Im so sorry for your lossMyself and my husband recently miscarried, we weren’t that far into the pregnancy but far enough to know we were expecting, we had a scan booked and sadly lost the baby, since then I have seen white feathers everyday and a feeling of calm washes over me, it’s hard to explain but it makes me feel like my baby is still near x
Thank you🤍Im so sorry for your loss![]()

We see lots of white butterflies around my forever baby daughters birthday (early summer). I’m not woo but like you I feel comforted and peaceful.
I'm reading this thread with interest. So many people have had so many different experiences with ghosts and spirits that for me it confirms life after death and gives me hope that Heaven really does exist and we'll get to see the people we love again. I know I should be spooked reading these stories but they're strangely comforting to meJust remembered I have another one! We moved into a rental property for 6 months when I was younger, and my bedroom had this weird built in cupboard that started like 3 foot off the ground? So it just had a door like half way up the wall. My mum came into my room one night because I was screaming and apparently I was backed right up to the wall just looking in horror at the cupboard, and the door to it was wide open - we always made sure it was closed and it was an old house so it was a bit of an effort to open it, it wouldn’t have just opened because of a draft or something.
I don’t remember this event at all but it had quite an effect on my mum and we moved out of that place after 6 months.
Should also note that due to my job, I’m around dead bodies quite a lot. In fact, on super busy days, I used to go and eat my lunch in the mortuary just for some peace and quiet, whilst I was filling out my death certificate/cremation forms paperwork. So absolutely not spooked by death, and I have a very science-proved-only view of the world. But I do believe that there’s some kind of level of paranormal around and I find it so interesting.
I’ve never once felt a “presence” from a dead body - but I mainly have been around people with explainable causes of death. This gives me hope that if life after death does exist, then perhaps it is just for people who haven’t quite found their way yet.I'm reading this thread with interest. Totally agree, my grandma died suddenly and on my way back home after the funeral (in a foreign country whereI lived at the time) I saw graffiti of her name written on a wall.. it was a name that didn't exist where I was so it was really random), and then about a week later i was at home and suddenly vividly smelt her perfume (no idea which perfume she wore). I had been very upset because of the unexpectedness of her death, but it gave me a sense of pieceSo sorry for your loss x i do think sometimes there are little signs from those we lose x
A friends 3 year old died from a childhood cancer and loved dragonflies. There was an slot on This Morning a few years back about this and I went into my kitchen and there was a massive dragonfly in there. Probably just coincidence but it was quite poignant that it appeared x
Few years back the day after boxing day i was talking about my grandad as it would have been his 100 birthday and as I glanced out the window a massive white feather fell from the sky.
sorry me again but I’ve been thinking about this all day- I think what happened to me yesterday relates to Stone Tape Theory. I’d heard of it before but had an extra look….whoever he was, he was doing a repetitive action which seemed to be picking something up from the floor and putting it on a shelf. The whole thing took about twenty seconds and seemed to be on a loop every two or three minutes. He definitely didn’t do anything other than that and I wasn’t at all scared just freaked out but in quite a calm way.I work in a charity shop on Saturdays, on a floor all on my own. Yesterday I was there with no customers and….there was a ghost with me.
it’s a bit hard to explain but if I wasn’t looking directly where he was I could see him. I got the sense he was just pottering around and didn’t know I was there. It was definitely a man, in dark clothing. I didn’t feel at all scared it was just really strange and creepy. I kept looking over, despite the fact I was scared I’d properly see him and be frightened.
it was the middle of the day, really well lit uncreepy room in an old but not incredibly so building, I was wide awake and having a cup of tea.
I think he was an old shop worker just doing what he does every Saturday.
Your stories are fascinating! Please share the story about the voice that was following you as a teenI love these kind of threads, Ive had a few things happen but I'm not sure if I have told them or not.
There was a demonic sounding voice that followed me for a few years when I was a young teen I can type that story up if anyone is interested, still the most terrifying thing that has happened that I have no explanation for.
When both of my dogs passed I would often awake to hearing that tappy sounds their paws would make on the kitchen floor. I get anxiety at night at times and one night I dreamt I was asleep on my sofa really anxious and woke up(in the dream) to my my dog coming up to snuggle up to me. He had passed only a few months before and I was having a hard time that year. He gave me such comfort in this dream. After a while he jumped off the sofa and walked back out the living room to an open door out into the garden. I like to feel it was his way of saying goodbye and everything would be alright. I woke up feeling such peace.
Several years ago I was in a b&b in blackpool with my dad. I remember having the most vivid dream that there was a man in a brown suit hanging right where my bed was. I kept trying to wake myself up but it wasnt happening and I was so freaked out when I did wake up i couldnt stop staring at the spot I dreamt of.
Yes it sounds like my old bloke who has been with me since I left the family home decades ago, through many a house move and even to a different country! I have never actually seen him though just the evidence that he's here like when he pinches things and returns them days later, actually he's nicked a DVD from the drawer that belongs to a friend so I'm waitting for him to give that back nowI posted on this thread a while back about a ghost of a boy who seems attached to our family, I call him Tom because that just seems to be the name that suits him.
We moved to an old terraced house. The boy would still visit but mostly be a sudden awareness that he was here or I would see him walk between rooms out the corner of my eye. In our house the two back rooms are joined together (so the back smallest room opens in to a larger bedroom that leads to the landing) and one evening I was getting the kids ready for bed when I was talking to my daughter in the bigger room and my son was in the smaller room. In my peripheral vision I saw my son run out of the smaller room and out the big room then on the landing and down the stairs. I was calling him back upstairs when my son then called from the small room ‘what is it mum? I’m right here!’ So guess Tom was back amongst us and having a bit of a play with the kids and visit us.
he isn’t frightening and has never caused us harm, but he definitely seems attached to us as a family and is following us. a friend of mine who is very in to spiritualism suspects that maybe when he was alive he was an orphan and just wants a family to be part of.

This made me get goosebumpsI've contributed here before with my stories about the council estate I grew up on, but I have some other stories that happened elsewhere. Years ago when I was with going out with my ex, his nan died very suddenly. She was only 70 and in good health but had a very sudden stroke. On the day of the funeral, me, his mum, her sister, and his brothers girlfriend all went back to his nans house. The boys all went to the pub lol, anyway me and the girls were sitting in the living room chatting about the day and obviously memories of his nan, when we heard a huge thump coming from upstairs. My boyfriends mum went upstairs to his nans bedroom and found a framed photograph on the floor that had fallen down. I remember her saying "She's here." I think she meant it in a comforting way, but I remember being terrified lol
Another experience I have revolves around my time working at a cinema. It was a tit job, with tit wages and even shittier customers but I loved it. Probably one of the best times of my life. We had a very close knit group there of friends and one guy in particular I was really close to. Sadly he was killed aged 20 in a road accident. I was devastated, we all were. After he died though strange things happened very late at night when we were closing down/cleaning up. I remember one occasion on the 3rd floor when I went to press the button on the lift, but as I put my finger out the button pressed on its on and lit up, the lift was called from elsewhere but I was the only person on the main building. Everyone else was in the staff room. Another time the lights all started flickering on the foyyer, and heavy doors would slam shut on their own. Probably the weirdest experience was after I finished a shift at like 3am, and was back at home, chilling on my bed (I was a night owl then and never slept) listening to music when suddenly I felt a breath go across my face. The best way to describe it was as if you're opening a really old, heavy chest lid and there's like a gust of soft air that comes out. It felt exactly like that. I don't remember being scared weirdly enough, but I did automatically think of my friend. He was the kindest soul and would never have wanted to scare me.
