The claggy nasal voice is super off putting for adverts. That book looks lovely but I find it ironic that when she wants to make some money she promotes £20 kids books but when she buys her own kids books she gets them from the charity shop. She’s very conflicting

Why would anyone even want to go out dressed like that?? Just Alex, going to make a point today - let’s throw on a polo neck, now add a random dress, need a pair of leggings, oops, forgot to add a sleeveless jumper. Anything else - gloves, bag, boots and balaclava. That’s me dressed - meets the brief of unflattering. And I’ve a portion of the 12 portion Christmas Mac cheese for dinner today. Well done me. That‘ll show them.

I just don’t know how she’s not embarrassed to be asking her (admittedly minted!) pensioner parents for Instagrammable bedding? And broadcasting it to her audience too - like that’s not a savvy frugality hack it’s a huge privilege!

Lots of creators on tiktok in the personal finance sphere talking about legit ways to budget for Christmas that involve sinking funds & genuinely nice DIYs with the kids, can’t wait to endure the 6th recycling of the toxic waste candles 🫠

I will never understand why she hires nice dresses to swan around in the house (how frugal!) yet wears the most dreadful outfits to “work” events.

I agree, and I think it borders on performative the other way when these more “woke” influencers immediately start shouting about it and criticising others. We get it, you’re more informed than anyone else

I don’t think that’s what Africa is saying- she is calling out the influencers that use their voices for certain causes but stay silent on others or post something perfunctory to tick box. I have been the most educated about this crisis by influencers of colour screaming about the injustice and the white women have been mostly silent and that is very telling.

She’s not wearing it for 5 days. Alex has spent less than an hour filming 5 outfits, which has given her 5 days of ‘content’.

A better influencer would have thought through wearing a base layer for this, and the comments. I don’t think Alex cares tbh

Assumed the littlun was naked due to either an accident or sickness…. I may be projecting as I’ve had a poorly kiddo and eeeeverything has needed washing non stop since he got some bug.

But I wouldn’t dream of him socialising in that state tho - we’ve basically been in lockdown since he got ill.

And she's messed up the sofa already. That was well worth it.

The thing is, when you have back up parents and back up “savings”, it doesn’t really matter if you wreck nice stuff because you can just buy again.

The whole concept of a nice, expensive coat is lost on her because she has so many.

(I also don’t believe for one second those cushions weren’t refilled. She claims they came back from the reupholsterers like that and having them recovered, replumped them. Whatever Alex. Whatever.)

Hasn’t she just copied and pasted the same message a whole bunch of her ‘class’ of instgrammers re: Palestine tho? I’ve seen the exact same message from the Otto house, emmaJanePalin, etc - ‘with thanks to’ Medina Grillodesigns ‘for sharing’ (letting every white influencer copy whilst yet another woman of colour does the actual work… snore)

So yeah. I wouldn’t read anything into this very low level bit of performative nontivism

Back in the day she was very relatable and had an eye for fashion styling but that ship has long set sail. I’ve said it before. Alex is clearly bored now with fashion, clothes and styling - she is just not interested but unfortunately for her, it’s what she needs to do to generate an income so she has to play at it in a I don’t care what or how I wear it sort of approach but you know, I’m still the expert at it all, I’m cool, I’m unique, I’m edgy.
