If Archie was one of my patients I'd make sure Id booked up a lot of annual leave and try to avoid his mother. You just know she treats the staff like tit I hope the staff receive counselling as I can't imagine being expected to turn, wash , give injections and feeds to a corpse. It's bloody barbaric.
He's also had blood transfusions. When I signed up for that I never expected my Type O+ to be pumped into a dead person.

I’m looking on Twitter now and I’m shocked that the whole ‘Archie was doing an internet challenge’ narrative is still being pushed. I understand that people who write news articles for the BBC and other big news outlets aren’t going to be up to date with internet trends for kids but it’s still aggravating to see misinformation being spread so widely. For anyone unaware, there was a ‘fainting challenge’ that was mildly popular about ten years ago on YouTube. It involved either holding your breath and jumping up and down until you pass out, or a more dangerous version was having a friend choke you until you pass out. Obviously this was a really imbecilic trend so it never actually got extremely popular like the media likes to portray. I find it very hard to believe that Archie was following a trend that was nearly as old as him. I also find it very difficult to believe that a twelve year old who hung themselves with a dressing gown chord over the bannister wasn’t suicidal. He had to be fully aware of what he was doing. The child has been through enough suffering and the judge letting him die peacefully is the most humane thing that’s happened through this whole horror story.

I was just wondering the same.
Surely nobody can make accusations like that and get away with it? Saying the judge sentenced people to death!?
I guess so, but I'd imagine that the judge will recognise it as the rantings of a grieving mother and not seek to inflict further judicial angst upon her. Which will doubtless be understood by the hard-of-thinking as an admission of guilt "becoz if 'e weren't 'e'd of sed summink, wudn't 'e ?"

Unfortunately that has been happening for some time now, I think the first court judgement document contains details about necrosis (decay) of some of Archie’s brain tissue, and in the document from yesterday it states that the secretions are being suctioned from his lungs are also now necrotic.

There is a very informative thread on another forum - if you search kiwi & his name it will come up. Warning -said forum has a lot of very interesting information on certain subjects/people but it is extremely abrasive in posting style. I found it when the Jahi Mcmath case started, there are extensive threads about that too.

Thank you - so that seems internal decay is occurring - will it happen outwardly too?

Eventually yes, re Jahi Mcmath, as time went on her mother began painting her nails and covering her eyes with sunglasses in all her pictures to cover up deterioration.
Archie is in a much less functional state than Jahi and so this will happen more quickly.

Deflect, deflect, deflect. My job involves helping people from low socio-economic backgrounds, like Hollie and the majority of the "army". Nothing is ever their fault. It's always the school's fault, the teacher's fault, the doctor's fault, the council's fault, the police's fault, the social worker's fault, the school nurse's fault, the government's fault. They refuse to take any responsibility for their actions, and lash out at anyone who offers constructive advice. It's no coincidence that most of these cases seem to involve people from that kind of background.
THIS. A hundred times. Zero accountability. It‘s never ever their fault. I was a teacher until recently and leaving the profession was the very best thing I’ve ever done. It‘s not the kids. It’s never the kids. I loved the kids. It’s the thick a parents who try to hold you accountable for their failures as parents.

I'm not a healthcare worker and so have no experience of this so please forgive this question - if, as all the literature seems to show, Archie isn't absorbing nutrition etc, does that mean at some point his body will start to decay? :(
Archie has cachexia which is severe wasting related to illness. Feeding someone more doesn't help as the body can't process it, hence the loose bowels then constipation. Archie's body is failing even hooked up to all those machines, Hollies accusing the staff of starving him when his poor little body can't cope with feeding.

The worst part out of all of this is Archie’s body has already failed. Beyond reasonable doubt, Archie is dead. There is necrosis in his lungs. He is on no sedation even though he is intubated because he has no coughing or gag reflex. In every photo Hollie posts you can see dark spots of necrosis appearing on his body. Hollie wants to spin Archie’s body losing weight as the hospital not feeding him enough or abusing him etc etc. he’s ‘malnourished’ because he is literally decomposing from the inside out. It’s sickening that the doctors and nurses are being made to be subjected to this mentally disturbing farce of ‘medical care.’ The only ‘sign of life’ inside that poor child’s corpse is a heartbeat, which is artificial. Nothing about that child is ‘alive’ and this circus needs to end so Hollie and the family can begin to grieve ASAP.

I have been following Archie’s story for some time and was quite relieved when I came upon this thread as I thought maybe I was being too harsh.
As a mother, I cannot imagine what it must be like to loose your child. I often think that I would go mad if something was to happen to my children. I think this is exactly the case with Archie’s mum. She has become mentally unwell and is in complete denial that her child has died. The narrative that she has created is not that of a mentally sound person. The fact her story is constantly changing is proof of that.
I read today’s judgement and I thought the judge showed a lot of compassion to Archie’s family. I pray that any discussion of appealing is dismissed and Archie can rest in peace.

Gallows humour, there's enough nurses on here that I won't be completely lambasted. The best thing about this thread is the participation of a member named @Lazarus .

It keeps making me laugh.
I’m glad that’s given you a giggle. I chose that name only because I had an account on here previously but deactivated for a while then created a new account and came back. Exactly like Lazarus 😂

I’d expect for the ECHR to dismiss this if it ever came to it but I’d be interested to see how much weight, if any, is given to the family being religious

They’ve really been playing the religious angle recently, including the father
I thought this exact thing.

Couldn’t agree more with this statement. Who in their right mind would want this for their child?
The only thing that’s disgraceful is that she’s dragging this out into the public eye herself, she’s posting vulgar pictures of her child in a very vulnerable state and thinking it’s okay, doing interviews when she should be spending precious time with her child.
I’ve no right to tell anyone how to grieve and this is merely my opinion but he isn’t coming back and I think she knows that.
she needs to let go and think of her son, not herself anymore. He needs dignity not this.

She’s thriving off these interviews and it’s sickening.
she could have potentially less than a week left with her child and all she’s interested in is doing interviews.
It’s not going to bring her child back so i dont know what she thinks she’s achieving. 😢.

whilst I wouldn’t wish the pain of losing a child on anyone and can’t help but feel for her as a mother - I can’t stand her!!!!

For me she just contradicts herself so much and riles her ‘army’ up in the process. She’s said in court she knows Archie is going to die but as previously discussed here she wants the chaotic, unplanned death where he crashes. Not the peaceful, dignified death the court has ordered.
Yet she then spouts this…….

I don't understand the god argument. Is anyone a devout Christian on here? Surely removing the artificial life support is the best way of testing god's will to see if he starts breathing on his own ?

I am not myself, however;

“Christian Scientists believe that the primary method of healing should be through prayer, and many members have in the past been against modern medical treatments.”
