Thanks, I usually do decline but then all they will give is a phone appointment which my phone isn't great in the house so I prefer going in
Yeah it depends what it’s for. Sometimes I tell them but when I’ve had other female issues (I have PCOS and endo) I say it’s a personal issue and they’ve not ever stopped me having an appointment

Thank you for this. Is there anything you can compare the level of pain to? I really don't do well with pain

What does the prep taste like?
I’d say the uncomfortable feeling was kinda like a smear test. Like it didn’t hurt but just didn’t feel comfortable but the pain from the biopsy was like a sharp scratch a few times, maybe like a cat scratch type pain if that makes sense? But it was over with within a few seconds as they take biopsy quickly.

I can’t even describe the taste of the prep but my god it was 🤮 was like bitty water but tasted really weird. Kinda had a yeasty taste to it. Like when you open vitamin b tablets and they smell yeasty it reminded me of that 😂 I think it was supposed to be flavoured but it definitely wasn’t. But I added some blackcurrant squash and it was more bearable. A hot water bottle helped too as I had crampy pains after taking the prep

Those who’ve experienced chickenpox - how did it start? My little one has some red blister type raised spots on his shoulder and towards the centre of his back. Probably about 15 spots. Does this sound like chickenpox?

Has anyone done Hogmanay at Edinburgh? Looking to do it this year but not sure of best hotels to go for, I don't know if I'll be at the castle but I don't want to be completely out the way of where all the festivities will be happening, an if the hotel does a party that's a bonus as I might stay in for a bit before

Looked at the apex as it has views of the castle but folks don't want to stay at grassmarket 🤷 not sure why, is there mostly idiots around there?
What about a Premier Inn? I'd always recommend considering them in an unfamiliar city as they are usually well located for the attractions We stayed at one near the station and the city centre is all in close walking distance.
Not been at Hogmany so can't help with that .

It takes weeks and more likely months for a landlord to enforce an eviction through the court so there's little danger of you having to leave any time soon. In any case he's said that he's not going to enforce the eviction so he won't even start the process when your notice expires. I would reply to your landlord with something like "I understand that you want me to leave. I am engaging with the housing team and as soon as they can find me somewhere suitable, I'll be gone. At the moment I don't know when that will be but I'll keep you up to date as things progress". I'd also forward the landlord's email and your reply to your contact in the housing team 'for information'. Re. benefits. How long it takes for the claim to be processed depends which on ones you are talking about.

Obviously I can't know the exact situation and I recognise lying don't worry doesn't help but it sort of feels that you are catastophising the situation - it's something I have personal experience of so I recognise the signs.
I sent their email to housing they’re not happy with what was sent to me. There’s more to this than I’ve put here (legal case, safeguarding, police involvement so can’t go into that).

The email landlord sent to them:

“re: my name, my address

Dear x,

This is to confirm above tenant can stay.
There’s no risk to her accommodation.

I’ll send this to her to confirm.

Yours y”

Not the same!

I’ll just need to see what happens but it’s a huge amount of worry I just don’t need on top of other stuff.

ETA benefit situation is complicated as someone decided to switch my benefits to income based without consent which they shouldn’t be meaning I can be switched to UC and effects things like pensions as well, and pip was stopped without any assessment or anything at all, deemed fraud and made to repay so that’s likely why the wait.

I apologise for not having said THANK YOU for the reply! 😊

Hoping someone here knows the name of a backpack/handbag/purse brand…

I got a colleague for secret Santa in work and I know there’s a specific brand that she likes. She showed it to me one day and I remember thinking ‘should bookmark that in case I get her for secret Santa’ but obviously I didn’t so here I am!

I’m in my late 20s and remember this brand being around during my primary/secondary school days. It has very distinct branding, with black and purple tones and possible some sort of trees or cherry blossoms on? I am pretty sure it has a black haired young girl on it also, I’d consider it a kind of manga/anime inspired brand. They do backpacks, handbags, purses, pencil cases, coin pouches…. It’s the kind of thing I think would have been in Claire’s Accessories back in the day.

I’ve spent ages googling tonight but can’t find anything, I can almost picture it in my brain, I know once I see it I’ll recognise it….
Was it Blythe Doll? There was a lot of that merchandise around in the early 2000s

I did ask this morning as I thought that was the right thing to do, he said he doesn’t understand me and he has no idea whether I should go. Which made me have another breakdown (but I have spoken to a friend and to my mum so had some support). So I apologised and he told me again what I’m doing to him which I feel absolutely terrible about. I have told him I love him and I want to fix things and he has now text to say to come over. But the party starts soon (if not already) and I just feel worse now after this mornings conversation but I know it’s my own fault so I’ll just get myself ready and go.
Sending you lots of love and strength for today. It’s incredibly has to see through your own negative voices and pick out what’s the depression thinking and what’s how you truly feel. Try to look at things abstractly. How would you advise someone else in that situation, how would you feel if the situation was reversed etc.
I hope it goes well.

