I thought Catherine was going to be named as the original person who made the comments from the way in which the book was being publicised before it was published. It was just so negative about her.Interesting. I thought it would be Camilla as part of the same conversation with Charles. But Omind does hate Catherine
to be fair, the royal family as an institution is… pretty racist.Tbh when they said there was concern I always took it as concern for his safety and protection from racism. Charles isn’t stupid and has worked with ethnic minorities most of his life, he knows the challenges and abuse they face daily and wouldn’t want that for his grandson. Meghan can’t be oblivious to colourism considering she’s mentioned she didn’t get treated like a black woman until she joined the royal family. If Archie had been born with darker skin it’s opening him up to a world of racism and daily unconscious bias that no parent or grandparent would want. Having the conversation of I’m worried and concerned that the darker his skin the more racism he will face, how do we handle this as a family and protect the baby from that should the situation arise, seems sensible for a family as global as they are.
I can’t see Charles being purposefully prejudice and racist when you look at the history of his work. Despite Harry thinking that simply marrying Meghan was enough to absolve him of his own racist past he’s never taken full accountability for it and will never be able to achieve the impact and change Charles has achieved for ethic minority youths with The Prices Trust.
THANK YOU! That is exactly what I thought might have happened. If anything this conversation is actually the one that definitely should have happened. There most definitely was a lot of ugly racism in some parts of the internet around M. So realising that this also could be true for their baby and talking about a strategy should have been a priority. No parent should read shit like that about their child and no child should be subjected to it. Ever.Tbh when they said there was concern I always took it as concern for his safety and protection from racism. Charles isn’t stupid and has worked with ethnic minorities most of his life, he knows the challenges and abuse they face daily and wouldn’t want that for his grandson. The problem is: Archie won’t see that. Archie and Lili will have had (hopefully) loving parents and will have grown up with their side of events. They will never ‘see’ the other sideWhat a nasty pair they are. Imagine how Archie will feel when he's old enough to understand how he's been used as a tool to create division and bitterness. He's done nothing wrong and shouldn't be treated as a target for alleged racism.
That pic you posted, Scobie clearly likes a bit of whitening cream too. Who is he? Whats his background? I smell a rat. If there are 'dark forces' who would love to bring the BRF down I imagine it could be pretty easy to gain the confidence of H&M if one was directed to do so, especially with their IQ's as they are.not had any work done eh? hmmmm!
He's had more work done than i've had hot dinners!
So you know every single friend that they all have?to be fair, the royal family as an institution is… pretty racist.
they don’t champion diversity in the royal households. Every single private secretary of the Queen’s and Charles have been upper middle class/aristocratic, white and male. I can’t think of a single private secretary for any of them that has been an ethnic minority, and I can only think of one woman (Camilla’s private sec).
Charles’ close friends are exclusively white. None of the royal family are friends with racial minorities, or people from a working class background. Not even Harry.
the history of the royal family itself is based on the fact that, by birth, they are better than everyone. And the royal family were the poster child for colonialism. Whose picture was put up in colonial offices around the world? The monarch’s.
so I’d disagree that Charles has worked with ethnic minorities all his life.
turning up to an event, when the red carpet has been rolled out for you and racial minorities are present - is not the same as working with them. Having a charity in your name or patronised by you, isn’t the same as working with racial minorities.
I think Meghan mark is conscious of all of the above and has definitely weaponised it against Charles et Al.
in hindsight, you have to wonder why she mentioned it to Oprah. It’s like they created the scandal to hold over Charles, maybe for money? As a USP to hype up future book sales? With the threat they’d reveal his name for their personal benefit.
I don’t know what was supposed to have been said, but if Charles had made an insensitive comment about the colour of Archie’s skin, then surely a response along the lines of “I just wanted to let you know that that comment was hurtful to me, and felt racist” in private, was more appropriate?
Repeated, conscious, racist behaviour is surely of interest to the general public, but a one-off gaff that you don’t think is racist (according to Harry) is hardly worth mentioning when you know how inflammatory it is? When it’s a close family member who deserves the benefit of the doubt in this instance? When the comment could equally have been as innocent as it could have been sinister?
if Harry and Meghan were truly concerned about racist behaviour in the royal family - why wouldn’t they highlight the lack of diversity in senior positions in royal households? Because they don’t care about racism. Not really. They care about themselves and their personal experiences, not wider issues.
Being a racist is not as black and white (sorry…) I‘m afraid. I’m sure, few people would say about themselves „I‘m a racist.“ But racist expressions or behaviour can easily happen to all of us. So King Charles maybe is not a racist, but especially with his age and class background, I can very much imagine him saying racist things.Charles is no racist. If (big if) he said something which offended the professional victim MM, he recognised it and apologised. Where’s the story?
There probably isn't an official moratorium … it will be a gentleman’s agreement/not wanting to get dumped from the official rota. Are the names not allowed to be published in the UK? I think it’s pretty silly that, in this day and age, stories like this relating to the royal family are censored for UK audiences.
So much they say is nonsense and they’ve backtracked on this subject that it’s not silly if it isn’t true. Are the names not allowed to be published in the UK? I think it’s pretty silly that, in this day and age, stories like this relating to the royal family are censored for UK audiences.
I agree, I also noticed that when the black preacher was taking part in Harry and Meghan's service the Royals looked uncomfortable and Eugenie and Beatrice exchanged eye rolling. If they were present at some wedding in the Caribbean or in a black gospel Church in Britain they would been okay but as part of THEIR wedding it wasn't. And yes they are very elitist. I recall working with someone who was desperate to get a job at Buckingham Palace. She was middle class, well spoken and had attended a grammar school but she didn't even get an interview, she had a lot of experience of working in Members of Parliament's offices and was very good and efficient, but from the wrong background, not their kind of gel obviously. Maybe things will change gradually eg Prince Edward's daughter does work in a garden centre in the holidays I gather, that will bring her closer to ordinary people from various backgrounds but even when they DO work most of the Royals work in prestigous art galleries etc.to be fair, the royal family as an institution is… pretty racist.

Yes he did have a crush on Sheila Ferguson of 3 degrees and his circles it would be okay to have an affair or one nighter with her but for her to be Queen NO NEVER!!!So you know every single friend that they all have?
Also I think in the past the "top" roles in their team required very specific knowledge of the etiquette, history etc of the role of Monarch. Who is likely to have that knowledge? People who have grown up in similar families or been to school in those idiot highly selective schools. I'm not excusing the pale, male, stale recruitment but it does explain why historically I imagine it has happened.
Charles once famously had a crush on one of the 3 Degrees, a person of mixed race I believe. The Price's Trust has also supported thousands of disadvantages people from all backgrounds, races and cultures. He also wanted (though was thwarted) of being known as "Defender of Faiths" didn't he?
I'm not his fan, I find him petty, petulant and pointless, but racist? Nope I don't think so.
It’s now The King’s TrustIs the Prince’s Trust still operating now Charles is King?
I'd bet my house it's along these lines.Part of me would love it to come out that this all started over a careless statement like “I wonder if he’ll have more of his Mum’s or Dad’s colouring.” The idea that an older person used words that can be misconstrued and it became international news would just be so in line with royal gossip.
It’s because it’s unproven and therefore slander. Any respectable news source that published it would most likely to subjected to a defamation case. Nothing to do with censoring a UK audience and all to do with our slander laws being way more rigid than other countries. Are the names not allowed to be published in the UK? I think it’s pretty silly that, in this day and age, stories like this relating to the royal family are censored for UK audiences.
