Yes I agree. When I was talking about neighbours, I was thinking about people like Lisa Armstrong always papped at the same angle putting the bins out so that the Daily Mail could ag her off. That looked like someone who lived opposite her selling photos . As far as I can see, since she moved, there have been no pictures of her putting the bins out or of her in her pyjamas etc. Agree most of the time if they are not in Soho or the West End they have called the paps themselves.

My "career defining" remark was about the feeling I had that he really tried to build a career outside of the mcu and it never really took off (like so many marvel actors, I find). And of course he is successful and has a certain security with this role (loki), but he doesn't (or didn't) strike me as the man who would settle for a safe job, more as a man who would relentlessly try to do something new, to keep things exciting. But I guess we all have to pay the bills, in the end. And keep doing this job you don't really enjoy anymore is better than disappearing from the public eye. All if my interpretations are pure conjecture, of course.
My mistake if I expressed myself the wrong way before.
I have to say I am looking forward to the loki show though, because it seems we will see more of his comedy side, which is nice.
I think Tom did at least try to build a career away from MCU, at one point any way. The Night Manager, I Saw the Light, High Rise, Corialanous (we won't mention Kong Skull Island).
The Night Manager was rumoured to have a second series which hasn't happened. The Kong thing looked liked it was the start of a Franchise but was awful. I Saw the Light might have lead to more light/romantic roles but they're kind of out of date. He could do more Shakespeare but covid has scuppered that for now.
But I do wonder if he thought he was in the frame for Bond? But again that ship has sailed.
I like Tom and am looking forward to Loki. But I do think he is one of those actors who was meant for bigger things. He's a guy, so it's not too late for him.
But then when you look at Benedict Cumberbatch who quietly happily signed himself up to the MCU, it obviously has its compensations.

No you expressed yourself perfectly. I'm not a fan of his so dont know that much about him really outside of Marvel and The Night manager. Maybe he would rather do other things but he looks so different as Loki that shouldn't be too hard of he wanted to. I think more of the problem is that he is yet another posh British bloke in acting. It's a crowded market!
so Zawe and tom are most likely living together. She did a live interview and in the back is the same painting and wall that Tom has shown in his house (the wall isn't as much pf an indication though lol but the painting looks identical)

Or they think its no ones business and nothing to do with their acting careers. I wouldn't blame Tom after his foray into showmance! I respect celebs who keep their relationships completely separate from their work.

Kids watched it while I made dinner because they couldnt wait! From the bits I saw, it seemed a slow start but got better later inbthe episode but like I said I was in and out. I'll watch it properly tomorrowOooooh I am home alone tomorrow too! I'll watch and report back
