Any Londoners who knows what happens on strike days?
I have a concert in London on 7 Nov and it says the whole underground will be on strike
Strikes will often get called off at the last minute but make a solid Plan B. Generally speaking, if tube strikes go ahead, public transport is fucked. Where’s the gig and where are you travelling from?

Thanks all!
I've had a cheap mini valet done to it so at least it was clean for photos, I have pre-warned the dealership that they're scuffed but worry they're worse than people would think. I'll not bother now though ☺

Does anyone have recommendations for the strongest OTC antihistamines for hay-fever? I'm suffering so bad and it's affecting work as I'm having to keep muting myself or putting people on hold so I can cough and sneeze. My GP doesn't prescribe antihistamines 😔
Tried 10mg Loratadine and 10mg of Cetirizine Dihydrochloride
I was told that the nasal sprays are the best thing to use. You can use them alongside the tablets above

Thanks to the Tattlers who recommended the fast 800 calorie counting. And a special shoutout to @littlepup for the menu.
In a week I’ve lost 2kg! And that includes going for a Turkish on Sunday which meant I wrote that day off.
This is supposed to be just a quick fix but it’s made me realise how out of hand my snacking has become!

I’ve always had a pretty healthy balanced diet but since I’ve restricted my calories to 800-1000 per day I’ve seen how much crap I snack on.
Going forward this is something I will address :m :m
Well done! I know we shouldn’t always applaud weight loss and all that but well done for having a goal and sticking to what you need to do to get it done! And if it kickstarts more healthy habits all the better 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I don’t like the instant coffee at work (it’s Nescafé gold blend!) I normally buy the sachets but sometimes I just want a black coffee.

I really like Kenco brand and want to buy their instant coffee but can’t decide between smooth or rich. What does everyone suggest? I don’t mind buying another brand if there’s a better one out there than kenco? I’m in the uk too x
Personal choice if you like it strong or bitter or smooth or caramel-y.
Douwe Egberts is a popular choice but it makes me feel a bit sick as I find it strong. I'd look at the reviews on the online supermarket websites for one that suits your tastes.

Does he know it was on credit card? are you paying more of the bills now as he’s been made redundant?
So all our money is joint, it goes into 1 account - he thought I had a extra savings account where I got the 2k from - every month after bills and savings we have 50/60 each for our own thing - I said I’d be saving that up as a suprise :/

Does anyone know if it’s at all possible to self study for A-levels at home for free when you’re 16 , rather than go to college ?
Context … my niece is absolutely hating college , to the point wheee her mental health has massively worsened . She had a panic attack on the journey there this week , and had to go home and hasn’t been able to go since .
She has an awful lot going on on her personal life , and genuinely doesn’t think she can physically / mentally handle going into college , but would still like to study A-level at home
We’ve googled and there our places that offer an online learning experience for A-levels , but they cost £££££….. is there anyway do student home for free , for 16-18 year olds ?
Any advice would be much appreciated xx

I’ve been trying to eat more salad and smaller portions and I have lost 4lb. However as I can lose 10lb of water overnight it remains to be seen if it is actual loss or not!

Any experiences of the minipill? I'm a pack and a half in and I've been bleeding for 3 weeks. Part of which was an actual period, rather than side effect bleeding . I'm sure another period is on it's way as I'm in a foul mood.

Should I preserve in case it miraculously improves or just Jack it in now? Apart from the contraceptive aspect , I think I preferred it before I took it .

I'm hoping anyone who is great at shopping can help me.
I LOVE this tote bag from Primark- here. The handles are perfect and so is the size inside! But I feel it's too casual for work. So I'm looking for a professional looking bag basically with the long handles, similar to the primark one. Most handbags feel too claustiphobic under my arm pit haha

And I'm also looking for gold rope twist chain necklace that is 22inch and more but doesn't get thicker/bigger as the length goes on! Similar to the one I linked! x
I've got an aspinal tote that I love. They no longer do the specific style I have but they've got other ones with long handles. It's on the more expensive side but it's real leather and so well made. Will last years! There's a bright blue one in the outlet store plus if you use the first time buyer code you'll get a further 10/15% off

I rent through a letting agency. There’s been a lot of work going on, drilling/hammering above my room so I asked if the agency could let me know when work was planned so I could arrange where possible to be out. It’s much louder than legally allowed without ear plugs/noise defenders.

I got the following reply

“Hi,
No work going on in that flat by us.
Regards
Agency”

My landlord owns the agency so it can’t be them either. It’s really noisy as the room I have is very high so it echoes an impossible to be in when it’s being done which it is at various hours of day and night. 3am yesterday!!

I read the bible as much as I can and pray. I took up bible journaling/colouring. There are some excellent Christian based resources around, one I found helpful was a pocket book of prayers which was collated by people doing AA, I’ll see if I can find a title for you, mines, literally, in bits now. Not all of it is relevant but the poem was in there, you can also get that on cards. When I can I pray the rosary and do novenas. Compline is a lovely service before bed, YouTube have some excellent ones, if you can find it then the ones by stanbrook abbey and prinknash are worth a listen (ones in Latin other English). I listen to scripture on YouTube as well.

During hard times it’s difficult to do this so I try as a minimum to watch/say compline and pray (as in talk, give thanks when things go right mostly because that’s what I need to remember the things that are going well even if it’s small stuff like someone helped me today when shopping. The bible journaling/colouring is really calming I find too.

