My aunts house was definitely haunted. It was terrifying to be in when she was alive. For some reason after she had passed the incidents just stopped.

The bathroom was the scariest room in the house. My dad always said to never lock the door in there. You always felt as someone was watching you and tbh that bathroom was the cure for constipation.

In one of the bedrooms you had to be careful because various people got held down in the same spot. My dad didn’t believe in it until he was held down and my dad is easily over 200lbs and over 6 foot.

My cousin woke up next to a little girl in the bed next to her. Same cousin was also pulled down the stairs by her feet.

The scariest thing that happened whilst I was there was when we were watching a horror film. The lights in the movie began to turn on and off. In the house all of the doors had a glass panel above them and when the lights in the movie began to flicker. The hall lights began to turn on and off. We ended up turning off the film and my aunt ended up going mad when we told her what happened as we didn’t know we weren’t allowed to watch horror films in her house as for some reason whatever is in the house thinks it’s being mocked

My aunt got punched in the back and pushed down the stairs by it and then held down in the same bedroom I was talking about later that day.

My aunt has been asked who is that dog that has been sitting outside of her house at night. My Aunt didn’t have a dog. My sister also seen a dog under the bed when she was staying over one night.

The kitchen was torn apart so many times by whatever it is that my aunt never bothered to get it renovated as it was a waste of money.
One time she came home and the entire cutlery drawer was torn off the hinges and the cutlery kept being found in different rooms of the house weeks after.

The house was blessed multiple times and each time it’d settle for a few weeks or months but then it’d just begin again. The priests who visited said there was more than one ghosts and that there was demonic energy in the house.

Lots of weird things happened there. Just ask if you want to know more.
Why didn’t she move? 😅

I lived in a house that filled you with dread the second you walked into it, it got worse on the stairs and towards the top landing, I never felt happy in that house but the second I stepped outside I felt like me again. My dad and I did the house up top to bottom before I moved in and he only admitted it felt strange after I left. You would always feel watched too and one night I saw a tall figure the height of the ceiling just stood beside my bedroom wall.

Nobody would come to my house and I was only about 22 living alone with my 3 year old at the time so I left after a year.

She was not bothered by it most of the time. The stories I’m talking about are over a space of 30-40 years of her living there. There’d be months of only small things happening and then big things would happen for a few days. She said if you seen a dog big stuff would happen like people being pinned down or the kitchen being torn apart.

I have a couple of different stories to tell…
1. My grandmother had a severe stroke a few years ago and on the same night she’d had the stroke I remember waking up from a nap and looking at the time on my phone (6:21pm), then I went downstairs and remember vividly as I was cooking an ambulance passing with blue lights… the next morning when I found out she’d had the stroke my grandfather said she’d had it around 6:20pm and that they had to wait a while for the ambulance as the only one available had come from somewhere where it would’ve had to pass my house. Something was definitely trying to tell me something was wrong.

2. After miscarrying my baby boy at 16 weeks earlier this year, I was having a real “down in the dumps” day when I walked into the spare room, I looked down and on the floor right in front of the memory box I found a single white baby mitten. We have a rose planted in the garden for him, last week I found out I’m pregnant again and the same day it flowered… I like to think he’s around me somehow…
Congratulations xx

That is lovely. Congratulations 🤍🥰
Thank you ♥

Haha. Yep, I always wait to read this thread in the daytime lol I'm fascinated by the paranormal and usually quite brave in comparison to some. Until it gets dark haha

That is beautiful. Congratulations aswell! I suffered a miscarriage around 3 years ago, since reading some of these stories I often wonder if I experienced anything but I don't think anything untoward happened at the time. I know the grief all too well though. Wishing you and your rainbow baby well.
Bless you💕 it’s an awful, awful thing to experience. I’m so sorry you’ve had to experience it too and thank you for your kind words♥ I hope you’re doing okay 💕

Congratulations xx
Thank you ♥

I posted on this thread a while back about a ghost of a boy who seems attached to our family, I call him Tom because that just seems to be the name that suits him.
We moved to an old terraced house. The boy would still visit but mostly be a sudden awareness that he was here or I would see him walk between rooms out the corner of my eye. In our house the two back rooms are joined together (so the back smallest room opens in to a larger bedroom that leads to the landing) and one evening I was getting the kids ready for bed when I was talking to my daughter in the bigger room and my son was in the smaller room. In my peripheral vision I saw my son run out of the smaller room and out the big room then on the landing and down the stairs. I was calling him back upstairs when my son then called from the small room ‘what is it mum? I’m right here!’ So guess Tom was back amongst us and having a bit of a play with the kids and visit us.
he isn’t frightening and has never caused us harm, but he definitely seems attached to us as a family and is following us. a friend of mine who is very in to spiritualism suspects that maybe when he was alive he was an orphan and just wants a family to be part of.

