I went to watch a medium a couple of years ago, was one with a big audience so I didn’t get a message or anything. However at the end there was a bit where she said she had spoken to this woman’s late husband and presented her with a bunch of flowers at his request. I had been speaking to someone about it a couple of weeks after and she said oh I went to see one (a different one) and the same thing happened.

I thought the one I had went to watch was good but they must just all follow the same old trope.

I wrote about something on this thread that happened to me earlier.
A few months ago I'd watched an episode of Uncanny that involved a TV. In the morning we were both woken by the TV downstairs blaring - it had somehow turned itself on. That's never happened before or since.
Anyway yesterday evening I was listening to a new Uncanny episode on the radio - about a UFO in the US. Anyway at the moment the witness said 'the lights went out' all the lights in my house went out. I nearly shat myself tbh
Now obviously this could be coincidence and an overactive imagination. Probably is. But I'd avoided Uncanny since that first thing and this was the first time I'd listened since. Which is annoying as I like it.
I just wondered if anyone else thought if you are a sensitive and receptive person you can open your mind to wierd stuff. Not necessarily bad - but odd. I can't watch any horror or occult things as I dwell too much.
I hope this all makes sense!

Bit of a backstory needed for this one: so when my mum was little, she and her family lived in a flat in an old house. They moved out when my mum was about 6 years old (late 1960s). This house still exists and is currently used as a shelter for asylum seekers.
As you can imagine by now it's a VERY old house and probably rat infested etc. So no idea if those are the source of the noises or if it's really something else.
You see, my uncle, mum‘s older brother died there in 1961. And one of the people who now lives in said flat swears he hears noises at night and is convinced the flat is haunted!
My uncle had seizures and died because of one. My grandma always said those seizures started after my grandpa threw my uncle at a wall when he was a baby because he wouldn’t stop crying Not sure if that's medically possible but I was thinking what if that's true and my uncle can’t find peace because he knows why he died? Could that be possible?

I worked with a lady who was part of some kind of group and told me that one day they did ouija and failed to close the circle, she said she went home laid on the sofa and was possessed. It was one of those "erm ok" moments but as others have said I would never mess.

I was shocked when I read it as the day before I almost stepped on a dead crow on my way to work (never seen a crow in the tropical country that I live in ) thennn later that day I walked into a new office and there was a massive cardboard cut out of a painting of a crow against the wall!!!

My eldest daughter used to work as a silver service waitress and a lot of events had entertainment booked. One particular event they had a Clairvoyant who spoke with my daughter.
She told her that she had a sister, now my daughter being clever told her that actually she had three sisters and a brother. The Clairvoyant then told her yes but only one is of maternal blood (true) we are a blended family. She then said that her Grandmother(my mother) had said she wanted me to know that she was watching over all three of us. My mother always told me and my two brothers that when she died that she'd be watching over all three of us, she said this often. My daughter automatically assumed that she meant she'd be watching over the three of us, me and her sister and her but I knew exactly what that message was saying. The fact that she used those very words "she wants you to know she's watching over all three of you" left me in no doubt that was a genuine Clairvoyant.

I don't know what to make of this so please forgive me whilst I ramble.
My Father in law died last Friday. It was expected but is still so damn horrible.
He was an avid mountain biker and every day since he died the weather has been beautiful mountain biking weather. Probably a coincidence.
But today, we went for a walk at a country park. Turned the corner and David Bowie was playing full blast who was my FIL favourite artist.
Wouldn't think anything of it but I asked him last night to send a sign that he was OK.
My boyfriend brushed it off as us "looking for signs" and it probably was a huge coincidence but we've walked that trail so many times, passed the park run event so many times and never have the organisers been playing 80s/90s music.

I believe in signs. X

Yes. Funnily enough, I recently had a chat with someone who works in a building reputed to be haunted. Lots of different paranormal shenanigans taking place, felt and seen by all staff. She didn't really want to talk her experiences much because she 'didn't want anything coming home with her '. Her parent had recently passed, and something odd happened at her home. And she wasn't sure if it was her parent or something had come home with her. But she was very wary of even talking about the building or the goings-on. Just kept saying "I don't want anything coming home with me". And I hadn't thought much more about it until I saw your comment.

I did listen to an Uncanny podcast once where a child spirit apparently went home with a family after they'd holidayed somewhere

I don’t know what it is, but child ghosts always make me feel so scared. The ghost I saw was a child (although at the time I didn’t know it was a ghost as it looked solid, like you or I). Maybe it’s because they are too young to die.

I spoke out loud to my granddad this evening and told him if he's around, I want to see proof and want him to show me.

I feel like I'm literally going nuts even speaking that out loud i am starting to believe more and more though. I've been reading a lot and I so hope it's true

I have thought of talking out loud and asking for a sign but if I did and something happened id probably shit myself

I find myself freaking out over the slightest thing if I've been reading about scary stuff. Like sometimes my dogs will just stare at something - a random corner of the room or a clearing in the forest - and if it's a normal day I'll just assume they saw a spider or a rabbit etc. If I'm already freaked out, I'll obviously assume they're trying to save me from an army of ghosts and/or murderers.

This is cool! I used to be able to tell when the phone was about to ring and who it would be but this all happened around the same time as some of the other experiences I’ve explained here - I was sort of 16-24 so I wonder if that was significant as I’ve not had anything much since!

My mum is a very no-nonsense, loves facts, not prone to flights of fancy northerner from Lancashire. Both myself and my mum had weird experiences when a relative died though not the same relative.