I can’t manage services anymore, but when I could and found services that really led me to God I found them really helpful, particularly given my family situation.
Do you know about the app Soulspace? It’s a Christianity based meditation app, (I’m a bit all over the place faith wise with parents coming from two completely different religious backgrounds but both non practising). I find it lovely. You can use it free or there are a few more options with the paid version which isn’t that expensive compared to many apps. It also has a free anxiety widget. The reader is very soothing - I hate most readers of audio books etc so it was a big thing for me. It’s not specifically catholic though if that’s an issue. There is a catholic one linked with Mark Wahlberg but the name escapes me - it’s much more expensive though.

honeslty I dont have any achievments and they are the ideal child my parent wanted to it hurts even more. but as the advice is easily given. but thank you fro replying and i am sure you also have achievements sending lots of love.

yh thats true, it's just I have been compared to this person and their achievements/milestones and now they got thier next one so it feels like a stab in the heart and i cannot shake the feeling off.
Reading your response, it sounds like your parents are the issue not you. We should love people not their job/home/ jewelry etc. I’m willing to bet you’re a much nicer person than they are.

Am glad you managed to get it 😊

Had anyone done the virtual races on the conqueror challenge website? They have a Harry potter one I was thinking about doing, wondered how easy/hard they are to keep track an complete, it does say it links with Fitbit but does it link easy enough, I assume you also get each medal as you complete them as well, or does it just send all of them out when finished?
I do them! You have choices, you can input your data manually, or it can come from your wrist device (mine is Apple Watch) and you can also choose with some if you do the long or shorter challenge. Re the medal, you go through a checkout to get the medal, to make sure the address is correct etc. I’ve got a few medals now, I’ve had some issues with my watch sending date since I switched phone, but since I’m mainly using them now for other things than walking or running I’ve not made a huge effort to rectify that. You can also have several on the go at once. I haven’t done a Harry Potter one, I signed up for the scooby doo one thinking my kids would like it, and honestly it’s rubbish. I’ve much preferred the ones with actual map view you can nosy around, the scooby doo one is just a cartoon background with a line you move along, so I’d maybe try and look at what the potter one is formatted like before signing up as I would be disappointed if it was like the scooby one. The medals are really nice. I had one arrive broken and they just sent out another but it’s just been the one.

Thanks, I decided to go for it an signed up to the harry potter one, the only downside is my Fitbit isn't really matching on the app, I done 12k steps today, went onto the app an it said 9934 so come off it an went onto Fitbit thinking it was because maybe that hadn't updated, went back onto the app an it had went down to 3490 steps an wasn't updating to match, so I've disconnected it an will enter it manually at the end of the night with what my Fitbit says I've done, I've set myself for 35 days to complete my 70 miles thinking it should be more than enough time, but it's good I don't need to keep changing the time if I do more than than what I was aiming for

I'd love to see your pics 😊 they do look good but I was worried they would be like cheap plastic, so if they are heavy then at least they will be made of something better
You can manually add your distances if it’s easier and just turn off the selections in the app for what is allowed to post. You’d just need to update it each day. I’ll show some pics tomorrow of what I have.

The spellings are easily sorted, change spellcheck to English (UK), to be honest I would issue with this as well. My manager would really have a go at me for not accepting US spellings, one got through as was away and we lost a lot of funding as a result.

I’d let people do their own scenarios when teaching, because everyone learns things differently but that won’t always transfer into essays etc and, so I’d allow people to do both, do their own to learn but then they’d need to apply that to set scenarios for the course. Sometimes providers are more lax for module one but after they aren’t. Do you have the syllabus? If you have a look at that it might give an idea of what they want, also is there a sort of student services (they should have someone)? You could ask them too.

I’ve done various courses and they vary so much. I also had tutors who actually let me do things wrong because they just couldn’t be bothered and I ended up failing, I had one totally ignore the syllabus (which I had and should have studied to and ignored them). Without knowing what the course expects it can be difficult. Things like referencing can cost a lot of marks as well and different institutions use different ways.

I hope some of that is helpful. Apologies if it isn’t!
Thanks I'll change spell check to UK, honestly didn't know it was the US version because I don't know what words are different so couldn't pick it out that I was on the US version, what bugs me more is that clearly the one who's grading it has no problem because my last module would have been done with American spelling an nothing was mentioned to me about it so it's not the one who's grading it that has the problem as my last received a passing grade

I don't have any sort of student support because this is being done privately through the council, I was originally on a scheme with them to help me get back into work after losing mine to COVID an its this scheme that's doing the qualification even though am technically finished with the council now as it was only a 6 month support an am now a year in the job

I do have a guide that tells me what must be included in the module but nothing else, so when I first started it was up to me to find what worked for me an so long as everything that was included was there it was fine so once I done my first an got told it was perfect then I done my second the same way which now is apparently wrong because it's not "her" way but she won't tell me what "her" way is because they aren't allowed to interfere an help out, so am left not knowing what to do

She's just getting to me because she also had a bitch about me not putting 7/8 hours per week into it which is impossible as I have my own job to do an am not turning round to my boss who's paying me to do a job an telling her I can't work because I've got a module to do, an my work is already hectic as it is, at first I was told I could have a year to complete it because they knew I'd only have limited hours to put into it but now she's changing it as she wants it done much sooner, she honestly just bugs me because I detest being called "sweetheart" an "honey" an she does it in this tone that makes me feel like some 8 year old that can't do anything right like "oh we spell that word with a s here hooooney"

I honestly feel like telling her to go fk herself at times 😫