Your stories are fascinating! Please share the story about the voice that was following you as a teen
Sorry I was on annual leave and havent been on much. I will try and make this as short as poss as it goves over a few years.

I first heard it when I was around 12-13, i woke up in the night panicked and just feeling dread. A couple of mins of feeling this and I heard a weird moaning sound( i know what youre thinking lol) and it really creeped me out. It only lasted about 10 seconds. The next day my mum asks me if I heard that weird noise and I said yes. Her and my dad said it was the weird bloke next door moving furniture around. I didnt really buy it and thought it was weird.
Not long after we moved house and all was well until about a year in(so I was around 13-14) I wake up again in the night with that same sense of dread. A couple of minutes later the moan comes back, this time its longer so maybe 30 seconds? It sounds like the noise the demons make on Ghost if you want to get an idea. The next morning I tell my mum I heard the noise(she heard it too) and my dad tells me he didnt hear it and it was the dog having a nightmare. He leaves for work and she tells me that they didnt know what it was in the previous house and they made up the furniture story to stop me getting scared. She says it was likely our old dog having a bad dream though.
Not long after I have a mate over for a sleepover. Again I wake up with that dread and hear the noise,i look down at my friend who is fast asleep. The next morning she says she didnt hear anything and neither did my mum or day. It was so loud I have no idea how they slept through it.

This is where it gets interesting, a few months after the sleepover I go away with school to this youth hostel. My friend and I are coming back from the showers in the evening and as we are walking down the corridor we both sort of stop dead in our tracks and HEAR THE MOANS. We both run into our room and she is freaking out and although I'm scared im so happy that someone else has heard it.

The last time I heard it I was about 14 and my parents had gone out for the day. I was in my room and suddenly the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I just knew it was coming. I hear the moans but this time it sounds like there are 2 or 3 and they are fighting if that makes sense? I see the dog outside just chilling so I know its not him. I shouted at it to leave me alone and put my music on and I have never heard it since.
Someone once told me that my parents stopped hearing it because they dismissed it and because I dismissed it I have stopped hearing it? I dont know, I have no idea what it was or what it wanted but its the most freakiest thing that has happened because it seemed to follow me.

Oooh goosebumps!! Why do I read this thread at night?!
Does anyone still live in the house? Were you ever able to find out any history about the building or previous owners?

Edit: sorry have caught up and read the clairvoyant theory. Really interesting!

My cousin, her son and her brothers still live in it and no I don’t know anything about the history of the area as they were built in the 70s but I do know her house is not the only house in the area that has experienced weird stuff.

Yeah with the clairvoyant thing I am not sure I believe. But, something did follow her and family members houses in the same estate would know if she had left her house as whatever it was ended up going to their houses to look for her. Then if she stayed the night in any of their houses weird stuff would happen.

When she was in hospitals whilst sick she said it was there and would begin to do stuff at night and even when she was in hospice dying she mentioned it to my other aunt that it was still there. My aunt even asked her how do you know and are sure it’s not another ghost (because it’s a hospice there’d be lots of activity there) and she was just like I know it is. She knew by the way it acted around her.

Stuff tends to follow that side of the family as I have 2 cousins who also experience similar stuff. But nowhere near as violent as what happened with my Aunt.

I did a ghost hunt night in an abandoned school in Whitechapel. It didn't finish until 3am. I feel asleep. Tbf I'm the biggest sceptic going so it was going to take more than a few noises to convince me. Sorry to be a misery 😂😂

I’m a skeptic to a degree as I think everything has an explanation. But when every person in my family including myself has had an experience in one house that no one can explain I have to believe in it to a degree.

