Could you possibly try putting her to bed earlier?
See how it goes?

A lot of the time, if they're over tired when going to bed, they wake up earlier
I’m gunna get her in bed for 7:30pm tonight, I’m exhausted!! She fell asleep literally soon as her head hit the pillow 🥹

Lost count on how many McDonald’s my lot have had over summer 🫠
Hahah it was just my mother in law was taking my son twice a week at one point! And it makes him sick 🤦🏼‍♀️

I second getting her to bed earlier. My three year old goes to bed between 630 and 7pm when he’s at nursery . Weekends in bed for 730. He doesn’t nap, he gets up between 630-7 most days. Worth a try earlier bed time!

Can anyone give me any advice on thumbsucking? I’ve tried everything , she is 3 and she just won’t stop. I asked her why and she says “it makes me sleepy, it makes me relaxed etc”. She tends to do it when tired and in her sleep.
She never had a dummy as a baby or sucked her thumb, it’s literally started since we found out we were having another baby. It’s been going on about a year now. But she never seems bothered by the new baby and loves him to bits and we always split our attention with her , she’s never said a bad word about him, she adores him!
Is this just something she will grow out of? She says another child at her childminder does it too but this child is much younger so could be copying. I’m worried that she will ruin her teeth in the long term. I’ve tried:
-talking to her
-showing her videos
-ignoring it
-the nasty tasting nail varnish stuff
-bribery lol
-a teething necklace
-other people talking to her about it
Any other ideas would be appreciated!

My daughter has thumbsucked since she was about 4 months. Still does it all the time at nearly 3, for comfort or when she's sleepy. It doesn't bother me in all honesty, but maybe it should? 😬

My husband sucked his thumb until he was 7, and he has annoyingly perfect teeth!

This is NOT the advice you need, but I stopped sucking my thumb at 23 when I nearly sliced it off while making dinner 😂
Nothing stopped me. My mum put all sorts of poison (not real poison) on my thumb. I even had my orthodontic treatment stopped because I wouldn’t wear my brace that I needed to move my teeth out before getting train tracks 🫠
I did have awful teeth. Very bugs bunny and narrow, but they didn’t bother me until my 20s when I eventually paid for orthodontic treatment 😭

Hi all, it seems to be working!! 7:30pm bedtime and she’s waking up about 6:45am😊 I think she’s getting into the routine of no nap now. She’s really tired by 7:15pm though. I really enjoyed yesterday - we were able to stay in the woods ALL afternoon and I didn’t have to worry about anything 😂 I’ve always been so worried over her naps and making sure she has one etc so it’s been nice to not have to think about it!!…we are off to CBeebies land today so I’m really excited for that. Hope everyone is well x

Are you concerned about his hearing? My 3 year old had hearing tests from 1ish twice a year. He had glue ear, but he grew out of it at the beginning of this year. I can’t remember why we were concerned and how we were referred, but his speech was very delayed, only just getting much better

Nursery have suggested it to rule it out due to speech delay. I’m personally not sure There’s anything wrong with his ears. But they want to check 😊

My boy could hear a packet of crisps being opened 🫠 he actually did fairly his newborn hearing in the hospital, and I have slight deafness in my family, so thinking now, I guess they just wanted to make sure…
Maybe speak to the health visitor. Although I couldn’t tell you who mine were 😂 has he had his 27 month review?

My HV is awful. Did it over the phone. I told her about his speech she said he needs more time. She’d ring me again in six weeks time. I didn’t hear anything. All my calls texts unanswered. Turns out she’s gone off on maternity 🙃

Hi everyone, just looking for advice from anyone who has been through similar.

My little boy is 2.5 and has been fully potty trained for 2 months now - he’s done amazing and I’m so proud of him, but there’s one issue - he will only go on the potty and not the toilet, he’s really scared of it.
At nursery today he had an accident as well as he couldn’t get to the potty on time, which I expected as this was his first day back since being potty trained but I’m nervous it’s going to make him regress.

Any advice on how to make him not scared of toilets will be much appreciated, haha!
My l/g is there same but she is 3. She point blank refuses to go on the toilet. They have mini toilets at school so thought she would be fine. She was not fine and on her first day wet her pants 5 time!!! Like shes probably had 10 accidents since she started potty training and 5 of these were on that day. The next day u took her potty and she was fine. Have you tried a toddler set insert? She uses one at home and nursery also have one.

1st week of no napping!!! SUCCESS 😎💖 looking forward to this when we go on hol. Today she’s been exhausted though!! Flat out for 7pm in my bed, she said “mummy stroke my face” and that’s when I knew she wanted to go to sleep. I swiftly moved her into her own bed as we don’t share a bed well together😂 before she dozed off I said I love you and she sleepily said it back🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 being a parent is the best (99.9% of the time)..!’

Typical 🙄
I took my eldest weekly for weigh-ins (because I was a young, new mum obsessed with seeing how she was getting on). My 8 month old hasn’t been weighed since newborn. Sorry to offend if anyone is a HV, but they are absolutely shockingly tit.
When I went for 3 yo 27month check up, we were in and out within 5 minutes. Was such a shame - sorry to mention my eldest again - but at her 27mth check, she was made to do puzzles, pretend play, building blocks. We were in there for an hour! Even my 6 year olds check up was much better. Not sure if it’s covid or what…
