With $30000 dollar per month from youtube and patreon you should hire a contractor who knows what he is doing.

As a retired Firefighter...I had studied extensively about the conditions of a Hot Fire on structures..within your videos of this Château I've seen Flaling a term for a 2000°+ fire that bends I beams. And I've seen much of the result of Spalding whereas some of your stone walls have crumbled to high heat..turning the concrete to dust..

Ugh that's true... wow. Those walls are way too crumbly. It doesn't even seem they're held together with mortar only sand.

As an experienced stone mason, I agree with most of the comments. I am surprised the tops are still standing, you need to carefully pull all off and replace it before you think about a roof structure. Putting that lifter under it was a big mistake as you are aware. Lots of work and expense, good luck with it all, do it carefully and methodically and you shouldn't have too many dramas.

I've rebuilt 200 years old homes and this man is only winging it... he puts no padstones in for steels on other parts.. the top of the building is fire damaged and weathered from the elements.. it needs to be took down to the solid walls rebuilt and a ring beam be put around the whole building.. get some proper trade's men in for a bit... building with stones is not easy.. and even the aluminium towers are dangerous they are only for doing light work on

Are the dogs not on the ground outside while you were throwing the rocks out?
---
Some of the comments are really getting stuck into him.

I think Dan could be living onsite . . . only because his hair is always greasy now and he has also started wearing a cap to cover it up.
If the walls if the crispy chateau fall down, will they crush the yurt?

The dogs should not be on a dangerous construction site, one falling rock could seriously injure or kill one ofbthe puppies. Dan is reckless with the puppies. He got them for video content.

Those walls at the top are in a terrible condition, YOU CAN NOT just replace displaced stones, the mortar has turned to sand from the effects of the fire and many years of exposure to the elements. The top rows of stonework need to be completely removed and re-built from a level that still has integrity and strength. Please do not even consider putting a roof on walls that are so unstable and rotten, you will end up seriously regretting it. Yes, it will cost more, but you will have a building with strength and integrity that will be something to be proud of.

he wants a roof for the winter and that's all he cares about. it's raking in $13k/mo from patreon so he could afford it if he wanted to. but there's no way I'd set foot in that building knowing how he likes to cut corners for stabilizing walls and foundation.

@lornadesmarais-zo4pr I honestly don't think he understand the immense strain placed on those walls, the fact that many areas are just being held together by gravity, and that the weight of roof and a bit of wind would probably destroy the entire site.

My mason husband is sitting here watching you and having a pure fit! You are lucky you did not get hurt . . . and when you address the masonry work, you need to keep the puppies out of the area below. Anyway, my husband has been saying for some time, (as he has viewed the area in which you are now working,) that you need to take all that masonry down from the top ledge to where it is solid . . . the mortar is obviously all powdered out. Yes, my husband says you should take down that masonry along those walls, (I think where you said the roof trusses would sit/rest,) build it back up to be solid, and then proceed from there. If that arch angle iron was crooked, you just should not have tried to jack it up . . . you should have taken that wall down to where the arch should be. Yes, it is going to be a lot of masonry work and rebuilding; but, if you want your chateau to be solid, that's what you need to do. Good luck, Dan. I cannot believe that you have taken on this project . . . you must be super nuts, but in a good way due to your ambition and hard work ethic.

As a woman and patron who does not think he’s a prince, I’m canceling my contribution and flipping it to someone who has more than two two brain cells. He does not interact with either his subscribers or his patrons. I think he’s doing this for pure entertainment and really doesn’t care if he’s doing it right or safely. Frankly his unwillingness to share is plans if there are any has put me off this project.

I have said right from the begining that the walls will not support a roof. Dan is making a very dangerous situation all the more dangerous by not communicating with his followers, not taking their advice and thinking he'll be fine. He won't be. He thinks he knows better. I've also said from the start that his mortar mix is the wrong consistency. It's to weak. Eventually it won't hold up a feather, let alone a roof. Today's vlog validates everything I've ever said about his substandard and shoddy work practices. This man is going to come a cropper, and it won't be pretty.

Dan has a very flippant, entitled, arrogant, dismissive disrespectful attitude towards his viewers and Patron ( much like his mentor, the Shittelaine). He doesn’t interact, read comments, respond to questions, is not transparent with ownership, safety, engineering, construction issues/ techniques, etc. After manipulating viewers through his fear porn videos, he then routinely disappears for day/days with no notice, to amp up his views, etc. His sarcastic flippant, see ya tomorrow bullshit.

Is he currently pulling in 30,000 dollars/ euros a month? He didn’t disclose his Egypt vacation in his YouTube videos, he just included photos of his Egyptian vacation on his Instagram. He is incredibly manipulative with his viewers/Patrons and some are finally beginning to see the truth about manless, planless, ( and if he isn’t more careful, “ lifeless”) Dan. There may come a point where many viewers will bail and he will not be able to add new viewers to make up the difference.

He deliberately doesn’t follow basic construction techniques, safety rules, and continues to wear/use no safety gear to amp up his fear porn theme.YouTube ratings/ subscriptions/ and Patreon support has only added to his bloated ego.

Will the tv show ultimately axe Dan from their series because they may be seen as promoting and condoning his reckless behavior?

Channel 4 should be distancing itself from further filming and airing daredevil Dan working on the burned out chateau. May set themselves up for a lawsuit from followers watching their channel who try to be like Daredevil Dan. Your thoughts?
I'm not a lawyer/solicitor but I don't think Dan's reckless antics could be sued under reckless endangerment if someone chose to emulate his behavior.

