I'm giving Stephanie way too many views on this vlog because I have to keep replaying the Yorick bits.šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

This screenshot in particular reminds me of someone.

Or maybe this one...

Or maybe he just reminds me of some random French boy I've seen in the past.
I don't think I'll ever figure it out. šŸ˜–
It has just crossed my mind that he is a paid actor and has nothing to do with the previous owners family. Itā€™s the only thing that makes sense.

It is all very strange that he is ā€˜volunteeringā€™ at La Lande. Why is he not working at the real family chateau. I am sure there is loads of work for him to do that will benefit the family Directly.
Why Are these Nadalacs always returning?. Do they actually still own La Lande? Is Stephanie lying about ownership? Who the hell keeps visiting their old property once they have sold it. Everything in Fannys life doesnā€™t add up. Her houses, her exes and her finances.
It does make you wonder why they keep coming back.

The woman from whom we bought our country place was the same.
She regularly used to 'pop in'.
I think she regretted selling.

5) I will never downplay or forget the enchanting effect of the ever laudatory utterances of the chateau owner I worked for a few years ago, an absolute queen when it comes to literal and figurative adornment, by celebrating every attempt at creation or even plain maintenance or domestic work with the awarding words ā€˜best ever in her lifeā€™ or ā€˜you are so extraordinarily talentedā€™, always applauding the efforts of the only one capable and thus adding to her own charm by interminably being friendly and complimentary.
I obviously canā€™t prove malicious intent nor would I want to suggest any, but when I finally came to recognize the pattern, the profound non-exclusiveness of her remarks, her fictitious spell on me was promptly broken.

6)
The actual story ties together me, a well attended chateau easter party unfortunately causing a severe blockage in a sewer pipe situated high upon a ceiling, little understanding of skills needed to resolve this problem but serious good intentions of helpfulness, and one ladder only just high enough for a balanced reach, or so I thought before taking into account the pressure released when opening the valve.

The appurtenant narrative easily tempts me into meandering exaggeration so is probably best kept safely tucked away from me by your ability to imagine and my ardent need to remain eloquent, with only one aspect worthy to push forward in its real redefinition of the words messy and smelly. Oh, and this: the problem wasnā€™t resolved by my heroic but dimwitted performance and the meanwhile engaged plumber suffered the same fate the next day, somewhat saving my ego. The epic clean up, thematically summarized in the French saying ā€˜AprĆØs nous, le dĆ©lugeā€™, also includes relevant comparison to present day USA, but Iā€™ll spare you.

7) six years ago today, having only just started the French adventure that would turn our lives upside down in many ways but grounded us in so many more, stunned by the apparent generosity of the chatelaine who took us in while in the same breath left us responsible in and for her majestic castle without proper instructions or funds to manage the various challenges coming our way, an enduring friendship commenced when we were kindly invited to share in the Thanksgiving celebrations at yet another chateau, a magical place lit by candles and warmed by a roaring open fire, with its comely chatelaine in front of it when we entered hesitantly, wearing ā€œYes, itā€™s a nightyā€, one of a vast collection we soon learned because they were all hanging from the ancient beamed ceiling, adding original enchantment to the already captivating ambiance.
What a great ding @mousepanda8. So much for them not talking about their La Lande experience. I wish they would talk more.

It would appear that apart from being a general bullying biatch, the straw that broke the camel's back for Sillymar was when Thotiana came to visit. It was understood that she will be allowed to use one of the chateau rooms, but Fanny La Flash was away (as usual) when Tatters came to visit. Nasty refused to give her a room on the pretence this hadn't been approved with Stufanieee and made Salemare feel like a chewed gum you find on the sole of your shoe. Their entire attitude towards the Tatters situation prior to this was far from supporting as they all thought Sillymar was getting catfished, so I think no one expected Thots to actually show up. Here's Selmar himself explaining the situation:

Natti was a volunteer first? What happened? Why did SJ choose Natti over Selmar? She canā€™t keep friends. Thank you for posting this. SJ is truly a horrible woman.

Apparently when Natti was a volunteer, she and Fanny bonded over tales of being dumped by boyfriends. When Fanny was looking for a manager, she chose Natti. While I think what Fanny did to Selmar was reprehensible, Natti was more valuable. Natti will easily look the other way and go along with anything, Selmar not so much. Fanny was probably very relieved when Selmar left. He had become a burden to her. He didn't fit in with the new plan. They used him when there wasn't anyone else, especially Isabelle. Selmar doesn't read people at all. He didn't see the writing all the wall. Fanny is ambitious and a narc. People in her world are quite disposable. She values Nasti's abiltiy to be nasty, that lets her off the hook and she can maintain her image of being the good witch, Selmar could never do that for her. Phyllis will also go along and look the other way, so will Cuz.

