There's way more to it than that. It's a way for women to bond by mimicking nature sounds and responding. They did it for entertainment while men were away hunting food.I understood, it was somehow a contest, which one of the women starts to laugh first, therefore the intense eye contact, and the laughter of one of them at the end. That’s what people said in the comments under the YouTube-video. I was shocked first as well, but if that claim is true, it’s ok.
Charles and Camilla were criticised for it by the media at the time and maybe it was worse because they weren’t ’some random’ but invited guests of honour. Not trying to be a wet blanket but it's not cool to laugh at thousands of years of cultural story telling.
They're Inuit people with a fascinating history and it's no weirder than a guy being nailed to a cross and magically coming back to life.
I bet Charles would be pissed off if some random turned up and mocked his Coronation.
In my opinion.
Popbitch is a fountain truth compared to the blind sites where almost all is made up. With the odd true thingn to give it credibility. The 1 truth out of 50 is usually recycled from elsewhere or a educated guess that turns out to be true.Yeah they are pretty reliable, unlike other blind/gossip sites.
That was published over a week ago claiming he had pancreatic cancer and 2 years. Nothing to substantiate it.Just saw a link on the other thread, American tabloids reporting that Charles has 2 years to live.
In most things I’d agree with you but the coronation is a deeply symbolic holy occasion for the royal family that they take very seriously.@MaineCoonMama I beg to differ in so far, as I think that Charles would be a good sport about being made fun about the Coronation.
Holding up traditions and being able to see the quirkiness in them is something I admire the UK for (obvs that’s a generalisation). It’s something my own country is very bad at. Self deprecation humour and wittiness going hand in hand with being moved by outdated things, preserving history while seeing the good and bad, but also being a little bit patriotic is a charming mixture.
I think we need an eye roll emojiJust saw a link on the other thread, American tabloids reporting that Charles has 2 years to live.
I agree most people with this terrible cancer die within months of having it diagnosed. If you have pancreatic cancer your time is over 6 months, if you're lucky. It's the worst cancer.
Sounds like US tabloid nonsense (remember Meghan saying we Americans didn't have tabloids or tabloid culture?! ha).
Maybe a better example is to compare it to something like Morris Dancing which has been around since the 15th century ... people laugh at that all the time. There's way more to it than that. It's a way for women to bond by mimicking nature sounds and responding. They did it for entertainment while men were away hunting food.
This isn't the Inuit thread, I know, I just find it crass when people mock traditions.
This is hilarious.I’ve been trying not to laugh at these artworks, maybe they mean well and really tried.
But that one sent me over the edge. It’s just so hilariously chaotic.
I really can’t tell if it’s meant to be serious because it has the same energy as
this one!

I think everyone is saying it's pancreatic cancer because that's seen as the most dire, dramatic cancer to have. There is no substantiated source at all. Forgein press were also reporting that Kate was in a coma and/or had left William. That was published over a week ago claiming he had pancreatic cancer and 2 years. Nothing to substantiate it.

Even the drawings can’t let him forget about those fingers
My algorithm has moved on from TRF ... I'm onto the conspiracy/AI regarding the Biden/Obama meet up. The internet is truly a bonkers place. My algorithm has now picked up the royal art I have been screenshotting and sharing here and with friends…I am stuck in a Paddington doom scroll
Yeah, this. People get roasted for saying anything against the royal family but actually it was really fucking rude to turn up to a sacred cultural display and openly mock it. It’s actually pretty foul behaviour. Not trying to be a wet blanket but it's not cool to laugh at thousands of years of cultural story telling.

The same rag is reporting that his funeral is already arranged. That was published over a week ago claiming he had pancreatic cancer and 2 years. Nothing to substantiate it.

Exactly. His obituary will also have already been made by all the media organisations, as it has been for a few decades like they do for everyone. It's been arranged for decades and will have been updated when he became King
