Haven't watched the vlog but she really shouldn't have a blue badge if she is able to consistently walk a mile! What a joke.
She rambled on about its not all because of physical stuff. I zoned out of I'm honest. I do agree there's people that need a blue badge for reasons other than physicality. I doubt that's her reason though. And if it is then I would wonder since she seems to have no trouble socialising or bumping into strangers or anything else like that.

Im considering setting up a group therapy session for anyone that's ever seen that video. Together we can surely get through this, somehow, some day
I think it's a little bit like laughter therapy for me.

She could stand by the running machines and when anyone looks like they are ready to give up she can tell them to 'jog on'.
Ffs I've only just stopped laughing and now that's set me off again.

To get a blue badge in my area you need to be awarded 8 points for the mobility component of PIP or attend a walking assessment, anything other than not bring able to consistently and safely being able to walk a certain distance and you quite rightly aren't entitled to a badge. Mental health isn't taken into consideration at all and I imagine most areas would be the same. Might have a look at her areas requirements but I highly doubt they would have given her one unless she laid it on very thick at any assessment

My favourite part was when she said people won't talk to you because they will think you're exercising lol then realised what she said and said "well you are exercising " lol. Good for her though if she sticks at this but I think it's a fad, I've done the same myself

also confused as she said she is doin it to socialise then said it's great because people won't speak to you. Confused

she said today she's measured her walks and they're a mile. A mile, that's a long way when you're unwell. she also rambled on about her bloody badge again
Am sure Google maps will say different about the walk!

She's joined the gym to sit in the bloody sauna/steam room and hog the jacuzzi no doubt!

I think it would be the same across all areas maybe? She applied for her blue badge after her daughter said she should have one and she flippantly said oh I'll try but I doubt I will get it. then 2 hours later got accepted. Allegedly

That’s very strange! I get enhanced mobility on pip so am automatically entitled to my blue badge, but it stllltook 4 weeks!

When we say blue badge, are we talking about the car parking badge?

I have one. It was ridiculously easy to get, I was actually shocked how easy. Came within 4 weeks but I got the acceptance within a few days.

Edit; I’m not bragging, I do have a condition where I have had treatment and surgery for the past 7 months. I have put off the badge for nearly 10 years.

My hearts racing as I type, feels like I've got aero bubbles in my chest...
Ellie's away so she's needing an ego boost and her bear fam sympathy hug.
Ooh chronic illness, now listen to the expert that is Ms Wilkes. Bullshitter extraordinaire. Mother superior and judgemental witch.
Majority of us here do know what she's dealing with it. Fibromyalgia is not just a state of mind.
@It's me I bet you wish you could have just got up and deal with it!

And I'll just add fibromyalgia is often misdiagnosed and many lazy bastards fake it to get the benefits. Not all sufferers but a few JK characters do. Sad but that's life in benefits Britain.

It’s not easy everywhere, unfortunately. I have a 70 year old aunt in Essex that has terrible leg ulcers and struggles to walk, but has been turned down twice

What a steaming great pile of bullshit! ??

Does she forget we see her physical exertion every single bloody day!?
I think she realises she's been reported. Knows the vlogs are evidence. They would know the route and mileage so she's think oh tit for Disney. So started to moan about ailments after the holiday and how she struggled, then thought this isn't working so she's not vlogging daily. However has just announced she's going to the gym..I know a lot of people with disabilities go but it's also a place a lot are caught for benefit fraud too!

It's bloody pathetic..fibro is the new bad back and have said many times I have got a diagnosis for fibro due to having chronic fatigue. Which no you can't get up and push through that you have to sleep! The rheumatologist did exactly the same with my friend. On seeing another rheumatologist they don't think it is a it's osteoporosis along with her osteopenia!

Agreed on both points. I thought the same about google maps, as I have looked at it myself.

Is that what she said?

She can duck off with that attitude. I am all for using CBT to change your mindset but I was bed bound literally for two years in chronic pain on the highest strength morphine patches going. Which took the edge off. She really can duck off. Am disgusted.

My 'days out' which were complete struggles were hospital/GP appointments only. Oh and emergency trips to the hospital for controlled pain relief or anti sickness or rehydrating. She hasn't a bloody clue about chronic pain.

Oh and not only bed ridden inability to sleep due to pain, which has completely messed up my body clock.

Utterly vile.
@It's me I’ve been upset about her comment all evening and I thought it was just me. You’ve just summed up my life from the age of 16 to now (22) with some bearable patches where I didn’t have to be completely in bed in between. I’m not looking for a pity party, as no one with a chronic illness does, but being bedbound was not a state of mind or being ‘steamrolled by the illness’. After coming off a bad patch for the past 6 months where I didn’t see my downstairs for 3 months, she’s pissed me off. That’s it, I’m done with feeling sorry for her

This is why no one took on her book. She's not great with words. Well she's proved that we'll and truly not long ago

@Bubu if you haven't seen there is a snippet early on in this thread of Wilkes at her worst. However not her fault it's because she was in the police, her age, taking the piss out of herself...excuses after excuses. We all say wrong words but not in that context, just casually driving along!
