A Special Surprise Day For Isla!!
Lazy and Isla are excited. It’s 10am and they’re off for a mummy daughter day. Isla squeals with excitement. They’re wearing matching angel jumpers because Isla requested it. They have grapes for breakfast. Driving.
Isla has been counting down the minutes to get to the destination. It looks busy but it’s only them two. Isla can see a ride and Lazy squeals that she’s giving everyone clues. They park right at the far end of the car park. They’re ready for a fun day at Gullivers Valley. Isla is excited to do the rides, soft play and see Santa.
Isla is measured and found to be 142cm. She originally wanted to go to Xscape because of the climbing wall but there is a climbing wall here too. They looked online at all the options and Isla chose this. They decide to do the outdoor rides whilst it’s not raining. First stop is the pirate boat.
Lazy says the rides feel faster and higher when you’re on it. Next they head for the barrels. Spinning it is harder than it looks. Then they head for the Dinosaur Land. They gain a child on the first ride because the mum didn’t like spinny rides so Lazy volunteered to take the child on.
No way in hell I’d trust her with my child. They head for “Gyrosaurus”, where there is no queue. There has been no queue for anything so far today. They get to stay on until Isla asks to get off.
Lazy is anxious about getting wet on T-Rex Tower so needs some reassurance from Isla. Lazy says it looks terrifying and screams on the way down. Rollercoasters are fine but water rides freak her out. Isla goes on the next ride alone. She cackles at Isla struggling to get the dinghy back onto the conveyor. It’s starting to rain so they go and look at the snakes. They struggle to find a gecko but it’s massive and right in front of them on the glass. They’re queueing for Jurassic Jeeps. Lazy cackles that one looks like Creepstopher.
The rain is coming down so they’ve come inside. First up is the Monster House, which reminds Lazy of Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Paris. Jace would love it in there as he loves scary things. Lazy says it needs music to add atmosphere.
Isla asks Lazy what she wants to do next. They head to the climbing wall. Isla heads into the cave and takes the camera as it’s one person at a time. She is scared. It gets to a tunnel where you have to climb down and she gets scared so heads back to take her coat off.
Isla gets a hot chocolate and Lazy gets a latte. They have cheese and onion paninis coming. Lazy asked for a menu but was told they only do toasters and paninis. They see three people walk past with massive pizzas. The lady told them you get the pizzas from next door. It doesn’t matter now though as they have crisps coming with the paninis. The Black Forest hot chocolate is not on the menu so Lazy got a latte. They sat down and there is a poster advertising the Black Forest hot chocolate right next to them. She might get it for the journey home. They eat the paninis and don’t regret it. It’s 2pm. Isla is cold but they have been cuddling and chatting. They’re off on a rollercoaster, then to the bumper cars, Snowshow at 3:30pm, Santa at 4:15pm, climbing wall and soft play.
Isla wanted to come to GW for the Grand Prix coaster but it isn’t working. Lazy says she took it like a pro, not that she would expect her to jump on the floor in a tantrum. Lazy has never been on that coaster. There are a lot of dads on the dodgems. There are so many chuldren Isla’s age with their dads driving. She tells Isla she better not crash. She tells Isla the car is a bit cramped. On the way out a breathless Lazy says it was terrifying with Isla driving.
Time for the Wkid Wild West area now. They have found a mine train. They get on the back. It’s freezing and raining, really wintry. It’s bumpy at the back. They get to go around twice. Screeching from Lazy. The area with the big mine train is shut off.
Soft play time now. Lazy tells Isla to get in jail. She says Jace would love this as he loves jail.
That’s good news for the future then. Creepstopher will be pleased to have one regular visitor. Lazy and Isla dance to warm up. Lazy heads into the pretend sweet shop and asks Isla for soda. She keeps telling her she gave her the wrong one and then storms out.
Next up is the Dumbo Elephant ride because Lazy feels sorry for it as no one is on it. Does anybody else have guilt when someone offers them something but you don’t want it. They got off the ride, the guy asked if they wanted to go on again, they said no and felt guilty. Lazy wants to go on the carousel and Isla wants to on the Gyrosaur. They have a pit stop at the water ride. Lazy hopes she doesn’t get wet.
Time for the snowshow. Isla watches characters dancing. Lazy films herself and Isla with fake snow in their hair. Time for the carousel.
After some fun outside and buying candy, including a lollypop for Jace, they’ve come inside for the winter wonderland. Lazy says it’s so cute, sweet and adorable. She’s excited for Christmas. Lazy cackles at one of the actors doing his performance. They went into the room with another family as they assumed they were with the family ahead. They find their reindeer names. Then they head to the shop for a present. Lazy points out what Jace would choose if he were there.
Jace Jace Jace, always about bloody Jace. Barely any mention of Mila, Esme or Isabelle so far. Isla chooses an excavation set.
Isla is happy as she runs off to the soft play. Lazy is still banging on about that other family on the winter wonderland. As Isla goes on the bouncy castle, Lazy queues for her to go on the climbing wall. They’ve never been able to do it as it’s always busy. Time Lapse of Isla on the wall. Lazy doesn’t know how she still has energy. Isla drinks a Dr Pepper. She asks to do the mini golf. Lazy says she’ll win.
Back in the car no one knows who won at golf. Lazy says it was probably a draw. They have been naughty with the shopping, buying a toxic waste, gummy snake each for Jace and Isla, gummy brains for Lazy, sours for Creepstopher, crisps from lunch, brain licker for Esme and Isla’s sleepover, a pez for Isla and some souvenir gonks for the Christmas tree to remember the special day.
They will try the toxic waste before ending the vlog. They got a hot chocolate as well. Lazy has the black cherry. She tells Isla to try not to spit it out.
Creepstopher asked Lazy to pick Isabelle up from the train station. They call to the Co-op for tea bags. They get Isabelle and tell her to jump in. She had a good day. Isla tells her about her day. Lazy cannot wait to squish Esme, Jace and Mila. Isla says it has been the best day of her while life. Lazy says it was nice to spend one on one time without changing bums or worrying about anyone else.
Clip of Lazy screeching at Mila, who is in a matching outfit to Jace, and has a kitkat in hand. Jace ran to the door to greet them and Mila was running behind saying “hi hi”. Jace is walking behind Mila with a snappy snake thing. Lazy asks if he’s being a cutie and he screeches “yeah” before chasing after Mila again.