Thanks, it's definitely not wearing a chef hat 😅 i think it might live under my decking. I have rabbits and think it might be after their bedding. Also next door have those bird feeder things.
It might possibly be getting the rabbit food, make sure the food is way at the back of their cage/hutch so they aren't spilling any of it out, if it's going after the neighbours bird feed it can't be helped but making sure there's absolutely no food around your garden will hopefully help discourage it

we had a field mouse get in the house an it went straight for my room an got into my rabbits food, we seen it in the hall one night an it was like a frigging scene from a TV show with my mum running about screaming, my dad trying to grab it in this tiny little container (like I don't know what tf he was hoping to do with that) me trying grab the rabbit an the rabbit trying knock the hell out the thing 😅 in the end a humaine trap worked an we released it like a mile from the house, didn't look pleased but it wasn't staying

Soooo my son is approaching 2 yrs old. He had a nap around lunch time for up to 90 mins then he’s awake until quite late sometimes 9.30pm as he just doesn’t seem tired. I’ve tried putting him to bed early and he just won’t go to sleep (myself & husband have tried everything and it just doesn’t work) so I’m not quite sure what to do. Do I wake him earlier from his nap? Just admit defeat and keep putting him to bed late? Anyone had experience with a low sleep needs child😁
Wake from nap earlier seems to be the consensus from the people I follow. They say to see sleep in blocks of 24 hours so you need to cap the nap to give long enough before bed and allow for the remainder of their sleep need for the night stretch. What time do they wake?
Dozesleepcoaching on IG has some free highlights and seems to have a good attitude.

(My child will not sleep early but they're late to sleep, late to rise. It suits me for now but God knows what we'll do when they reach school age and it does get tiring not to have evening time to yourself)

Not really a problem but got a weekend to London booked in a few weeks with a very excited 4 year old. Done London plenty of times (we are from the North) and with a toddler but not a 4 year old who is obsessed with the idea! Any suggestions to make it exciting? Places to eat? We are doing the transport museum already.
I’ve heard this is really good for kids plus I’d love to do it myself 😁

Had a baby 7 months ago and my old jeans still don’t fit me 🤡 can anyone recommend their best mom jeans? I’m usually a 8/10 (so I tell myself 😂) and a short arse so need short length but everywhere fits horrendously.
Youngest is 8 and my pre pregnancy jeans still don't fit 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

Does anyone know what is happening with my external walls? I will get The professionals in to have a look just want an idea of what that could be. It is only at the back of my property, no damp issues inside
It looks like black mould to me. We had it on our old house which was similarly pebbledashed. It mainly affected the side that received the least sun which probably stayed damper for longer. As you say nothing on the inside, it's just the surface of exterior render. It can be cleaned with a fungicide although that doesn't look like a DIY job.

My parents bought me a second hand computer when I was 16 that had an internal modem in it (this was decades ago) and it was previous property of the post office. They totally lost it when I recovered the data after losing a file. In my experience magnets are good corruption tools.

I really like the peachy one but agree it’s very summery.
ASOS has lots. The satin shift is a really versatile style for future?

Or JL has this a little less conservative than your second option but covered sleeve and a similar fabric to your first.

Thank you so much! That’s super helpful!

The Ghost dress is lovely! Absolutely Love it! I will check if they have my size.

The 1st one is also along the lines of what I want. It’s beautiful.

Agree. Satin is very versatile.
---
The first one is lovely. It would go with a faux fur stole/jacket in cream/taupe/gold to winter it up a bit.

I think the second one looks a bit too much like work wear for a wedding. I'm not keen on the pattern either but the blue and buttons are lovely.
Thank you! I didn’t think of the faux fur. I’ll look into it for sure!

Yeah, the second one is too workwear.
---
I like the navy printed one , but it rather modest .it would be nice with nude or tan shoes and bag I think . It could also be worn less formally with boots and a biker jacket.
The first dress be a tricky colour to wear . Not everyone will be able to pull that off.

The ghost dress is lovely
Agree! The color of the first one is very hit or miss. I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull it off. I’ve tried thinking of shoes to go with it and I can’t think of a suitable color. It’s a difficult color to pair.

The separate baskets is a great idea. We have three drawers in our kitchen which drove me mad for years being full of random crap and every time I opened them stuff would fall down the back or get stuck. I lost my shit last summer with them and hauled everything out then got a load of lock n lock boxes which I sorted everything into. So I have a box for random metal items, a box for keys, a box for batteries, a box for random plastic items, etc. I cannot put into words how satisfied I felt when it was done.
Ooooh, I need this in my life!

It is a creamy one! My partner thinks gravy with it but I think not!

I have gravy with anything I can 😅 when I moved up north I said as a joke to my new boss I'd only moved for the gravy, and they printed that quote alongside my photo on the global company website 😭😭🤣🤣
this is too funny 😂😂

Does anyone have any advice on how to not be such a horrible person when I'm stressed?
If any of you are on the rant thread you'll know I'm going through some stuff with HR at work (a colleague sent me an unsolicited video of him wanking) & the investigation is stressful AF. I'm such a grump and a horrible person to be around whilst it's been going on. My nearest & dearest don't deserve this taken out on them.

Sorry to post this but when we rats in the garden and called out the "Rat Man" he said that in the trade they call decking "rat bungalows", they love living under them apparently.

The buggers were coming into our garden from next door and had tunnelled under the fence.

I ignored them for a while until one huge one started sunning itself ON the decking and looking at me through the patio doors!

The stuff of nightmares for me o_O
Cheeky rat!

I've noticed today that it had been coming up from the drain so ive put a plant pot over it. Where I live our gardens are all attached to each other and we live next to the woods. Ive just made sure that there is nothing of interest in our garden. Apart from the decking that is 😬

I bought a jumpsuit and wore it once and the seam has ripped/come apart in the front under the bust. It happened as I was pulling it down to take it off (it has no zip). Is it cheeky to take it back to the shop for being faulty or is it my fault it ripped? It's quite noticeable.
Not cheeky, unless it was extremaly cheap you’d expect it to last more than one wear and even then to withstand one fullwear. Unless it was way too small and forced, it’s a production error or of such poor quality it’s not fit for purpose.
