There's way more to it than that. It's a way for women to bond by mimicking nature sounds and responding. They did it for entertainment while men were away hunting food.
This isn't the Inuit thread, I know, I just find it crass when people mock traditions.

Charles and Camilla were criticised for it by the media at the time and maybe it was worse because they weren’t ’some random’ but invited guests of honour.

From this pleb’s viewpoint though it was an insight into all the unhappiness that could have been avoided had Charles been encouraged to marry the woman he loved at the beginning.

Yeah they are pretty reliable, unlike other blind/gossip sites.
Popbitch is a fountain truth compared to the blind sites where almost all is made up. With the odd true thingn to give it credibility. The 1 truth out of 50 is usually recycled from elsewhere or a educated guess that turns out to be true.

Just saw a link on the other thread, American tabloids reporting that Charles has 2 years to live.
That was published over a week ago claiming he had pancreatic cancer and 2 years. Nothing to substantiate it.

From a rag and better to not link it!

If you have pancreatic cancer your time is over 6 months, if you're lucky. It's the worst cancer.

Sounds like US tabloid nonsense (remember Meghan saying we Americans didn't have tabloids or tabloid culture?! ha).

@MaineCoonMama I beg to differ in so far, as I think that Charles would be a good sport about being made fun about the Coronation.

Holding up traditions and being able to see the quirkiness in them is something I admire the UK for (obvs that’s a generalisation). It’s something my own country is very bad at. Self deprecation humour and wittiness going hand in hand with being moved by outdated things, preserving history while seeing the good and bad, but also being a little bit patriotic is a charming mixture.
There are so many quirks (or things I experience as such because I was socialised differently- so maybe I am the quirky one) but I can’t help but love them. I mean- cryptic crosswords. I am still half convinced they just fill in one word and make up the rest to fit and then craft some crazy explanation why their solution fits the clue

re: the P.Diddy stuff. I am sorry for H. Diddy name dropping him for rep is the only reason his name is dragged around at this point. And of course the tabloids run with it. That’s the downside of being a royal.

In most things I’d agree with you but the coronation is a deeply symbolic holy occasion for the royal family that they take very seriously.

I think we need an eye roll emoji

I agree most people with this terrible cancer die within months of having it diagnosed.

My friend had it but got the wipple (sp?) procedure and got another two years before it came back and killed him.

Neighbour had the same procedure for it and is alive 20 years later, but he’s in the tiny minority.

Maybe a better example is to compare it to something like Morris Dancing which has been around since the 15th century ... people laugh at that all the time.

This is hilarious.

I was catching up on the thread sometime in the early hours and, OMG, the 'art' and subsequent comments, had me laughing my head off. I feel sorry for poor old Paddington these days!

All that said, I hope that both Charles and Catherine make a full recovery.

I think everyone is saying it's pancreatic cancer because that's seen as the most dire, dramatic cancer to have. There is no substantiated source at all. Forgein press were also reporting that Kate was in a coma and/or had left William.

My algorithm has now picked up the royal art I have been screenshotting and sharing here and with friends…I am stuck in a Paddington doom scroll

My algorithm has moved on from TRF ... I'm onto the conspiracy/AI regarding the Biden/Obama meet up. The internet is truly a bonkers place.

Yeah, this. People get roasted for saying anything against the royal family but actually it was really fucking rude to turn up to a sacred cultural display and openly mock it. It’s actually pretty foul behaviour.

The same rag is reporting that his funeral is already arranged.

It's been arranged for decades and will have been updated when he became King - Operation Menai Bridge. How long was London Bridge organised for QE before it was finally needed? Tay Bridge was for QEQM but they used it for Diana too as it had been practiced and QEQM wasn't showing any signs of dropping off the perch any time soon. There will also be a plan for William and Kate's funerals. Harry and Meghan will probably get a service at St George's and a lair in the Royal Burial Ground at Windsor, alongside the Kents, Gloucesters, and Windsors.

Exactly. His obituary will also have already been made by all the media organisations, as it has been for a few decades like they do for everyone.

But it gets the clicks and shares so they carry on doing it.
