I think my daughter could possibly have it, as seems weird to have all those infections together. The doctor did mention it but said her tongue and tonsils didn’t have any coating or pus. She’s been given amoxicillin anyway but I do feel a bit worried and will be keeping close eye on her. Hope every one isn’t too worried ❤
Oh god hope she’s ok!!

Does it still work do you think if the child doesn't fall asleep independently? So at bedtime one of us (dad usually) stays with her until she falls asleep so that's what she expects in the night too.. So I think we'd end up taking her back to bed and staying there with her and then she'll just stay awake still ... I don't know, it's probably worth a try.
I'm not sure really.
I mean, it should do because you'd just have to stay with her when she gets up to start with but she should eventually just stop getting up, see the clock is blue and hopefully go back to sleep herself.
Maybe? 😂

Thanks for the replies I appreciate them.

Just gently reminded her this morning to tell us if she needs to go, we’ll see what happens. No sign of anything today

Hi all!
my Little one is due to start nursery soon, was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for labels to put in her clothes and bits, Thankyou!
Definitely a stamper. We just have out last name on ours so I can use it for all the kids. We also use stamptastic.I have tried all sorts of labels over the years and this is the easiest

Spent 3 hours at out of hours gp in the hospital today despite having an appointment. Turns out my daughter has an upper respiratory infection, tonsillitis, an ear infection and conjunctivitis. The eye drops have been hell getting them in but she’s done so well waiting and being checked over by the doctor. Honestly to look at her you’d never know she’s unwell until she randomly spikes a fever and needs to rest. Her eye only started getting gunky when we were in the doctors room but had been weepy yesterday.
Oh bless her! What a combination of awful things. At least she should be on the mend soon though :)

I’m more stingy during the day when I’m off on a Wednesday/Thursday and when I’m at work it’s not on at all. It’s literally only at night! I’m thinking of keeping it off from 7pm to 12am and then leaving it on for the rest of the night - it’s only set to 40 degrees on the boiler though and the only rooms that have the heat are my room & my daughters!

The night she’s at her Dads I don’t put it on at all 🤣🤣🤣

i colour with mine too i like that cos it’s not messy! i find when we colour though i get carried away and start colouring properly and dead good then get kind of offended when he scribbled all over it 🤣

don’t feel bad for shouting. it happens. he won’t remember it by the morning. He still loves you. they test us sometimes and it’s ok x
Hahaha that is so funny. Mine doesn’t really like colouring properly. He’ll scribble on the page and then want to go onto the next. And so on until the end. And then start again. I think girls are defo into arts more than boys

I know I just feel terrible. I’m such a push over 🤣. He cried for like 2 seconds but I just feel so bad. 🙈. And also my partner neverrrr tells him off I have to be the bad guy 😪

My first didn't sleep through the night until about 5years old. Baby Daffy is now 2 and still hasn't. I live on coffee and hope every day!

Anyone find it so hard to wear their toddler out after their nap?

Baby Daffy will wake about 2pm aftern an hour or so of sleep, usually pretty grumpy and clingy for a half hour. Then oldest is home from school, start homework, dinner etc and it's so hard to keep the youngest entertained and tired him out before bed. Roll on summer in the garden!!!!

Edit to add:

I'd anyone could share thier afternoon 'routine' that would be great
Could you consider cutting the nap?
If they're not tired by bed time, maybe?

Anyone got any tips for a growing 3 year old who keeps waking up at 6am hungry?! She eats so much throughout the day and it’s not just snacks, on Sunday night she had basically an adult sized bowl of spag bol and wanted more spaghetti 🙃 she had cereal before bed last night too. I wonder if nursery aren’t feeding her bigger portions🙈 I’m gunna mention it today and see if she can get a bit more lol
We went through a similar phase, i would give her apple and peanut butter and that would seem to fill her up a bit more. Its a growth spurt thing I think.

Also water as well. Grown up’s think they’re hungry but most of the time need water, same with kids.

Does she have a water bottle at night next to her?

Only me again, dipping in with another issue! Lol
My little one is 21 months old and since he was 5 months old he has had a bath every single night. I’ve never skipped it. Xmas, holidays etc…. He’s HAD that damn bath.

However, tonight is the second night in a row he has become hysterical. Really panicked crying and real tears as soon as he hears the bath running. The crying carries on for about an hour into bedtime too - standing up in his cot screaming.

this is alien to me. It has always been a lovely calm routine of bath, bottle, cuddle, story bed, sleep.

I should also mention he’s also become scared/refused his milk. 9 days in a row now he’s pushed it away and hasn’t had any milk at all. Not too concerned cos he drinks loads of water.

please tell me this is a phase? It’s really distressing for me.
We had this, and solved the issue by doing bathtime straight after tea and giving her pudding to eat in the bath while we did her hair. I can wash hair while she eats an ice lolly and job done, no fuss

Those who stay with your little ones until they're asleep, what do you then do if they wake and scream every time they realise you're not there. It's constant with mini Pillows at the moment, and I mean proper full on hysteria 😭
Mine does this and I have to keep going in and getting back. But usually he doesn’t get up. It only sometimes he wakes up crying. I feel your pain tho it’s hard work ain’t it 😞

we had swimming this morning but it’s just literally torrential.. oh right yeah I guess you’ve got a point. She’s really testing my patience but since she’s had some lunch she’s now watching junk on YouTube 😊 we’ve got to go to the pharmacy soon to pick my stronger painkillers up so I’m going to take her to Lidl for a cookie 😋
Does she still nap?

Omg that makes me feel so guilty 😂 i was ironing my work top this morning and he went ‘i miss you mummy’ and i was like omg i’ll quit my job and stay home i miss you too 😭😭😭
Omg 😂😂😂 I know it’s heart breaking ain’t it. He’ll soon get used to the new routine but it’s a hard change. He’s just making you feel bad they never do it to their daddy’s

Mini Pillows is waking early hours of the morning and crying asking to come in to our bed. I relented last night as I just wanted sleep.
I guess it's stupid to ask for any tips, I suppose the only options are leave her to cry and hope she goes back to sleep or just let her in 😬 Or try just sitting with her until she goes back off but I tried that last night and 15 mins later she was still awake, just staring at me. Hoping it's just a phase haha. I don't actually have a problem with her coming in with us, though she is fidgety.

No, not that I can think of...

I've just sat with her for the best part of an hour trying to get her to sleep. Every time I think she is and leave the room, she howls. I mean, it's an ear piercing shriek actually rather than a cry.
She self settled from 4 months up until maybe November/December time. I don't get it.
It's been so bad lately sleep wise I've been thinking of running away and just leaving. The only thing that stops me is knowing my partner couldn't cope on his own.
Jesus, that’s rough on you big time. Might feel like a backwards step but can you stick her in your bed for a bit? I’ve noticed mine wakes much less if she’s in our bed. If we’re having a rough time of it she goes in there for a few days then we put her back in hers and see if her sleep improves. Also can you maybe let her sleep with something you’ve been wearing? She might find that reassuring as she drifts off and falls into a deeper sleep?

is she in a deep enough sleep when you leave her? Just trying to think of possibilities x
