Same old story with these travel YouTubers it seems - stop travelling in the van, buy a property to fix up then realise how much work it actually is and struggle. Also I think they realise travel videos do better so then they're taking trips to film content in the middle of trying to renovate.

I was enjoying the renovation content to start with but it was clear they were doing too much and I get the feeling when Eric got injured that time, it shook them up a bit. Fair play to them trying to do the majority themselves though!

I will give EA credit they do work, and at least truly attempt to get stuff accomplished. They’re friends with Travel Beans, but the Beans are just a pair of increasingly whiny slackers.
I think the reno was a lot more work than they expected for the scope of it and they are slipping into middle aged territory. Eric’s accident(s) I think really shook them and put them off their game.
I have had my fill of the Faroe Islands. I just don’t think the novelty of the place translates all that well over YouTube especially for multiple uploads.
They greatly underestimate how long tasks will take them. They continually have to return to the building supplies store because they either didn't buy enough of something or they made so many mistakes they used up what they bought and don't have enough to finish. They don't want to rent a piece of equipment by the week because it costs too much, so they rent by the day and end up needing to keep it for a full week anyway.
There's a reason why it's a good idea to hire experienced contractors. But they bumble along and seem to get frustrated when their progress is much slower than they expected. So they return to travel to make money, but then their progress stops while they're away.
At the rate they're going it'll take them five years to finish the "tiny house".

It seems clear to me they are over budget and that’s is probably why the rent daily and buy “just enough” to do the job. It just isn’t enough so they buy more paint or whatever anyway.
I agree contractors know how to get things done, but I do appreciate them tackling it themselves to a degree.
i think they are tiring of constant travel but the do it yourself job is probably worse.
Eric needs to ditch the Rasputin look. I am not sure what his intentions with appearing gaunt long hair and facial hair, but it is not great. He falls into category of vloggers who look like they need a three episode arch with Gregory House, MD to get well again.

I don't think things are going well. I think they are burned out with videos and Eric's spiraling into depression. Things might not be good with Alison either. When her mother died he pretty much kept the camera rolling and she wasn't happy about it.
The latest cruise ship one is embarrassing. Everyone seems drunk and slurring their speech. Alex is doing cringey dance moves (and I wouldn't be surprised if he had some company during the cruise). Allison gets an weird tattoo at the ship (what a great idea, NOT) and then spends the night sweaty dancing away with that weird tat looking all blurry. I honestly wonder if all these people have a drinking problem. They all look like they could use a few months at a rehab centre. Oh, and I could do without all that "aw baby, show us" drooling from Eric and extensive shots of bikini-clad Allison shaking her booty.
I don’t have a problem with any of it, but it sure isn’t great vlog material. They could have actually done whatever, but edited a tight one upload of the whole trip leaving the cringe out.
I just don’t think they care and/or are burned out. They can make a rather slick travel vlog when they want to so. They just don’t anymore.
Yeah, there's rumours Emma's had a bit on the side too so it wouldn't surprise me about Alex.

The Mexican treehouse luxury whatever it was in Tulum looked like a huge trap for wealthy eco chumps.
Besides that my wife and i are starting to wonder if they really would dip their toe into the OF space or some similar. They keep bringing it up as a joke, but it is still brought up more and more. Are they getting that needy for pops of cash? Are they getting bored together? Just getting a touch weird.

Conveniently, there's a nudist beach right next to it. My suspicions were confirmed in the comments where someone says they know people in the business who stayed there... It looks seedy and filthy. The tub indoors is just 
and all the furniture looks like it was designed for one purpose only. I mean, wasn't there a swing above the bath tub too...? I wouldn't want to bathe in a tub that looks like you could catch a venereal disease and get pregnant by just sitting in it. Doubt the room has been sanitised in ages. And then Eric being unable to sleep having to listen to the upstairs guy "pounding" *not specified*... 
It was nerve-wrecking to see them jumping on that safety net thing which honestly looked like it was not meant to be walked on. All those YouTubers lying on the net on roof top all trusting that it's strong enough while I could see headlines like "dozens of social media influencers fall to their deaths when a safety net fails in Mexico". Btw, is it safe for them to be in Mexico right now...?
I wonder what the heck is up with their Texas property? I am not sure if they are quietly selling it, or maybe they have hired skilled workers to do the bulk of the work or what. I just have a gut feeling something is off. Not sure.

It's my belief that the tolls of their personal trauma are now being collected. Eric seems to be someone who tinkers with his diet while Alison eats what she wants and works it off in the mornings.
