Where I live it’s still required and mostly followed tbh. Must be dependent on trusts (actually I think I heard it is). You’d think they’d have some awareness of the seriousness of the situation wouldn’t you (actually, hilarious, what a stupid thing for me to say).

Part of me wants Archie to just drift away while his mum is on tv or doing an interview or whatever. I feel like his end would be more peaceful, Hollie will turn it into something all about her - I can imagine the overly dramatic sobbing and shrieking and the blaming whichever poor doctor or nurse is nearby, and whom ever has the responsibility to confirm the time of death.

So Archie’s had no care the last four months but has a nurse In his room 24/7. What’s the nurse doing then? Make it make sense Hollie.
If I remember correctly , mother was also brain dead with no brain stem activity and had mechanical assistance to keep going for 5 months to act as a incubator for the baby .Once the baby was viable to survive on outside , they turned the life support off

What I can't get my head is;
1) why I bothered getting my nursing degree and slogging my guts away for the past 15 years when I could have learnt all I needed to know from Jo from Basildon at the Facebook school of medicine
2) why there has been absolutely no critique of the parents or this whole sorry situation by the media? I've been so relieved to have this thread and read sensible, articulate views and explainations of the legal documentation (not my area at all!) So many people I know, both personally and professionally, have completely the wrong end of the stick and truely believe he's in a coma and might just need more time
but then it's no wonder when the facts are being glossed over.
Don't get me started on the go fund me bull, that's a whole different horrific saga isn't it? Absolutely bewildered by it all

They can use oxygen for comfort. For example as if the patient feels they can't breathe and it is distressing they may use a small amount to ease this distress.
Plotting how best to murder him and what organ to take first obvs.

Seriously if he‘s had no care for the last 4 months then he’d already be buried. Nothing that comes out of that woman’s gob has any sense or logic I swear.
Our hospital Is still masks on all wards for staff. Visitors should too…

Archie’s suffered coning so parts of his brain has been pushed through the opening at the base of his skull. His brain hasn’t had blood flow for months and his brain scans look like what you’d see at post-mortem. He also has necrotic tissue in multiple parts of his body. His organs are failing.
There’s being brain dead and then there’s what Archie has so the case you’re referring to isn’t comparable.
He is literally decomposing in his hospital bed and his medical team stated he only had weeks left before he’d suffer a horrific and chaotic death. All the days are starting to merge but I’m pretty sure they said that over a week ago so he’s already into that timeframe? It’s kinder to the boy to withdraw treatment.

Has the mum used Jahi McMath as an example yet? She 'lived' for two years after being declared dead. It happened in America a few years ago.