Especially when it comes to the being held down stories. You could chalk it up to sleep paralysis but every time it happened to someone, it happened in the same room, mostly during the day and they all had the same story where they’ve been held down by their chest and they describe it in the same way as if their ribs are going to be crushed.

Also, I have friends in my aunts estate who did not know her and didn’t know I had an aunt who lived there, have said that strange things do be happening in their houses. I genuinely think my aunt was cursed or the land should not have been built on.

Mine isn't a big, exciting, ghostly story but it is worth sharing.

About a year ago, I lost one of my hearing aids. I just could not find it anywhere and I need two to function.

Rather than spend another fortune on a new one, or claim insurance (which would affect my no claims bonus), I asked my Audiologist if she had any secondhand ones I could buy (to be clear, this is the bit that sits behind the ear, not the bit that goes in the ear, which is made especially for you using a mould). As luck would have it, she did have one just like mine, although it was in a slightly different colour (a muted bronze as opposed to silver). No problem; nobody sees it and it was apparently just a few months old before its former owner passed. Plus, she gave it to me for a very good price.

Once my new ear mould had been made and I took ownership of my replacement hearing aid and started wearing the two, I started smelling the most beautiful flowers at odd times ... in the supermarket, in my car, while walking my dogs ... always the same beautiful scent, and only when I wear this hearing aid (sometimes, I won't wear them just to give my ears a bit of a rest, and during those times I never, ever smell the beautiful flowers).

Because of the Privacy Act my Audiologist isn't allowed to tell me who it belonged to, but when I told her my story her face lit up and she did confirm it belonged to an elderly woman who loved to garden.

We used to have a lot of unexplained activity at our old house. Not an old building - the house was built in the early 70’s (that’s me trying to convince myself that the early 70’s isn’t old 😜). When my eldest was weaning, she would lean right over in her high chair and look round me into the hallway and smile. I never really thought much of it until she was a toddler. She was very happily playing on her rocking horse - facing out into the hall when all of a sudden she jumped off, ran and hid behind the sofa and pointed out saying, ‘man! Man!’ There was nobody there. When she was a little older I was chatting to my mum on the phone when all of a sudden my girl interrupted and said, ‘Mummy, the man is behind you and wants to say hello’ 😳 I duly turned to around to nothing and said hello because I didn’t want to scare my daughter but my mum on the end of the phone was in a right state because it made her blood run cold! My daughter never really said anything more, I’m guessing she grew out of it but weird things always happen in or around the hallway. A picture flew of the wall and shattered - the nail intact in the wall,; the string at the back of said picture - unbroken. A toy music box left on a pile of stuff waiting to go upstairs, randomly started playing one evening. The door would knock and there was nobody there - on a few occasions coming home from work late at night, my husband would be standing in the the doorway because he’d heard me knock…when I was still coming home. I’d had a friend over who heard the door handle rattle and yet the door never opened. The worst thing was we had friends over one evening and while zoned out watching TV we all saw a person like shadow come down the stairs, throughout the hall and into the kitchen. There was no one there. I had a friend who walked her dog past my house one evening while we were out and she asked who was babysitting. No one was in the house - we had gone out as a family- and yet my friend said she could clearly see the shape of a person, stood in my kitchen through the nets at the window 😳 There’s a few more occurrences but we left the house a few years ago now and so far, never experienced anything since moving to our new home!

My house was built in 1903. It’s 3 stories. If someone comes downstairs from the top to the middle floor (19 stairs) there’s quite often the noise of a second set of footsteps behind them. I think it’s not so much ghostly as the wooden stairs clicking back into shape (or something).

I had a visitor a few years ago who wrote and asked me if he could come and visit the house as he grew up here from age 8 in the 50s. His daughter was mortified when he pointed out the spot they’d found his aunt dead. It’s in the ground floor guest bedroom. It’s funny because that room is really pleasant and anyone staying over always sleep exceptionally well. The amount of times guests sleep in here if in that room. Funnily enough the other guest room on the top floor is the same. That one I blame on the black out blind though.

I thought I'd add a couple more stories from my cinema days. Now I want to stress that these stories didn't happen to me, they were told to me by my then manager who worked in a number of cinemas. Ghost enthusiast's know that theatres and cinemas usually hold a lot of ghostly activity.

