There may be a couple of reasons: First, Tim's family would most likely look down on them for accepting money that way and not earning it. And second, Tim wants to be "the man who takes care of the family" with no help.

Paetron was created in support of artists. Tim is nothing of the such, although there are Disney vloggers out there who are (Justin Scarred, Mr CheezyPop, etc)

They actually have used Patreon and Superchats in the past. It was at the Sanford house and before - he begged for money so he could go to Playlist Live, another time they begged for money for this expensive blow up chair for the pool, then the infamous termite infestation. The last superchat was after they had moved to the McMansion if I remember correctly - they got called out for saying "they didn't know how to turn it off". #lyingsackofcraptrackers

Right there. That speaks volumes about the type of people Tim and Jenn are.
Not savers, not planners, no idea how to use money wisely, and wasteful.
Seriously though, to beg for other people's money so you can fart it away on an inflatable chair that will eventually pop anyway?

The Playlist Live beg was very early on in their vlogging, the chair after they moved to that shithole house in Sanford, along with the termite begging, both a while ago and would take a lot of searching. The "we don't know how to turn off superchat" live chat I did a quick look for and couldn't find it. Sorry, it would take a lot of time to find them all - if they haven't deleted them.

You don't even have to create tiers. You can just open up a Patreon account and do nothing but collect money like Best Life and Beyond (BLAB) does. They compare it to a tip jar and have over 100 Patreons, but haven't posted or updated anything on there in a couple of years. I really don't understand that at all. There is absolutely zero effort. At least do something but I guess if people will pay you for no effort, why bother (in their minds)

I also remember the Playlist Live stupid crap he tried to pull. I remember the "we don't know how to turn off superchat" bull too right after they moved into the $450K house in Nona.

For all the money they piss away these days on umpteen staycations, stupid purchases, etc., they better never do patreon or superchats (again). I think they may end up losing any of the still-sane-yet-slightly-obsessed stans they have and be left with simply the nutjobs (akin to the mom and son who tracked them down on AMI), and that's a route I'm not sure they want to take.

I feel like she has to have known she's needed braces long before this and just wanted to steal some of Dim's hernia thunder, right? Like even if her mom didn't take her to the dentist as a kid, any dentist any time during any of her adulthood would have been able to tell her she could use some braces.

She knew, it's all part of her act.
Also, dentists don't usually diagnose a need for braces. They'll tell you to see an orthodontist, but it's up to that doctor to tell the patient they need them and what they can do. Did she see a dentist or an orthodontist? Is she making an assumption she's a candidate for invisalign braces?

Right, generally dentists can tell you you need braces (anyone looking at Ginn's teeth from a few yards away could tell), but then will recommend that you go see an orthodontist depending on the severity of your teeth (although dentists can manage a patient's Invisalign treatment as it's viewed as a less severe orthodontic treatment - my dentist has recommended Invisialign to me and I wouldn't have to go to a separate orthodontist if I ever decide to throw $$ at that option as she's trained in the treatment of it). She did say she needs to go see an orthodontist next.

I mean, Jenn has a history of not seeing the same appearance we all see. Hasn't she seen she looks terrible with her greasy pony tails? Broken out skin? Uneven and wrongly colored eyebrows? Horrible taste in unflattering clothing. Sure, she maybe thought braces could make her teeth better, but not sure I would assume she has always known she desperately needed them. She is a narcissist who thinks she looks amazing most of the time. They even read a stan comment saying Jenn's teeth were awesome. 🙄
