Camilla clearly has experience of him being an impatient grouch ….. you saw it in her face when he was hissy fitting about the inkwell on signing The Oaths at the Assession Ceremony. (When our Bonnie Johnny came to the rescue). As you say …. NEVER would the Queen have acted in such a petulant manner in public. She was forever gracious & accommodating whatever she was confronted with.

The fact that all of KC3’s Clarence House staff were given redundancy notices whilst the ceremony in St Giles Cathedral was happening (during a nationally declared 10 day mourning period) plus the fact that disgraced Andrew has been given a place on the Deputy Council for when the King is absent tells me he is not overly aware of the optics of potentially controversial issues. That is worrying.

I loved the Queen … because although massively privileged by mere accident of birth ….her sense of duty and the values she lived by were impeccable. I believe she was of a different generation and her soft power was a significant asset to this country.

Already Charles has a fair few incidents of questionable behaviour ….. and people are really beginning to question the value of a wealthy privileged monarchy when poverty & potential destitution is increasing here in UK whilst the rich just get richer.

He needs reminding that we only have a monarchy by consensus …. & he has huge shoes to fill but I do think it will be down to him whether that monarchical system endures.

At the moment I am on the fence whether he will be a successful monarch or not. One big problem is if we didn’t have that system , what would replace it? Do we even need a Head of State? The idea of a flawed character like a President Boris Johnson could be elected is utterly abhorrent!

Big questions for the UK over the next few years …..
People in the know are saying the media is blowing the redundancy thing out of all proportion. Staff sign contracts where they know when the Royal dies their job is obsolete. Some will take redundancy others will move to other Royal jobs. They do what they can. If the Royals kept the staff in obsolete jobs there would be uproar about them wasting taxpayers money. Damned if you do and damned if you don't!

Is it possible to sterilize peacocks? Eventueel there will be to many peacocks so it's definitely something important to consider.

@caroline gooder yes but at some point the other chateaus will be full too. There is a zoo near were I live that is over run with free range peacocks because they keep breeding.
Belfast Zoo 'sterilise' their peacocks to a certain degree. There's dozens of them about the place. It's easy, the keepers just put contraceptives in their feed. Most zoos and animal sanctuarys do this. I know all Australian zoos do the same. It's humane to control an animal population that could grow beyond control - especially as there's times when these animals compete for diminishing resources in the same environment. Patron Michelle Bennett's local zoo pointedly needs new administrative vets and a breeding program that strictly adhered to. Caroline Gooder obviously knows as much about peacocks as Fanny does, i.e. bugger all (yes Fanny, their tail feathers fall out, and fancy you not knowing that when you grew up with them). Giving them away to other chateau and friends doesn't solve the problem, especially when siblings are permitted to breed.

Just caught a glimpse for the first time of the look JTB and Liz Truss gave each other upon meeting. I think Johnny likes the power chicks.
Just talking with a friend about being reduced to gibbering Jello, the coup de foudre, by meeting a pretty man. IRL, I have pretty good manners and can talk to anybody, Except when, in the course of work, I met Frank Langella. I have a thing for the Guidoes. The look JTB gave Truss reminds me of the look naughty Frankie gave me when we were both younger and much cuter. I was working, it was a very straight-laced political venue, similar to the one where JTB and LT were meeting, so I had to keep my stuff toe tally together.
I can still feel it.
Dang.

That's a violent oh hell no from me. Too crowded, too stifling, too overwhelming and mixing animal prints with tartan? No, just no Madame No. You're right of course, Fanny would adore it, stupid cow. 🙄
To each his/her own my dear! Sorry it hurt your eyes.🤣

Jewellery is symbolic especially with royalty. The stick insect 'a praying mantis'
Overwhelmingly in most cultures the mantis is a symbol of stillness. As such, she is an ambassador from the animal kingdom giving testimony to the benefits of meditation, and calming our minds. An appearance from the mantis is a message to be still, go within, meditate, get quite and reach a place of calm.

Poor Megsybaby. Not getting access to the royal jewels?
So say the commentators - Because the stick insect brooch has great sentimental value to QCC, it having been a gift from her father. KCIII is said to like the brooch very much, as he admires the quirkiness of the design and the fact that his wife is bold enough in her choices to stand out from the ordinary. Apparently QCC has a great fondness for insects, especially dragon flies, stick insects and has been given the honour of being gifted several of the late Queen's butterfly brooches in the past.

All of this learnt whilst watching events unfold on tv but really searching for glimpses of close military friends involved in the proceedings.
I believe the Duchess of Devonshire ‘ Debo’ had a huge collection of insect brooches.. many were sold when she died .

Most humbly I did not take offense.
Thank you. Strength to your arm.
Grandma Billy was not a narc. She was bipolar. Down the generations we all have a touch of it. One of my rellies who has much more than a touch of it and I were talking about gratitude today, for all his clinical ups and downs, he has always held on to an innate sense of progressive, optimistic, forward movement. I have this too. I wish for everyone to have it. Bless.
ok here goes a very short version of events.

1. No idea re Dan. Just speculation SJ became fed up with him and his vlogs from the Chateau when he lived there after breakup from Annalise.

2. Not alot just grown apart, still loved each other, staying friends because of the kids. Video was weirdly shot. Very arty farty and he had a lot of flak over it. Allegedly SJ offered both of them a home at the Chateau. Clearly Dan lost. Speculation that he had a 1 nighter with a volunteer and got caught out.

3. AnneMarie was bought in over a year ago to work on the new panelling in the Grand Salon. (That’s French for Big Salon, PhiPhi told us). He’s yet to start. As for Nutti, if you were stuck in the heap in the middle of nowhere, your options are clearly limited.

4. Selmar revealed on a now deleted vlog (it’s on the wiki though) that life at the Shitoo became unbearable as Nutti made life difficult for him which came to a head when Tati arrived and Nutti would not give her a room. There was an almighty row. Selmar felt they had to leave for their own sakes. SJ has not to date commented on this, Nutti lay low for a while, and @Clara Burnett has indicated there’s a recording of Nutti going nuts at Tatti. We’re rather looking forward to hearing it.

Right, that’s yer lot. No more sighing please, we’re busy watching Bonnie Johnnie right now 😉

Thank you too, that explains it! Some comments made it seem as if more had happened and I was going crazy trying to find this information that doesn't exist. Thanks to everyone who took the time to explain. Luckily, the Selmar exist and row with Nutty is on the wiki.

Thank you @ComtessRose, appreciate it. ❤
TBH, my time here on TL has never ever been about reaching VIP status and naming a thread - although that is obviously an honour. It was only ever been about my total disgust at SJ's scamming her patrons.
I am more than happy to forego naming any future thread for other members to do so given what comes up in the future, therefore which will be more currently appropriate.

Johnny the Bonnie was there because it's an honour given to the former Queen's senior most body guard. He was not there in his new role of equerry to the new king. The gossip is that his placement in cortage near Harry and Megs was due to the perception that they are the royals most likely to be targeted, but he would have been made part of the lineup regardless because it was the Queen's wish, her thank you to him. To answer another question of yours from a previous post, those also in the honour guard of royals that you didn't know, were the Duke of Gloucester, HM's cousin and the Earl of Snowdon, son of Princess Margaret.
I thought Snowden and Gloucester preceded JTB?
