But today I applied for the biggest I'm Thankyous highschool place and I'm not okay.
How do I have 2, two year olds and a almost highschool child 😭 they're all still tiny babies.
It really does fly by 🩵 my eldest is year 10 come next week. Which I really don’t understand, as I’m only 25??

My nearly 4 year old (4 in less than a month) had her tonsils removed at the start of August, and to cut a long story short, 8 days later suffered a large bleed and was hospitalized for a few days while they investigated. She is severely anemic and is now on multiple meds for the foreseeable.

She's not a lazy child, attends pre school full time as I work, so is on the go a lot. She has always been very very pale and they believe she will have always been anemic, I'm pale and blonde so we've always put it down to just her genes. While she is on the go at pre school, I cannot for the life of me get her to walk anywhere, and it's not from lack of trying either. She gets so tired and says her legs are tired. On Saturday I asked her to walk around town for a little while with the promise of a magazine, she tried her best but was so upset from feeling so tired. I am wondering if this is down to the anemia? For context the average 4 year olds HB levels are 120, my daughters were 70 and there is still a chance she will need a transfusion if her levels haven't risen at her next blood test.

I don't want her to rely on a buggy forever but I also don't want to put pressure on her health, she is already far too big for her current joie stroller (she's 105cm) but is under the weight limit (14.1kg).

I'm at a loss. I see so many children younger than her walking everywhere and I can tell people look at her when she uses it. :(

It certainly sounds like it.
The tiredness from anemia personally was crazy.
And from most people I know seem to say that tiredness and fatigue were their biggest problems!
How long has she got until her next blood test?

These were my thoughts too, and it doesn't bother me that she uses it, it's just the comments I've had from friends. One even laughed when I got the stroller out my boot for her the other week.

Her next bloods are in around 2 weeks. They've given me 3 months worth of iron supplements to mix in with her juice or water, so far so good, but she's just so tired bless her.

My daughter is going on her first plane ride on Wednesday when we go on holiday so naturally she’s full of cold. I’m worried the pressure is going to make her ears hurt. Has anyone got any tips for anything that helps? Shall I just give her a snack for take off and landing?
I'm cabin crew and I find a little bit of olbas oil on a hanky to get them to breath in.... it's a life saver!!just relieves the pressure. Some airline carry olbas oil onbaord (my airline does) so if you forget they will get you some if you ask.

Imagine making snidey comments about a child with health issues 🙄 strangers is one thing because they robably don’t realise but friends is a bit crappy. Honestly sounds like she’s just so tired, I’d let her use the buggy and tell anyone who makes a comment to do one

At her next appointment can you ask if she would be able to have an iron IV?
I've been anemic my whole life and I can't absorb iron tablets very well so I now have 3 monthly iron infusions. They completely make a difference and I can immediately feel my energy change.
It's unfair she should have to suffer the fatigue is alot for me to handle as a grown up so I can't imagine how it leaves her 😔

Second the IV infusions (think you also suggested them to me a while back!) honestly a lifesaver.

I would much rather this than the daily supplements, I'll mention it to the GP! She really is so incredibly pale and has always tired quickly when walking, she sleeps like a log too bless her, so I think it's likely she's always had it. She eats such a good diet though and loves her veg, I feel like I've failed her all this time. She was so poorly after her bleed, but I suppose I'd never of known any of this otherwise. Thankfully she's always been of full health and she's never needed any sort of blood test before which would have shown it!

Honestly the comments my friends make about many aspects of my parenting style make me laugh. We still co sleep and one of my "best friends" (no longer in contact due to her comments) told me I was stupid for fully moving her into my bed. Why can't I? We live alone, I have a superking bed, we both get the best sleeps ever and it keeps her happy and makes her feel safe!!

My daughter is 3.5 and quickly gets bored walking if she doesn’t haven’t a friend to run around with. If you’re happy to use the buggy then I would stick with it. I hate lugging our buggy around so I bought a Tula pre school carrier, I try and encourage her to walk but when she puts the brakes on I can just carry her on my back.

Your friends need to keep their comments to themselves. Poor baby… I hope the supplements help and in the meantime you use that stroller as much as you bloody well need to x

My son has been to nursery for all of 4 days and has had a cold for a fortnight followed by a d+v bug this weekend which has gone through the 3 of us. Is this our lives now for the foreseeable 🫣🤣 when does the sickness end…

Sounds about right. We have a constant cycle of bugs in our house, definitely gets worse in the winter though.

So my daughter is at nursery and we’ve had a social service visit over bruises we couldn’t explain. I’m mortified. Anyone else been in this position?

My friend had an SS visit over a bite mark the dad caused play fighting (a gummy bruise, not teeth marks) - although actually it wasn’t just SS, it was nonsense as she had to take the children to the local hospital to get completely checked over, and the police visited, the dad wasn’t allowed with the children alone until the end of the investigation. My friend was mortified (and furious with both the husband and the nursery). However, the nursery has reported countless other families too. The manager was adamant she’d lose her job if she didn’t report the incidents. So don’t worry, it’s just a bit of process that they have to go through, although excruciatingly annoying and a waste of resources, let’s face it.

I had an ongoing back and forth battle with my daughter’s old nursery with accident at home forms - I made them check their CCTV thoroughly on a number of occasions. Kids bump, bruise and scratch themselves all the time.

How was the SS visit? Hope you had a sensible one x

It was fine, it got closed down quickly but nothing quite like a SS visit to make you question your parenting 🙈
