Fingers crossed. I’m ashamed to say at some points I was quite scared of her as she was so vicious. I’ve never felt like that before.Maybe it’s just the adjustment. hopefully it won’t last forever

we’ve all been there at some point i Think! I’d let her settle in and see how that goesFingers crossed. I’m ashamed to say at some points I was quite scared of her as she was so vicious. I’ve never felt like that before.
Thank you. You’re right. I do forget that my whole routine has just changed too. Instead of one pick up I’m now managing one in nursery and one in school. I’m building up to next week when she’s in full time and I also have to feed her! It’s ridiculously intense and I just feel so lost when she’s like that because it’s not the girl I’ve known for the past 4 years. It’s good to hear we aren’t alone x@OIM So much love lady. September is SO HARD. The first weeks of September are just such a difficult few weeks for little people. My kids just struggle so much with the exhaustion of being back at school. The structure of having to do what they are told to do, and when, rather than just pleasing themselves in play. At nursery if she is tired she maybe does a quieter activity for a while. At school, if she is tired she still has to do XYZ when they have it laid out.
And it is so hard for adults dealing with that. I really struggle to keep my cool when they are just losing their damn mind all the time. But remember YOU are just back to work again, and YOU are tired as well. And (as I so often say on here) we are only human. We can only do our best, and sometimes we just run out of energy to be wonderful mummy. And yes, we do feel bad about it, because it’s not ideal. But we are all doing our best, and we only have so much to give x
Oh definitely not the only one! I think all parents of school age kids find the first weeks back tough. Plus then they inevitably get sick which just adds a whole new layer of awful on top!!Thank you. You’re right. I do forget that my whole routine has just changed too. My son started pre school last week ( it’s the same nursery he has been at since he was 2) and he’s already I’ll!!!!!!! snotty nose sneezing coughOh definitely not the only one! The good news is it happens every September 🫠🫠🫠 so even though my daughter is now in (the equivalent of) Year 5 she still becomes a monster at the start of September! But you get better at preempting it, and dealing with it. We do nothing at the weekends in September as my kids can’t handle it
Honestly September is such a write off between exhaustion and illness. My 6 and 3 yo both have the cold, and the baby has it so badly, he is miserable and he doesn’t even go anywhere (because we have so many school runs atm 🫠).My son started pre school last week ( it’s the same nursery he has been at since he was 2) and he’s already I’ll!!!!!!! snotty nose sneezing cough
All summer I was like can’t wait for September and now it’s here I have the regretsHonestly September is such a write off between exhaustion and illness. Mine is at pre school 5 days a week. We chose to do this as we felt it was better for him than being at home with Mil. My days off changes every week so we can’t really book the days he’s in cos it’s a school based nursery and man I miss him already. I’m so not ready for him to start school next year . He went to nursery three days a week last year so it’s a big change 🥹🥹Hope everyone who dreads September for various reasons are ok!!! I agree tho - this week I’ve had a new job start, I’ve felt unwell with a bad chest infection and the weather has been grim. My daughter had horrendous conjunctivitis that only went on Friday and it’s just been urgh!!!! This week looks better I’m going to dread her going to school, I’m so used to having Wednesday and Thursdays off with her
It is such a big change! Where we love all preschools are 5 days per week, attached to schools so basically once they start it really is them at school. My 3yo started this month and it’s such a big change without them at home. She’d always been no,e with me before this, so it’s a lot to miss her!Mine is at pre school 5 days a week. @WhatABore how is 4yo settling in to school?
That is brilliant news, and especially glad to hear she has made some friends, i k ow you were a bit concerned about that. She's loving it.
First day she was emotional going in.
Then when it came to coming home, could hear her crying her eyes out from the classroom because she didn't want to go home
Then every morning since, she's ran in.
She made 2 little friends on her first day, which considering she's not really socialised with other kids, I'm impressed. Now every day when we join the queue, they all do a little wave to each other.
Friday all she cared about was how many sleeps left to go to school again
Last week was until 12 and this week until 1 with lunch.
Must have wiped her out though as we went in the car after school and she was struggling to stay awake.
She's only ever fallen asleep once during the day in the past 3 and a half years! So she must be tired
Thank you for asking! Hope 3Me is settling a bit better at nursery now?
Hahaha he hasn’t had it in weeksat least the McDonald’s can finally stop!!
Lost count on how many McDonald’s my lot have had over summer 🫠at least the McDonald’s can finally stop!!
Ahh that's great! Big weight off your shoulders, I'm sure! That is brilliant news, and especially glad to hear she has made some friends, i k ow you were a bit concerned about that.
She is doing so well now, thanks. Last Tuesday she just flipped. I left her off miserable and when I picked her up she was happy, and been happy ever since! she is staying to 12 this week, and she really enjoyed it today which was great!
Could you possibly try putting her to bed earlier?Well not a peep all night but 5.30am she was awake🫠🫠🫠🫠 she came into my bed and then went back to sleep till 6ish… I’m shattered and my eyes sting! It didn’t help a photo came off the wall at 1am and woke me up and I was scared after that. Heating wasn’t on either but I’m gunna have to start putting it on as it was FREEZING!! Uh oh
