! edit - ah just seen your post above (spooky same posting time as me!) - will watch it!

I grew up in a haunted home there would always be noises, footsteps, things moving, someone sitting on the end of the bed etc. Then one night I was asleep in bed when someone kissed me on lips and I woke up to see a woman's face in front of me smiling at me. It of course took me by surprise but didnt scare me. My mum still lives there and occasionally things still happen.
A while ago we found out a neighbour had seen this lady quite a few times and did some research the land was once a big old farmhouse. It definitely has an atmosphere.

My aunts house was definitely haunted. It was terrifying to be in when she was alive. For some reason after she had passed the incidents just stopped.

The bathroom was the scariest room in the house. My dad always said to never lock the door in there. You always felt as someone was watching you and tbh that bathroom was the cure for constipation.

In one of the bedrooms you had to be careful because various people got held down in the same spot. My dad didn’t believe in it until he was held down and my dad is easily over 200lbs and over 6 foot.

My cousin woke up next to a little girl in the bed next to her. Same cousin was also pulled down the stairs by her feet.

The scariest thing that happened whilst I was there was when we were watching a horror film. The lights in the movie began to turn on and off. In the house all of the doors had a glass panel above them and when the lights in the movie began to flicker. The hall lights began to turn on and off. We ended up turning off the film and my aunt ended up going mad when we told her what happened as we didn’t know we weren’t allowed to watch horror films in her house as for some reason whatever is in the house thinks it’s being mocked

My aunt got punched in the back and pushed down the stairs by it and then held down in the same bedroom I was talking about later that day.

My aunt has been asked who is that dog that has been sitting outside of her house at night. My Aunt didn’t have a dog. My sister also seen a dog under the bed when she was staying over one night.

The kitchen was torn apart so many times by whatever it is that my aunt never bothered to get it renovated as it was a waste of money.
One time she came home and the entire cutlery drawer was torn off the hinges and the cutlery kept being found in different rooms of the house weeks after.

The house was blessed multiple times and each time it’d settle for a few weeks or months but then it’d just begin again. The priests who visited said there was more than one ghosts and that there was demonic energy in the house.

Lots of weird things happened there. Just ask if you want to know more.

@AlanBanan This has just freaked me out, wow! I've lived in two houses with activity but never anything so violent. Jesus.
That is the best way to describe the house. It was awful to be in. You could be happy and then the second you walk into the door. You get an overwhelming fear of being hurt and dread.

One time with my cousins and sister. We heard stuff downstairs and no one else was at home because the adults were at the pub (it was the 90s) and we got a bit brave and went downstairs to the sitting room to investigate. Nothing was there except for the fact the television turned on, fine we must’ve left it turned on, but all of us had a feeling not to turn around as there was something behind us watching.

Also about the bedroom, no one was allowed to go into there by themselves incase something happened. When my dad was pushed down my aunt heard a thud and ran upstairs and seen my dad red in the face on the ground and thought he was having a heart attack. Then when he told her something was pushing down on his chest, and she was like “oh that happens sometimes” as if it was the most normal thing.

Wow! That definitely sounds like a dark presence, like you say most likely demonic. What was the history of the house? Was it old? And I wondered why it settled down after your aunt passed

I don’t particularly believe in the theory but my mother thinks my aunt was a clairvoyant and ghosts clinged to her and that even when she was dying in the hospice she mentioned that whatever or whoever was following her is in the hospice with her. There’s also been incidents where family members houses in the same area started having activity whenever my aunt left the house. They think whatever was following my aunt was looking for her at their house.

Just wanted to share another story that happened to my grandfather when he was a young man
When my grandad was courting my nan he used to walk from his village to hers through a wood. One day on his usual walk through the wood he felt a hand on his shoulder preventing him from moving forward, before he could do anything else a massive branch from a tree landed at his feet. As soon as the branch landed the hand released his shoulder of course as he looked behind him there was nobody else around. If he hadn't of stopped at that moment the branch would of hit him and most probably have killed him. He had a guardian angel with him that day.

Its bizarre but possible I suppose, I mean why does my old bloke come with me wherever I go? He came with me to France and has moved house with me three times since and every so often up he pops to pinch something as a reminder "I'm still here you know!" I wondered if it was my grandfather whom I loved dearly who died when I was 13 and yet I get the impression its not him but someone else entirely whose identity I have no clue of, yet my eldest son saw Him when he was little at our old pub and I never have; Strange :)

It seemed to interact with children more than adults and but it didn’t like people who did not believe in it or was weary of the truth.

When my ma was heavily pregnant with my youngest brother. She was sitting on the couch watching telly and speaking with my aunty and all of a sudden my mam felt something pressing on her stomach and her belly was basically lobsided because the baby was moving to the side. Her stomach was in knots and she thought she was going into labour and so I called my dad and he came around to collect us to bring my mam home and get her ready for the hospital. After we left my ma was perfectly fine and didn’t go into labour until a few weeks later. She thinks it was pressing on her stomach.

A few kids have talked about the man. The man is mostly nice. One time one of the babies were around 3 or 4 and he was playing with the ball rolling it along the ground and it touched of the radiator and stopped and then the ball started rolling towards the baby even though no one had rolled it for him. A lot of the kids in the family have mentioned him and always call him by the same name which is Tommy but he seems not to like little girls but little boys as all of the boys speak about him, and my little cousin who is a girl said Tommy hurt her and scraped her face.

My cousin woke up to a white thing sitting on his chest but a black thing in the corner watching. We think this was sleep paralysis but we can’t be sure as a few people have mentioned the black thing in the corner.

My eldest cousin had her baby at 19 and one time she was out with her mates so my aunt was looking after the baby. She heard voices on the baby monitor and it was “don’t hurt him put him down” and my aunt ran upstairs as she thought it was my cousin and her fella fighting and the cot was side ways on the ground and the baby was on the floor in a pile of blankets with no one there. She says whoever said put him down is a guardian angel.

To be honest that is lovely. I would love that in the future for when my parents pass. My dad had something similar we were in the car driving and he just stopped saying his dad was with him as he could smell my granddads soap and talcum powder.

My best friend committed suicide when she was 20yrs old. It was absolutely devastating and a lot of us struggled as we would never know why. I can't remember how long it was after but It wouldn't have been much longer, a group of our friends were in the local bar/nightclub which my late friend absolutely loved. I remember it clear as day. She was with me in the toilet and she told me she was ok. I remember telling her to stay there but she just vanished. I walked the whole way round the bar to try find her and couldn't. Nobody ever believed me and thought I was just really struggling with my grief but I don't think I was, who knows. Nothing like that has ever happened since.
