Do you think you do too much with her, so she’s never bored , and once she is bored, she’s miserable? Mr B always over compensated with his eldest, to the point he couldn’t be bored and he was miserable and couldn’t even sit for 5 minutes because he was always being taken out and spoken to and played with. Yet, my kids don’t go out much and they all independently play
no, she can easily spend an afternoon at home if it’s raining with her cars , or playing puzzle games or Zingo. She just prefers to be outside, she would rather run around outside than be in watching tv or doing anything indoors. I’d rather be outside at the park than stuck inside. Saying that, she can easily sit and watch junk on YouTube for 2 hours 😂 She will happily sit and play with her cars if I’m making tea or washing my hair.

How do we transition from no pants to undies with potty training? My little boy is doing fab on the potty for wees and poos but only when he has no pants on. We tried undies today and he weed in them. We’ve explained you don’t wee with pants on, but do we need to give it a bit longer?
My 4yo struggled quite a bit with the transition to underwear. She got the hang of it eventually, it just took a bit of patience and keep reminding her to go to the toilet

Hi all.

Sorry if TMI but I’m a bit concerned. My 3.5 year old has been potty trained since before they turned 3. Been really good hardly ever any accidents. On the rare occasion has had a pee accident at preschool and they’ve said she’d been distracted playing and just didn’t make it on time. But never any poop accidents.

But then today randomly she has had two poop accidents. She didn’t tell us either time, just smelled it. The first time she was playing in her room and said she was too busy playing. Then the second time was when she was in bed, she had got up for a poo but hadn’t done one (this is a nightly thing to go through a list of needing a pre/poo/drink to delay bedtime anyway so didn’t think much of it). But went in to check on her there and she’d done one in her pull up so had to change her while she was asleep.

They weren’t diarrhoea like or anything. Just a bit worried this has happened twice today. Anyone have any experience of this or advice?

Maybe just shift bedtime by 15-20 minutes rather than 40? Try both sides of 7:20 if you can and see which has the best success rate? She could be overtired at 7:20pm after a 6am wake up… have you got a red light for her room? Try no screens an hour before bed (maybe you already do this, I’m rubbish at it), see if you can get her in the zone. Good luck x
No lights as doesn’t help, i have the humidifier on for white noise which helps but turn it off after a few hours as it sometimes wakes her up if it’s on all night. She was asleep last night for 7.20pm and she was up even earlier 😫 we read as many books from 6:45pm till bedtime so I limit screen time too.

she usually sleeps 7:40pm-7am but not sure what’s going on atm..! I’m just exhausted and not a clue what’s happened to her sleep😂

I’m not sure whether 3yo has a UTI… he keeps saying his tummy is sore above his belly button to the left and he went for a wee 4 times in an hour earlier and weed on the foot stool, which isn’t like him. He also wet the bed last night, but hasn’t complained of it hurting when weeing. I did google symptoms and he has a couple, but the pain in the upper tummy is throwing me off…

Just thought I'd say that he's not too young for a single bed 😊
I have a couple of friends who have never used a cot and put them straight into a bed.
My oldest went into a bed at 22 months and my second at 2 years 😊
Is a bed guard enough to keep them from rolling out at this age?

yeah im not saying it like that sorry! , I meant it as she never takes her kid outside unless it’s to the shops 🫠
Yeah I don't.
Perhaps she has anxiety? I don't particularly leave the house often with my kids, unless there's another adult. I can do shops on my own solo but that's my limit.
I'd reach out, there could be an underlying issue.

I really like my 3yo pre school, and he loves it, but they have really pissed me off today. We had a termly review and she was all proud and said how he can say 2 words (big cup) together. But he says sentences at home? Not proper full on sentences, but can string more than 6 words together. They have referred him to speech and language, and while he is behind, I don’t think he needs it. They were shocked at some of the things he said at nursery this week, but he’s non stop talking at home. I don’t think he’s a big talker at school, but he’s a lot better than where he was even 3 months ago. And because I’m such a quiet person, I just nodded in agreement, but really should have stood my ground 😭
I’m surprised they have referred him without your consent. My son has a speech delay and some social communication issues and we were very keen for the nursery to refer him and said so but we still had to sign a few forms first to say we agreed with their assessment.
If your son is a bit behind then the speech and language therapy can’t hurt? I know you said he’s quite chatty at home but the therapy might improve his confidence and get him talking more at pre school too.

