Reading the changes to the law in Wales is interesting. In general it is much more favourable to renters than in England (although that isn't saying much'. I really like the law that says that a renter may not have to pay rent for any day when the property is unfit for human habitation. I wish they would introduce that in England.

There were no regulations in Wales about electrical safety checks before 2022 but since December 2022 your landlord should have had an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) and provided you with a copy. These must be renewed every 5 years. However I don't think the lack of an EICR test affects the validity of a 'no fault eviction' notice.

Ive had no heating (same for other flats, all using fan heaters) and broken windows since I moved in pre 2022 still must pay. The EICR hasn’t been done.

Hoping someone here knows the name of a backpack/handbag/purse brand…

I got a colleague for secret Santa in work and I know there’s a specific brand that she likes. She showed it to me one day and I remember thinking ‘should bookmark that in case I get her for secret Santa’ but obviously I didn’t so here I am!

I’m in my late 20s and remember this brand being around during my primary/secondary school days. It has very distinct branding, with black and purple tones and possible some sort of trees or cherry blossoms on? I am pretty sure it has a black haired young girl on it also, I’d consider it a kind of manga/anime inspired brand. They do backpacks, handbags, purses, pencil cases, coin pouches…. It’s the kind of thing I think would have been in Claire’s Accessories back in the day.

I’ve spent ages googling tonight but can’t find anything, I can almost picture it in my brain, I know once I see it I’ll recognise it….

I can picture this, but I just can't put a name to it. I did a local artist project in a school once and we wrote to this artist and she sent us some goodies. I cannot remember for the life of me! I'll keep trying.

Had a baby 7 months ago and my old jeans still don’t fit me can anyone recommend their best mom jeans? I’m usually a 8/10 (so I tell myself ) and a short arse so need short length but everywhere fits horrendously.

I got some F&F and Primark ones first (I didn't want to spend much as they'd be temporary, or so I thought) they were pretty good for like £12-14. H&M do some nice ones for just £30 and A&F do a nice Mom jean but I never bought them so no sure how they fit and wash out of the changing room. I didn't find more expensive = better beyond that.
I really believe you start to see changes in your body at about 9-12 months PP though. I've seen it on a lot of people as well as myself.

How many interviews would people do for a very entry level position that only requires GCSE grades?

I’ve currently had an interview and a short assessment (which seemed like a completely new thing for them and was honestly very silly) and it sounds like they’re planning to invite me for another interview

I’m not sure if I’m overreacting by thinking it’s all a bit silly at this point, especially as they originally rejected me and then invited me back when they put the same advert back up - so I assume there’s a chance I’ll be competing with new applicants anyway. I currently have a job and attending these 30 minute interviews isn’t ideal

Generally just been 1 interview for entry level roles wherever I've worked, with maybe a very basic IT type assessment - so I'd say that's excessive!

Also in my experience if they put the job (or similar) out again, my workplaces haven't asked previous interviewees to interview again within a certain time period (e.g. 6 months) and an informal chat would suffice! I know some places can be more rigid with recruitment though

I have a lumispa and I go through stages where I remember to use it. I’ve used it for the past two weeks and my face is so, so dry. It’s peeling like I have sunburn. I don’t have bad skin, no spots or problem areas and I’ve now realised after reading above that it’s the lumispa making it dry as it’s happened once before.

We do and I keep blocking things but then they come up under a different user. Obviously the answer is don’t have it at all but there’s really good content out there if you can get it to stop showing the rubbish.
We don’t get the super weird stuff anymore like psychedelic Peppa edits or asmr of cars running things over but a lot of manic asian accounts of people in primary colours, singing about poop and holding their bums with cartoon steam coming off or some such randomness I blocked Roma and Diana due to their ‘pranks’ and videos where she was upset she was weighing herself and upset about being ‘fat’ but they still gets reposted by other accounts, I guess it’s easy money for people. Even just cartoons that are really bright, loud and flashy I’d rather avoid but It’s difficult.

Oh wow I didn’t realise there were videos like that on there. So glad we’ve not came across anything like that

Just wondering if anyone knows how long test results take, I had an ultrasound scan on my abdomen 10 days ago & still waiting, I was told I would get the results early last week, I’m not sure if they will call me or send me a letter, I don’t want to ring my GP because they are busy, very little was said really.

Can’t you have it delivered somewhere else? Like a shop for pick up?

Honestly, if I’m paying a hefty delivery fee, it’s not to inconvenience myself even more by having to commute 30 minutes away from where I live to pick up my packages. I don’t have a car, so that means I also have to add transportation costs to the fee. I’m not doing that.

It’s not my responsibility to do UPS’s job when I’m paying a full blown delivery fee.

Wouldn't say idiots though probably there would be a few haha but grassmarket is busy with loads and loads of pubs so might be a bit loud? Still, a decent spot for being at the heart of things. Lothian road or bread street are very close to the castle as well. North bridge is close too.

Thanks, I dunno why they don't want grassmarket, it's not as if it's going be the only place that has a few numtys as much as I go into Edinburgh I've never been at any of the hotels or been up during the Xmas/New Year period so I don't know what it gets like

I just don't want Stirling cause I know there's gonna be idiots there, my bro worked at the castle one year an he stayed it's best staying away from it

Do you have cladding? If it's a North facing wall it could be that it's not drying out and it's just mildew. Still should have been sealed though.

It looks like black mould to me. We had it on our old house which was similarly pebbledashed. It mainly affected the side that received the least sun which probably stayed damper for longer. As you say nothing on the inside, it's just the surface of exterior render. It can be cleaned with a fungicide although that doesn't look like a DIY job.

l was reading up on it last night and the two options were to remove the pebbledash but that can damage the walls or get the professionals in to spray paint the whole thing

It's princes at that gets closed off for the street party so I'm assuming the other side of the castle will be open as normal? Grassmarket definitely is.

Can't help with hotels as I live in Edinburgh, only stayed in a hotel once on north bridge, there's a Hilton and Radisson blu there, then there are couple Hiltons near grassmarket/Lothian road. These areas are definitely your best bet if you want to stay close to the castle

I have salt and pepper hair that is very short and bleached white. but I have to bleach it twice to get it white (it has a yellow tinge after the first bleach


What should I use to get it white the first go? At the moment I use Blonde by Choice Blue Velvet, Premium Hair Lightener with Kobe Cream peroxide 9% (30 VOL)

If I put a toner on it goes blue or purple and I don't want that.

What am I doing wrong?

Not really a problem but just after some advice from people who’s had a flu vaccine.
I’m not entitled to one but have paid to get one from Boots. I was supposed to have it today but my anxiet got the better of me and I postponed it.

I’m concerned about having a bad reaction. I had the first Covid vaccine in the morning and that evening I had a fever, which was fine but then I started having a really bad racing heart. Like it wouldn’t stop for a couple of hours. This concerned me because there is heart problems in the family.

So my question is really what is the likely hood of having this reaction with a flu vaccine? I couldn’t really find any info online. And is it a symptom to worry about?