When my Pop died (that was my mum’s dad) I was only about 4 so didn’t really know much about it or when it happened, he was a pipe and cigarette smoker all his adult life and died of lung cancer, I don’t even know how aggressive it was or how ill he was or how long for, I just remember him being in his big chair with a checked blanket on his knees. Anyway, as he became more ill he went into hospice care. Mum has only ever told me this story once but it’s not like her to have anything except a rational explanation which she doesn’t have for this. She said that Pop had one particular nurse who was very forthright and no nonsense with a very strong Lancashire accent. She was a really good nurse and despite her brusque manner Pop really clicked with her and always wanted her to do his care. Mum said she heard, clear as day, at the exact moment she found out later Pop had died, that nurse say, in her forthright, no nonsense way, “Well come on then, if you’re coming!”. Not that spooky but pretty cool and Mum was the only one not to have some sort of experience in our old house and is so painfully rational and logical, and she couldn’t find a way to rationalise this. (I however am not and now after reading all your posts, am really not keen to wash my hair even though my husband is literally in the other room and I’ve never once had any odd experiences in our house, just lots of resident mice )

My own weird premonitions were when my Grandad (Dad’s dad) died and when my Grandy (Mum’s mum) died.

I was about 17 when Grandad died, and woke up on just a normal day. Could not shake the feeling that something was missing but hadn’t slept through my alarm, hadn’t forgotten to do my homework, hadn’t forgotten anything I needed to take to school (I was in sixth form). Then my dad came in and the minute he opened his mouth I knew he was going to tell me Grandad had died. It was weird. In fact, the minute he said it, I just said “yeah I know” - Dad was like, how? As he’d only just found out himself and hadn’t told anyone yet.

As for my Grandy, she always used to spend Christmas with us. I remember having this really vivid feeling about 9 christmasses ago that this would be the only Christmas we’d ever have like that again. Hit me quite hard and was quite emotional, but it was like I just knew. I heard myself say, in my own head, completely randomly, “This will be the last Christmas like this.”

That following year, Mum and Dad moved out of the house we lived in at the time to relocate and Grandy stopped coming to spend Christmas with us because it was too far and her health had started to deteriorate. A couple of years after that, she passed away and we haven’t had a Christmas like that one since. Again, weird rather than creepy but

I absolutely love hearing other peoples stories. It just shows that this is more common than everyone makes out.
I wish people were more open minded and to not shut these things down.

Nor me. When I was a kid some of my mates were doing a makeshift board in the locker room each lunchtime. I can remember one day they wanted me to join in and I wouldn’t, so they asked me just to keep my finger on the glass to keep the circle while one of them went for a wee. I didn’t like it and left ASAP. Anyway, one day they all ran out if there having got really spooked. One of them said they had strange bangs and voices at home for weeks. They all wore crosses for weeks as well.
That was the end of the board sessions. Oh and the head of RE got to hear about it, came into our class and gave us all an absolute bollocking as we wouldn’t grass up who’d been doing it.

Problem is there are so many fake haunted house videos on the internet…you can never tell what is fact or fiction.

I don't know if some people are more suggestable and see paranormal reasons when there aren't at all - or genuinely seem to attract odd happenings because they have open minds?
Its quite fascinating really.
I just know I avoid ghosty, horror, paranormal stuff if I can though I find it very interesting.

Like you say, many of us have an open mind and I believe that spirits present themselves to people who do. Whilst I’ve always been interested in the paranormal since I was a child, it wasn’t until I reached adulthood that I experienced any of it. Until then, I was open-minded about the subject, but never quite sure whether it was all fictitious.

Now I do believe it exists and when you think about how many people have experienced the supernatural worldwide, they cannot all be making it up.

But if I watch/listen/read about anything particularly frightening, it does play on my mind for a few days.

I mean this is all very interesting but I personally remain sceptical of these kinds of things because different channelers often say different things. Not necessarily about these people but I'm interested in Elvis for example. And some youtube channelers say he hasn't reincarnated yet, others say he has and is now an American female politician. Others say his spirit hates Priscilla and calls her evil, and yet in others his spirit claims to love Priscilla and kisses her goodnight every evening. Now, all these things can't be true at the same time and yet all these channelers may be completely convinced that the message they received is accurate, but how we interpret things is inextricably linked to our own psychological biases.

I have also read about soul groups and believe in them, but in this case would question the same group of souls reincarnating again and again into royal families. That seems like they'd be severely limiting their life experiences by not exploring other avenues and the multitude of books I've read on reincarnation cases often stress the need for the soul to live all aspects of the human experience. It doesn't appear common for souls to incarnate in the same or similar circumstances over and over again. All of this is to say that I'm not necessarily disputing that these modern figures are reincarnations of past figures, but that there really is no way to prove it and I'm sure you can dig around and find psychics who contradict this one and say Anne Boleyn is someone other than Meghan, and the same for Harry, William and the rest.

My friends who live(d) in older houses have experienced giggling children, noises and sightings so I assumed I was safe moving into a modern house that was only 6 years old.
Then a couple of years in it started. Having been hauled off to psychics by neighbours and friends. I remember one of them saying it was connected to the land and what had been there before.
Turned out one of the spookies wasn't happy with what I'd done to the garden.

My mum always always said don’t talk about these things aka paranormal stuff because you’ll bring it into the house. Whether it’s psychological or something more woo woo I get it.

I try to think rationally about this stuff, like telling myself just because I’ve read about it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen but it’s hard! I love a ghost story, I love true crime. My husband works away a lot and without fail every time he goes away I immediately worry I’ll be the next target for some criminal or a ghost is going to appear in my living room it’s not even that I don’t like my own company, I absolutely love it, but decide when I am on my own that is when I am going to be haunted