Any ideas for rainy days outside of the house? We’ve done the cinema and planning on bowling but am I missing anything? I’m sick of this miserable weather and I hate staying indoors (but no playgyms!!) 🙏🏼

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Mini A has been potty trained for a good few weeks and she’s done really well, we didn’t have accidents but suddenly the last week she thinks pooing in her knickers is funny. When I ask her why she does it she laughs and zones out. Obviously I’ve told her off and told her it’s dirty, she knows a potty is for wee and poo as she tells me. So.. I’ve said to her if she keeps intentionally poo’ing in her pants we aren’t going anywhere. We are meant to be going to the zoo today and I don’t want to take her if she’s just going to purposely wee and poo in her underwear cos it’s disgusting. She knows full well when she needs to go… has anyone got any experiences of this? At first I thought it was an attention thing but she was with my dad all yesterday and even though he kept asking her she kept doing it. He kinda shouted at her and then when she needed a poo she took herself to big toilet, (we don’t really raise our voices but when she’s done it on purpose it gets frustrating)!!!! So she knows what’s going on. Hopefully the threat of taking away the nice things we do mean she starts realising it’s not funny!

Even if he isn't, school will definitley help him. They have so much support.
Most schools also have support staff especially for children with speech and language struggles.

You will probably find he'll actually get much more support being at school than at nursery
I know deep down I know you’re right. My friend said similar. I really don’t know why I’m worried so much 😭😭

Only me again, dipping in with another issue! Lol
My little one is 21 months old and since he was 5 months old he has had a bath every single night. I’ve never skipped it. Xmas, holidays etc…. He’s HAD that damn bath.

However, tonight is the second night in a row he has become hysterical. Really panicked crying and real tears as soon as he hears the bath running. The crying carries on for about an hour into bedtime too - standing up in his cot screaming.

this is alien to me. It has always been a lovely calm routine of bath, bottle, cuddle, story bed, sleep.

I should also mention he’s also become scared/refused his milk. 9 days in a row now he’s pushed it away and hasn’t had any milk at all. Not too concerned cos he drinks loads of water.

please tell me this is a phase? It’s really distressing for me.

You know what my son love doing, he loves dabbing a bingo dabber thing on paper. I’ll draw different sized circles and will ask him to dab in the circle and he’ll sit and doing it for ages but he gets so bored drawing. Does he have a chalk or white board? mine loves his as well, and those little boards with the pen and the shape you can draw on
I got him some Dino stamps he did them a few times and just lost interest. I have a board with the pen and shapes and he got bored of that also! He did it loads and now isn’t really interested. He will sit and do a tiny bit of Crafts but not for long.

Oh, I don’t mind being outside. I hate the park. We have a theme park by us that we have passes for and use a lot. I prefer soft play than standing in a park. I always find them so cold, even on a boiling hot day. I don’t think I’ve ever actually taken mine to the zoo, apart from Chessington, but I don’t think you can call that a zoo
Anyway, I spend enough on rent and bills, that home is where you will find me 😂
😂😂😂 mini A isn’t a huge fan of soft play, I’ve took her to a few and she just wants to leave after an hour or so. She keeps asking to go back to CBeebies land, she’s obsessed with it. We did the £25 toddler and parent pass that’s only week days and non school hols and it’s such a good day out. We go CBeebies all day and carvery on the way home 😂 roll on spring & summer

Potato with tiny tuft of hair though 😂😂😂

My mornings are chaotic, but that’s because I can’t be arsed to sort things out the night before, and then regret it in the morning (this has been an ongoing battle for 9 years of school runs 🫠)
I don’t know how, but all of my 6yo school socks don’t match, and the 3yo apparently has 1 sock that gets rotated. I could easily sort the clothes the night before, but I’d rather be running around the house the next morning, looking for socks!!
Oh see it's mostly the 3yo's utter refusal to do anything that derails us!