Dying over the murals...
These are the candle holders you purchased from Miss Alice?
She has a lot of yummy things...
Thanks! The artist really did a great job on the walls. I gave her a general idea about what I wanted and the colors, and she did the restā€¦I love it! I looked at wallpaper, but I think the painted scenic turned out much better. Yes, the candlestick (pair) is from Mrs. Alice. Itā€™s the only thing Iā€™ve ever bought from that siteā€¦a splurgeā€¦but I really liked them. I usually just look at the Mrs. Alice site for ideas and inspiration.

Chateau love have an indoor pool!!! They can also heat it in the winter. I did not know that!
Well, interesting.
V&S walk around their Chateau in skimpy clothes. So it's warm with them.
And did you see how S cleans crumbs from framed photos and makes sure they are lined up perfectly?
LL really, looks like a barn from this perspective (regardless of the Venetian chandeliers).
If I were SJ, I'd avoid them all like the plague, lest my followers start comparing my dump where nothing happens to another, obviously, more well-kept chateau.

It's redirected anger. They don't know how to channel it, or deal with it, so we get the blame. This person feels deep down that they failed their mother with her alzheimers, and are ultimately responsible for her death by drowning. He or she could have done more for their mother... and didn't. This guilt effects them to their core and WE are the easiest target for all their self loathing. All their outburst has done is show how sad and weak they are. If they didn't need professional help so badly, it'd be pathetic.
I call bullshit on Kareems story...there I said itšŸ˜‰

It's right next to their new 'gallery/gym'. :D

OKay, like Allllll of this is all very well but what has happened to that god awful vase from South Africa??

After reading a cute story written by a primary school teacher who had been teaching her kids phonetic reading of animal names, they were going through some pictures and one kid goes: look it's a freakin' elephant! The teacher was a bit angry that the kid was swearing until she realised he had read underneath the photo: A Frican Elephant.
So now my mum and I always talk about A Frican Elephants.

It seems from one of the extracts that they feel guilty about letting their own morals slip when with Stephanfraud-hence why they haven't fully spoken out. Interestingly they posted that they use to be able to see the chateau from the new residence until the neighbour build a wall - yet try and avoid her at all costs

@Clara Burnett - Do you have any ideas/knowledge about why the nadillac grandson has come back? - what are the tryig to achieve?
Who knows....

He's a dead ringer for my nephew but he has never been in France in his life.

I looked up the other family chateau (from the outside) and it is far more historical ( 15th, 17th and18th century) - maybe smaller in size, but probably better kept- apparently it was restored entirely between 1968 and 1973. It has also been listed as a historical site of significance

If the nadaillac family have struck some kinda deal with stephanfraud ( which I doubt) they are most certainly not getting any renovations and when stephanie leaves le dump it will be in a wrose state than when she arrived ( yet with prettier wallpaper on the rubble)

So is Escape to the Dream, Restoring the Chateau - I shan't accuse these two of poetic bravado

Wait, when did I miss this? I did wonder what happened to those, but then again I thought it was Fanny being Fanny - nothing ever gets finished.
Look, I know they're terribly kitsch, but the kitchen tiles were one of the few things I was looking forward to - I thought they were fun with all of the different (porno) characters! So Shrek asked for compensation and now the tiles project is kaput?
No she has the tiles just hasn't ut them up

I agree @jojonnz
I recall Marie sliding into her depression.
Stephanie would repeatedly say 'I love you' to Marie.
It irritated the crap out of me.
I used to think, your concern is for the camera only Stephanie.
And poor Selmar had a depression when at Lalande too.
I wonder if bun man also has issues . Drink never helps.

who is Aiden?

you are right...when mu aunt died and the house had to be cleared out....i asked my sister and nieces if they wanted something...they all declined...they didnt want all the old stuff...the porcelaine...the crystal..the silver...they all have a modern way of living...so ..as it is very valuable...i had it all moved to the attic here.....we have allready too much..so we are gonna sell it..I somtimes wonder what is going to happen to this place when i am dead...i think i have to put everything in a trust..otherwise my nieces just throw everything out...they dont have one bit of historical feeling with the place and all whats in it..very sad..no matter how much i tell them..or how rich
we decorate the table for christmas..or birthdaydinners..they are not even interested in the old jewels..a bit sad..

Fanny claimes he is a member of de Nadaillac Family..the one she bought the farmhouse from..
The ā€˜ youthā€™ unless squirrel or Nick Fairpants ,do not want the bother of cleaning and polishing things. They also have see money to pay others to do it too.
And now it seems that they also do not want the look their parents had.

it is the same here. They do not want the clocks, rugs, silver . Maybe a painting but thatā€™s it.
Even beautiful linen ā€¦.. I have held on to things but still put lots into auction.
I agree use things enjoy them. But equally kitchen table suppers are lovely too