My manager told me a story about a cinema she worked at in the early 90s and it was again during a closing shift. This was around 2am and the building was empty apart from the staff who were all in the staff room waiting for their cabs to take them home. Suddenly an echoing, shrill scream came from all around them, it was a womans scream and it was so loud it made them jump out of their skin. My boss said it seemed to come from everywhere, right next to them but all around the building at the same time. They scarpered and waited for the cabs outside!

Another notorious cinema story I was told actually still gives me goosebumps. This happened to one of projection workers again in a previous cinema he had worked at.
He was up in the projection box shutting down, again late at night, and he looked down at the screen and could see a man sitting in the front seat with his back to him. The projection worker radioed down to the manager who was on the foyer to say that there was still a customer in one of the screens that hadn't left (he assumed it was a customer as he wasn't wearing staff uniform) When he got no response from the manager, he went downstairs himself to try and get rid of this customer. When he walked into the screen to confront the customer, there was no one there. Baffled he looked about but it was completely empty in the screen. He then said he caught a movement from the projection box up above. Right where he was just standing 5 minutes previously, was the same man he had seen this time looking down at him..... the projection worker screamed the place down and ran out and refused to go back up to projection. That story gave me nightmares when I first heard it!

I have no idea whether they are true, but there were so many ghost stories from the cinema and cinema workers.

At the cinema I worked at, screen 5 was the worst. No one wanted to go in there. It had a very oppressive atmosphere and you constantly felt like you were being watched. The cinema itself was built on a very old department store so it was steeped in history.

I had a slightly creepy experience this week, although it could be nothing. I have had to stay in purpose-built accommodation for parents whose children are having an operation at the nearby hospital (our son is fine, all went well). The building is not new but not ancient, a little dated (built in the early 90s), has a lot of heavy fire doors and dimly-lit corridors. There weren’t many families staying and it was very quiet.

On the first night, I woke about 2 am, no noise had disturbed me particularly, and a few minutes later, I heard a couple of the fire doors slam and somebody let themselves into a room. Didn’t think too much of it apart from it being a strange time, but then again their child may have been up all night till then, poorly.

On night two, the same things happened at the same time, and on the third night, I woke again, was not woken by any particular noise, I looked at my phone and it was exactly 2 am, and about 5 minutes later, I heard a couple of corridor doors go… but no key unlocking a door this time. I did feel a bit creeped out this time, to be honest; I couldn‘t get back to sleep for hours.

My husband thinks I’m making too much of it and probably the stress and worry of our son’s op amplified any anxieties or my imagination. Also maybe someone’s partner simply had a work shift and they were coming back from them taking over being with their child.

I’ve not found and references to the place being haunted. As I said earlier though, the top floor corridor (where my room was) was extremely quiet, dim and a little atmospheric. (Obviously the building has a connection to very poorly children being in the nearby hospital, some of whom sadly wouldn’t have survived.)

When I was a very young child, I used to see strange things in my room at night. I would see the end of my bed covered in coloured balls, moving lines going up and down my wardrobe doors and the same at my window. Really random but I remember it all scaring me and calling my mum. Probably my imagination.

A few times over the years, I saw a black and white girl wearing what I assume would have been an old nurse's uniform. Every time I saw her she seemed to have aged along with me. But the last time was when I was a teenager so again maybe just my young imagination that I grew out of? Also in my teenage years I had a lot of sleep paralysis and felt someone touch me from my neck to the middle of my back with what felt like a tip of a finger. Think I used to be able to see auras as well and have always had really vivid dreams, sometimes I wake up more exhausted than when I fell asleep, like my soul has been very busy. To be honest it all scares the tit out of me so I blocked it all out!

Has anyone ever visited a spiritualist church? I remember someone going years ago and they were told their guardian Angel was with them. I’ve always been intrigued but never visited one. Also psychics- or is that another thread altogether?

I've had 4 psychic readings. Two were spot on. I recorded one of them on my phone and listened back to it years later to find that we are now living in the exact house she described we would be. Maybe she put the ideas in my head to influence the decision who knows?! She knew that I'd had a miscarriage and also told me id have a daughter born in August 4 years from then, which I did. I was incredibly close to my nan and she has never come through to talk to me which I find strange. Sorry more clairvoyant experience rather than ghosty/psychic!