Marquis' wife here:

It's interesting how, when the war in Ukraine broke out, Stephanie, in her usual tone-deaf manner kept vlogging about her luxury trip to Venice while Ukrainians tried to flee for their lives. There was no sympathy extended to the Ukrainians until they learned that Pavlina's arrival would be delayed. Not sure if I just missed it or if she really had no sympathy or a mere mention of the crisis. She's doing it again now with Israel and Palestine. I guess she doesn't want to offend her generous friend, the Sultana. Apologies if I sound like I'm projecting, it's probably because what's happening in the Middle East is too close to home for me.

That brings me to a quick update, Tattlers. My husband and his cousin/best friend (and best man at our wedding) have gone to volunteer in Israel. Their family said they want to do anything they can to help in the war effort, particularly, extending humanitarian aid to civilian Israelis and Palestinians. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

There were 4 great lines from today's CD and each one made me LOL (which we all so desperately need to do with the terrible world news).
Amuary - "Oh perfect, so the peacocks have a lovely chaise" (coupled with Amuary's complete frustration that Fanny can't seem to throw away any crap and bewilderment at why his father was encouraging Fanny to keep the crapped out sofa. He was so disgusted that Snorty didn't take those old mattresses & the sofa straight to the dump, that Amuary wouldn't even help his father move the damn sofa back off the van....lol)

Fanny - "Its a sign. We'll just keep the sofa and we'll repair it. (Like those chairs Snorty brought from London by van back in January and haven't been seen since???)

Amuary - "This is what physical work looks like"

Fanny - "It's a concert"
Maria - "It's not a concert, it's a prelude to cheese. Reduce the expectations"

Amuary, Fanny is away in Scotland this week. You know Fanny's a hoarder, so now's your chance to order a few skips and empty out the attic, barn and outbuildings of all the crap that is piled high in every room in the shitoo!
Honestly, those mattresses are going to absorb all the damp, they're going to get moldy, mice etc are going to be burrowing in them... ugh... just disgusting... then she'll expect the men to deal with them... F off Fanny, do it yourself.

I feel like Fanny and Armore are the creations of their parents handling everything for them. I don’t think they have any idea how to manage on their own in a healthy, normal way. They rely on parents or partners (such as they are), to guide them, pay for things (shitoo or tools) etc. When you stand back and look at these two cousins they both seem to be crippled as far as being “grownups”. I could feel sorry for them except for the lying, cheating and grifting they’ve done. Yes, he’s complicit too. He might not have realized it at first but, now he knows. Everyone there knows.
You have to kick your little birds out of the nest or they never learn to fly. I'm proud to say I was a good kicker with good results!

Amaury is so tired of cleaning out buildings at the dump only to have his Cuz F4F instantly fill the spaces with more tit. Today, we watched her dump an old sofa into the open building, where peacocks will tit on the abandoned sofa multiple times per day. Disgusting.

The next time Cuz Fanny is traveling, Amaury should relocate the tit covered sofa to the Shittelaine’s boudoir.

Dan still doesn’t have a disclaimer on his videos to not follow his actions, recklessness, and “ intuitive” “ one potato, 2 potato” “ paint by numbers” “ throw tit against the wall and see what sticks” construction techniques. He is also recklessly endangering the 2 puppies who freely roam the site sniffing, licking, and carrying around debris covered with gosh know what chemicals, lead, etc. on them and are also in danger of being crushed by falling debris.

Seeing this on Marie Wiik's IG just now is.......something to behold.

When one only lights up when they're on camera in a vlog that is about as inauthentic as they come, maybe you aren't the best person to provide life advice about how to be non-fake and authentic......

View attachment 2507348
Stop MariE, please just stop. Who exactly is starving? You? And what kind of world are you living in right now? FAKE! If this is your "most authentic and vulnerable self" you need help more than I realized. This saying is so selfish, being of service to others is much more valuable than that airy fairy crap. Where do these people come from? I'd really like to know!

FRK is a stage 5 clinger, just like Snorts. They are both clinging to the Shittelaine and the Dump as their “ forever” home. FRK is planning flower gardens for the spring 2024, is wearing Stephanie’s castoffs, preparing special meals to cater to Khillip’s toddler palate, and has firmly planted herself in the Dump attic bedroom/ sitting room area. Bad news: winter is coming and FRK was getting chilly today. Wait until January, FRK. Better ask Santa to bring you lots of hot water bottles!

Is it possible that FRK’s mother is visiting the Dump to be filmed for the advent videos and to take her daughter back to Norway until spring?

OMG! Those mattresses look like they came out of a junky squatter apartment. Now, they will sit there with all the vermin and bugs moving in shitting everywhere and bringing disease. Unbelievable! Surely Phi must be allergic to vermin and bug poo? All the family are just a bunch of enablers, they're all the same. It's the same diseased tree they all dropped from.
Maybe there is a shooting gallery we are unaware of……?!? Eyes Wide Shut/ Born Slippy?

No donation center in the western world has accepted used (filthy) mattresses for decades. Stephanie and Uncle would certainly know if they donated ever, at any time. It was clearly an attempt to ‘donate’ garbage that someone else has to take to the county tip on the charity’s dime. When denied that option, they BRING the SH*T BACK and TARP IT so Amaury can deal with it later? Snorts at the end of the segment, off camera, states ‘it’ll all go back upstairs’ WTF?!?

Maybe it’s because he didn’t grow up with a Dad around. He has said he and his mom were alone to work most things out in their own. Could be why he doesn’t know how to act like a man.

He is very immature. We saw how poorly he treated Annalise, always putting her down, ignoring her, or treating her rudely. I believe his arrogance grew the more he spent time at the Dump, and especially after he got his Turkey teeth and started to gain YouTube viewers and was signed to the tv show.

They should have taken the mattresses and couch to the tip and not bought then back to the farm house.
I would approve of the couch going into Am's workshop for Molly to use though!
I would hate for poor Molly to get bedbugs, lice or fleas from that rancid old sofa!
